Disney Gift Card Deals

So many of us feel the need to include that sentence at the end. We're all afraid of being judged on the Budget Board. Well, some are just bragging, but I think most of us know (or at least think) that people on here will judge us if we don't state that. However, I haven't seen much judging of that sort recently.

Just in case ...

I pay off my credit cards every month.

:)
Too funny. I say that in conversation several times per week. I have never felt the need to post it here because I feel if we are such savvy savers, we have to be against paying interest. Otherwise, what's the point!!

Newbie question here. I have just purchased my first target gc online this morning and received my email showing my account number and pin for the gc. Since target is still out of stock with their Disney "entertainment" cards do I just hold on to this number or is there a place in my target account to go ahead and add the gc information? I'm nervous with this since it is new and just want to be sure I handle this transaction as securely as possible.

I would combine it with a card that has always been yours on targets mobile website. Even though they are typically guaranteed, it is a pain to get fixed.

Is this done only from the mobile website? Or is this an app or something? (I am planning to get a physical target card this weekend to start this process!

I did it on the mobile website. I am not sure about the App. I have an iPhone and Target says that combining GC's on the iPhone App is not currently available.

Can you do that through the target website? I don't have a target red card yet either.. I'm getting one too but the debit one. The debit one works with this too?

Also, do you guys think Disney visa is worth it? I know they have a $200 credit but I'm not sure how fast you get it. I'm going this August and thinking about buying my tickets with the Disney credit card

Sorry for the newbie questions. It's just such awesome advice and I had no idea people bought gift cards this way.. Such a great idea to get discounts

I'm not sure if you are asking about combining GC's as "that" but if you are, you can do it on the mobile site. I have not found how to combine them on the regular website. Only to save cards to it. The Red Card Debit card does work for the 5%.
I have the Disney Visa card. I used to use it religiously. It would be worth it for the $200 but since I have had my card for MANY years, I am not sure the turn around on the $200 bonus. I prefer to use a cash rewards card now. I can use the rewards to buy Target cards to get Disney cards cheaper. So for me, it is not AS WORTH IT now that I am aware of all these discount perks :)

Thanks ChrisG. I think what I'm asking is when you buy your target gift cards off of raise or card cash..what do you do while your waiting to use them to buy Disney gc.(if they are out of stock). I think us newbies are afraid to hold onto the target ones for fear there will be a problem.

You need a small gift card that has always been yours to combine the discount cards balances to. This way the original owner can't wipe them clean.

How do I combine my Target Mobile GiftCards on the Target App?
  1. Pick one card.
  2. Scroll down the screen on your phone.
  3. Click Combine.
  4. Pick another card.
  5. Click Combine.
  6. Follow the prompts until complete. The second card selected will transfer its funds to the first card, and will be force-closed as a result. Only the first card will hold a balance or be able to be reloaded.
Note: Currently unavailable on Apple App due to updates.

Does anyone know if you can load your e-gift card from raise to the app for in-store use? I have to pay off our cruise by June 27th, and I would like to take advantage of the 8.6% off this morning, but I am a little concerned the gift cards might not be back in stock online. Target says on its website you can convert e-gift cards to mobile gift cards, has anyone tried this with the ones from Raise?

Ohhhhh..so I need to buy a gift card for myself first.
Yep or if you get one "free" when you buy other stuff. $5 card is plenty. You will only be able to put $1000 to the card I have heard people say. I have never had that much to combine since I usually buy in small amounts or right away.

I just bought a physical target gift card with a value of $47.50 for $43.94 online at cardpool. Will use it to get my first $50 Disney gift online at Target.

12%-a good savings? Wanted to start small with my first one.

That's about the average I get. I'm sure from time to time you can do better than that, but not on a regular basis.

Yep. See this link.

Thanks ChrisJG! So once you put it into mobile gift card form, it's safe?
No. You have to combine it to a card that is yours from the beginning. The person who originally owned the discount card has the numbers. If they wanted to, they can wipe it clean. That is why you need to combine it to a card that you buy or receive from Target.

Right..that's what I meant....once it's combined , it's safe and I can wait until the Disney gift cards come back in..
