Disney Gift Card Deals

Ok, after rereading the post by the person who was flagged, I realized that she ordered more than 4 in a DAY, not in a single transaction. I would not be doing that in either scenario.

I still would like to hear some advice on which option would be better.

I have a question about buying Disney GCs from the Target site. I have already ordered $250 worth, but I need more before our June trip. My goal is to order $450 worth by then. I have $175 worth of Target GCs right now earned from my HumanaVitality wellness program and Swagbucks. I think I have two options. Which would be better?

1) Order 2 $100 Disney GCs, getting them for $190 with my RedCard and paying the $15. Then order $250 worth at another time for a total cost of $237.50, using $225 worth of Target GCs and paying $12.50. This would cost me $400 worth of Target GCs and $27.50 in cash.

2) Wait until I have $425 worth of Target GCs and buy the $450 altogether for a total cost of $427.50 (paying $2.50). This would cost me $425 worth of Target GCs and $2.50 in cash.

I'm thinking there is a limit of how many Disney GCs you can buy on the Target website, but I can't seem to find the answer. Also, I don't want to be flagged. I'm not sure which is more suspicious--two orders of lesser amounts or one order of a larger amount.

Any advice would be appreciated!
Here are my thoughts. Target does not charge you shipping for the GCs, so it's not really an issue if you decided to purchase in smaller increments. What you need to keep in mind is that Target .com limits you to using no more than 4 Target GCs on a single order. Try this:
    1. Start with your $175 in Target GCs. Order $150 worth of Disney GCs now, using $142.50 of your Target GCs. You would then need $300 in Disney GCs and you will have spent $0 OOP. You have $32.50 in Target GCs left over.
    2. Wait until you have earned an additional $125 in Target GCs. You now have $157.50 in Target GCs. Order $150 of Disney GCs. Pay with your Target GCs. You now have $300 worth of Disney GCs and $15 in Target GCs. And you still have not spent anything OOP. You need $150 more in Disney GCs.
    3. Wait until you have another $125 in Target GCs. Add this to the $15 you had before. You have a total of $140 in Target GCs. Order another $150 in Disney GCs and pay with your Target GCs and $2.50 OOP. You now have $450 in Disney GCs, $0 in Target GCs and will have spent $2.50 OOP total.

The rebate sites only rebate on $1000 worth of Raise cards in the lifetime of your rebate account. Raise would love for you to buy lots more than that....

Is there any sort of limit like this with ebates and Target? I have not received my credit on the last three orders while others are all still receiving credit. Just trying to figure out why...So, this mention of a limit on Raise made me wonder.

Not that I am aware of; it would likely be listed on the rebate site, like the Raise limit is, if there was a limit.

Hello everyone...new guy here.

I read elsewhere awhile back about being able to use the Target redcard for 5% off so I went to Target today to sign up for one. I'm signed up but as we wrapped things up I asked them what the restrictions were on the 5%. The answer I got was that all gift cards did not get the 5% off. I asked to clarify if that was all gift cards period or all Target gift cards. The lady checked with someone else and repeated back that it was all gift cards. I've only read back a few pages here on this thread but it sounds like people are getting 5% off. Any idea if this might be a store or regional thing or simply that the people don't know any better.

Either way I'm glad I found this site so hopefully I can learn a thing or two. I'd like to save a few bucks so I can take my 2 girls to Disney this summer. They've been there twice before and been through a lot since the last time we were there(divorce, moving, new school, and both with health issues) Hoping we can pull something off.

This is interesting as well as a little complicated for my crazy life. I understand it though. I just don't know if I want to keep up with all of it. If the limit is $500 worth in a single transaction, I'm thinking it might be beneficial if I just waited until I had $475 worth of Target GCs (which I think won't be a problem) and then purchasing the limit for $0 OOP.

Just want to make sure that purchasing 3 $100 + 4 $50 Disney GCs won't get me flagged. I'm new to this and don't want to make any mistakes.

Like I said before, you need to be mindful that Target .com will only permit you to use 4 Target GCs in a single order. Having $475 in Target GCs will be fine as long as the amount is split between no more than 4.

I believe the Target employees you spoke with today were misinformed. I just utilized the 5% off on Disney gift cards at Target using my RedCard today. If that store won't let you, you can certainly do it online. There's really nothing the store can do to stop you though, as the discount will come off automatically if you use your RedCard.

In addition to the 5% off from using your RedCard, there are a few other ways you can save quite a bit. Ultimately, your best bet is to go back ~30+ pages and read all the posts to get a sense for what people are doing. It's tedious, but we've all done it (or more) to get up to speed.

In short, here's what you can add:
  • Buy Target Gift Cards at a discount (from a reputable reseller). Generally, Raise tends to be favored around here, although their percentage off is currently very low, so you'd be best off waiting.
  • Sign up for cash back websites. TopCashBack allows you to get cash back from Raise. Ebates can get you cash back on your Disney gift card purchases from Target. *See previous posts for info on these. Cash back will not be earned automatically.*
  • Use your Target gift cards online to buy the Disney gift cards at 5% off, without actually using your RedCard.
There are many other elements that can be added to the mix, but based on where you're starting, those are the basics.

Again, reading through a serious chunk of previous posts on here is the best way to understand all of this. Feel free to ask questions, or to private message any of us (although you won't be able to do the latter until you've posted 10 times).

Thanks for the info on the Carnival cards. I did read up quite a bit to make sure I can use these for my cruise fare. I'm going to basically do the same system I did for Disney cards, except that I'll go from SB to Target to Ebay, then Carnival. When I churned for Disney, I just went from SB/Raise to Target and straight to Disney. Ebay will be new for me, and I can't wait to try it out. Thanks again to all of you here.

I'm eagerly awaiting my chance to start collecting Disney cards again, as I cannot wait for our next trip. I'm hoping we'll be able to do Disney again in 2018. Hubby and I even talked a bit about DVC. Just don't think buying in is something we can swing right now, as I work in the oil industry and things are so unsure lately. I'd have to save tons to convince him to be on board with that idea. LOL

No kidding. 6% used to be common at Raise and now it's at a paltry 0.2%. I noticed the rates dropping and started watching the site. Over the past couple weeks anything over 6% was being bought within 45 seconds, day or night. So much for that!

Thanks for the rundown. There's a few things you mentioned that I hadn't read yet so thanks for the info! It looks like I need to set some time aside this week to get some reading done. lol

It will all be worth it! Read a bunch of pages in this thread & you will start to learn a lot. :)

Ebates question for you guys: I know today (2/15) is a big fat payout day. How long does this usually take!? Just wondering since this is the first time I am expecting a Paypal deposit.

I got mine via paypal 10 days ago.

I just purchased two orders of 3x$100 Disney gift cards through Target. I have never been flagged before but now I'm seeing posts. (I believe i have done more than two sets in the past but cant remember.). With anyone with experience being flagged...Would I be safe to purchase another set today? The first two sets have already shipped.

I'm finding the terminology a little confusing here. Is there a difference between being flagged and being banned? And if so do people know for sure they are flagged or is it a suspicion? I know those who were banned were eventually told so after being given the run around by Target.

Thanks! I got a really small check for $1.90 last week, I think that was from the first cut off of 2/1 or whatever that date was. Hoping for the larger one in my Paypal soon!
Cut off for the Feb deposit was 12/31
