Disney Gift Card Deals

Has anyone else had an issue getting the 5% Red card discount in the store? I need to pick up GC's for my trip next weekend and don't know if I should just go to BJ's instead. Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Work fine for me yesterday!

Hopefully it's the normal restrictions (Kroger gift cards, prepaid MC, etc.).

Thats what I'm thinking too.

A side note: I also noticed they are offering a 2x promo on GROCERIES on Fri/Sat/Sun from now till the end of July (you have to download a coupon). Just take that into account when figuring gift card purchases. It stinks to have more points than you can use!!

I don't think so. I pay for my trips with gift cards from target, and some transactions only allow 3 forms of payment, so I asked if there was a way to consolidate them into one big gift card and was told no by multiple CMs.

I just went to SAM's on Saturday
They have only 150 GC for 142.89

so I was bouncing back and forth get or not.

Then I figured if I use my Cap 1 QS I save 1.5% off which brings 150.00 worth of GC to 140.75

We pay off our QS balance every week so I never worry about interest.

Think that is the best I can find?

Probably . . . OR you could use your Cap 1 card to buy WalMart gift cards at a discount (check Gift Card Granny or Cardpool). Then use your WalMart GC to make your Sams purchase.

Thanks for that awesome idea! I'm sure others have said this before but I'm just now getting it. I just did the math and if I purchased $2100 in gift cards I could save almost 10% using my cash back with my credit card to buy gift cards through Ebates on Raise.com for Wal Mart to buy Disney gift cards at Sams. Whoa! A lot of work but worth it.

I noticed that Kroger is running the 4x fuel promo this Fri/Sat/Sun. They had some systems issues last Friday where the 4x wasn't working (I just called customer service and they credited me the points). Don't know if they are running this again due to the problems, or if it will be a summer long weekly promo.

Wow - I had to read that 4 times before I understood what you were doing - ha ha. You might just want to double check Gift Card Granny before buying your Walmart cards on Raise.com. Occasionally, you might find a higher discount than your 4.3% (3.3 raise + 1 ebates). Right now, I see a few ebay (buy it now) Walmart cards listed, but not sure if you want to fool with ebay or not. Good luck to you!

Please post back and let us know how this works out.

I'm sure it was SUPER confusing! LOL. I was just reading another post about someone saying there's another cash back website better than Ebates called topcashback.com I looked it up and they offer more gift card retailers.

So if you want confusing check this out:
Cardpool is a retailer for topcashback.com. Cardpool has gift cards for their website (not at a discount). Purchase however much you're going to buy for which ever retailer let's say $1000, get your credit card 1% PLUS 2% back from topcashback.com THEN use that $1000 to buy discounted Wal-Mart gift cards and get 2% back AGAIN from topcashback THEN use them at Sam's.

And also, I always exclude eBay from my search -I don't trust it. Others might but I prefer the discount gift card websites.

Come again??? So purchase a $1,000 Cardpool gift card on the topcashback.com site? It looks like the cash back on that would be 4% - not 2%, but I may not be understanding the verbage correctly on the topcashback site. Then I would use the Cardpool gift card to purchase Walmart cards at a discount, correct? Not sure I'm understanding how you are doubling up on the topcashback site?

Topcashback is essentially the same as Ebates. Through TCB you would shop on the Cardpool website for a Cardpool gift card in the amount that you want for Wal-Mart. Take the CP gift card to buy the Wal-Mart gift card.

You would get credit card AND TCB credit for buying the CP gift card. THEN get TCB credit for buying the Wal-Mart gift card.

It's confusing but I think it comes out to like 12% savings.
And TCB gives 2%. You're seeing 4% for selling your gift card.

You're right - I was wrong on the 4% - not reading it correctly.

I don't think you would get the TCB credit the second time since you would be using a Cardpool gift card as your payment method. I know on Ebates you don't get the cash back when you use a gift card as your payment method. I'm assuming TCB works the same way. Are you going to try it? Let me know if it works.

Even without the "double TCB," I'm coming up with a 9.44% discount using the TCB/Cardpool combo. Then add on whatever your normal credit card gives you.

I just ordered more $50 DGC online from Target. I got my 5% RedCard discount ... just letting you all know who were worried about the 5% going away. It still works online. I haven't tried in-store because that requires me driving 30 miles :drive:.

Unfortunately I'm all talk right now. I don't plan on purchasing any time soon. However, I don't see anything in the fine print about not being able to use gift cards and getting cash back. I DO see that Cardpool only offers cash back on up to $1000 in purchases. So in order to do this you'd have to use multiple accounts (i.e. yourself, husband etc.)

Yeah - we do the Kroger 4x fuel promo thing - which is the largest "discount" I can find. But its nice to have a backup. One can only use so much gas!!
