Disney Gift Card Deals

It took four days and I can't even remember how many phone calls, but my inactivated $500 worth of Disney GCs from Target were finally activated. I'm glad I finally went to disneygiftcard.com to combine them or I would have discovered the problem possibly too late. I have definitely bought too many gift cards doing all of this! I have several coworkers that I promised to help save money on their trips so I might sell them some of mine. I'll have to see what my bank account says before I decide :D.

Well, hopefully Raise fixes the issue with the problem I am having with one of the gift cards but I did get my first order with Target placed and am super exited to have saved that $$!! Thanks for all the hints and tips!

I've received good customer service from Raise in the past, so hopefully you will too.

I'm transferring money on the cards and I was wondering if I can transfer a portion of a card. Anyone know?

I'd like to know that too. My primary Disney GC has $991.00, I would like to make it an even $1000. I only have $100 GCs . If I (option #1)transfer a $100 GC will $9 transfer and the rest stay on the original GC or (option #2)will it be unable to transfer or worst case (option #3) will it transfer $9 and I lose the left over $?

If I recall, it asks you the amount you want to transfer. First you enter the card number and it tells you how much is on the card. Then when you go to transfer the card, it asks you how much to transfer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It's all or nothing (option #2). You cannot specify a portion of a GC to be transferred to your primary GC and the total value of any GC cannot exceed $1000.

Anyone use cardpool regularly? Their site says 1 day for email delivery, and maybe one more, and it has been four days now and they just called me today to confirm.

If this is your first time using cardpool then it is not unusual for your first purchase to take this long. I'm pretty sure mine took 5 days. The good news is, any further purchases you make WILL take 24 hours.

I have a question for those that may know......at Raise dot com I was just looking at Starbuck's cards. There are two options: eGift and Voucher. I assumed I would want eGift and when I click on it this is what comes up:
Delivery & Redemption
  • This eGift card can be redeemed online.
  • This printable voucher can be redeemed on location.
  • This eGift + voucher will be delivered to your Raise account within 24 hours.
  • Do not transfer this card to your personal Starbucks account. Raise is not responsible for gift cards transferred to personal Starbucks accounts.
Do you think they just don't recommend you don't transfer the value to your existing cards? I want to add it to my Starbuck's gold card and i don't know why I couldn't do this but since I haven't done it before I'm worried......any ideas?

Starbucks has closed out people's accounts for transferring the egift cards off of raise and other sites to their starbucks accounts. So, they lost the money on the gift cards they had.

I wouldn't recommend it.

I do it all the time with Cardpool. Why would Starbucks close your account for doing this?

Because if the gift card that is bought on raise or cardpool ends up being linked to any kind of fraud. The starbucks account it was added to is frozen. Here is an article about someone that had their account frozen and their gift card balance drained. It's from 2013, but there are many posts etc. from very recent of the same thing happening to other people.

Here's a post from last year.

And I believe some people on this board have actually posted that it happened to them?

That's why Raise has the disclaimer, because it has happened to people.

Interesting. It sounds like that particular person had a long history of dealing with Starbucks, and I'm guessing there are two sides to the story. But I do see where this is problematic, and won't bother with Cardpool for the small percentage I'd save. Thanks for the heads up!

Me either! I'm glad I asked before getting the card from Raise. I'm not a risk taker and I certainly wouldn't want my card/account frozen just to save 6%!

Target sells Starbucks cards online. So once you purchase your Target cards from Raise, you can then purchase your Starbucks card from Target, using your Red Card discount. An extra step but you'll get your Starbucks card and save a little extra.

Lol. I was just about to post this, Jodie:) Ebay/gift card mall only hs $25 and $50 Target gift cards. So the savings aren't huge.

Yeah - just a small savings. I probably would have cycled through again, but I was too impatient. I just converted my Target cards to Disney GC's a couple days ago. I'm hoping Kroger runs another fuel promo in October and we don't have to wait for the big Thanksgiving one.

I didn't think the Redcard discount was good on gift cards. I thought it worked for Disney cards because they are "entertainment cards" rather than gift cards.
