I just got an email from CardCash....get an extra 4% off Target gift cards with code 4MOREOFF. They are at 6.3% already so a $95.00 card is down to $85.46![]()
Have you had success using cardcash? Just read a lot of negative reviews. It's a nice deal but not sure if I'm willing to take the risk.
My little piece of advice is to add a Target GC that you were the original owner of. Keep the physical GC in a safe place so that you can use it if the app ever punks out on you.Just loaded a small physical Target gift card to my mobile target account and I see where I can combine a new one to it. I'm ready to try buying a discounted Target GC online this weekend! Any final newbie tips for me? I'm planning to start smallish....
I know the Disney cards are still showing out of stock on Target online but I'd like to start loading in a couple Target cards.
Can you do that through the target website? I don't have a target red card yet either.. I'm getting one too but the debit one. The debit one works with this too?
Also, do you guys think Disney visa is worth it? I know they have a $200 credit but I'm not sure how fast you get it. I'm going this August and thinking about buying my tickets with the Disney credit card
Sorry for the newbie questions. It's just such awesome advice and I had no idea people bought gift cards this way.. Such a great idea to get discounts

Then load any GCs that you purchase from these discount sites into your gift card app and combine them on that physical Target GC. You don't want to be adding GCs to another GC that you bought from a discount site because you risk having the original owner use that GC for their own purchases and draining you of all your Target GCs. All of the websites will stand behind the original value of the GC you bought, but none of them are going to cover your losses for funds that were later added to that card.
No, it won't automatically save that balance from the new GC to your existing GC. You have to actually tell the app that you wish to combine the two but first selecting the one that you named "physical card" and then picking the "combine" button and checking off the new GC before clicking "combine" again.Yep! I just bought a little $15 one at the store, and loaded that in with a name of "physical card" (LOL - I'm creative) - if I understand right, when I buy an online one, I just go and "save a gift card" and it will combine that online card from Raise (etc) to my physical card's balance, thus protecting my balance from sudden vanishing syndrome. So it sounds like I did the foundation part right by loading up a "real world" card from the store.
ETA: I have an iPhone so it sends me to the mobile website to do this, but it seems to follow the process I describe

You have to "save" the newly purchased GC to your account before you can combine it on an existing GC.I just re-read the info on my phone, and it seems you are correct, it just KEEPS my original balance. So - I see no button for combine. Do iPhone users use the Target app? If so, where is "combine" as I only see "save a giftcard"?
Or will I not see the 'combine' option until I load a second card?
Thank you for catching this, by the way.

We just did this. I bought my $500 to spend in the first month, and at the end of my first cycle I got the card. It was pretty quick. My parents are going with us, so they and my husband each did this, getting us $800 in free money. We just used it for groceries and things we'd be paying for anyway.
They are talking about the Disney Visa card that does NOT have an annual fee.You each opened a card? Hmm... that's interesting. We were going to put part of the vacation on the card..maybe all of it since it gives you 6 months to pay it off(I believe). We could probably split for each of us and then both get a $200 credit? I know there is an annual fee so I guess it's more like $150 credit and I don't know that I would want to keep paying the annual fee though.

Ok, this. Since you can no longer get the 5% off with a Target gift card, for a Disney gift card in store, do you think it will just be a matter of time before they nix it on the website as well. I mean, if you still get 5% straight off with your Redcard, that is still nice but not as nice as the 10-12% now that many are averaging
They had removed it at one point a month or so ago. Then they reinstated it after about a week. Of course, they could remove that advantage at any time. But it strikes me as odd that they would remove it during a software upgrade but then add it back in almost immediately.Ok, this.
