:confused3 Is the cheese part of the cheese fries, simply that you get a small cup of cheese sauce to dip it in? I assume the red is ketchup? Or is this a condiment bar and you got cheese sauce for your fries?

After you get your hot dogs & fries there is a little area that has ketchup & things and there is also a container of hot cheese that your pump into the little cups.. it's so good! :thumbsup2

FYI, they also have cheese sauce at the condiment bars at Cosmic Rays and I think Pecos Bills

Was going through my pics and realized I hadn't posted these. Not really Disney FOOD but still Disney. DSIL and I had Kir Royale (Currant wine and champagne) from France while waiting for Illuminations. DS and nephew enjoyed Sprite from the light up glasses when we were finished, they thought it was great!

What restaurant were you at? How hard is it to get these seats?

The drinks came from the same kiosk near France where you get the grey goose and grand marnier slushies.

These photos were not at a restaurant. They are one of the decks in front of Italy. It is just off of the America Theater (I think that's what it is called) There was a private party nearby but we were allowed at its entrance. I would say we staked out these spots over an hour in advance (got CS meals and ate on this deck). We decided waiting was worth it. Kids were able to move around without leaving the deck so they didn't get too restless and they kept busy with dinner and each other and there was a U2 cover band playing while we were waiting

If you are willing to wait, this is about as perfect a view of Illuminations as you can ask for!

Is there a place to sit or is it all standing up? What are the private parties for and how often are they there?

Wow, you're good!! The part circled in red is the area where the private party was. We were along the side of the area just on the circles left. The "front" side did not have anyplace to sit. Along the left side closest to the theater were a few benches that we sat on while waiting. The kids actually stood between the bench and the railing during Illuminations and we kneeled on the benches. It was a tad bit of a sideways view but we never felt obstructed in any way. I suppose the front of the deck may have been a little more straight on but we wanted the bench to wait.

I don't know how often they have private parties on the deck (or if you can sit there when there isn't one?) They had a CM working the rope well in advance of the party who we enjoyed talking to but I never asked about nights when there isn't a party. She told me that lots of people rent out this space for a dessert buffet party to view Illuminations. This must be an indication that Disney believes this is one of the best spots for viewing!!

I think that is for the Grand Gathering dinners because they do have the dessert buffets.

I promise after this post we will get back on topic:rolleyes1 ...but can you please post any pics of the ones that you took during this night?

Oh dear God please tell me this is not true..this is where they have the parties now? This is mine and DH FAV spot to watch IllumiNations. We watched it every night we were in Disney from that spot! That was where DH even proposed to me! See that fountain part in the area that has the red circle around it...thats exactly where DH proposed to me. We would always stand on the left right up against the railing and "front" side.

Wow that sounds good, do you remember how much they were? :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure they were $10. Pricey by my standards but when on vacation...:rolleyes1

I'm afraid these are about the only pics I have. My camera doesn't take good night photos and DH took video with his. I wish there was a way (OK, maybe there is but I'm a little computer dumb) to capture a still image from a video because the view was amazing. I watched it last night after this conversation began and WOW.

I don't know that this area is always off limits. The night we were there they were hosting a private party so we were restricted off to the side. What a romantic proposal!

I see your anniversary is in two weeks which can make the situation a bit worse :sad1: Hopefully there wouldn't be any parties that night pixiedust: That spot seems great, but the area near it (to the left of the circle) shouldn't have any parties that night.

What is that?

Yep, a pp was right - those are the choc.covered marshmallows from Goofy's Candy Co. - soooo good! Here's the list you can choose from:

Looks like you got an overzealous chef who liked his sauce :rotfl: I saw another picture of the apple crepe and the sauce didn't cover the plate...in fact it was on the crepe but not even touching the ice cream which was already melting. But...the other pic I saw only had strawberries....looks like you had half strawberry, raspberry and a blackberry.

:worship: Praying that our chef doesn't hit the sauce too hard!

Our chef was a little "heavy-handed" when it came to the sauce - I had the same problem with my duck entree! Another poster also noted that their crepes didn't have that much sauce, so I think my dish was the exception to how it's usuall served!

:confused3 Is the cheese part of the cheese fries, simply that you get a small cup of cheese sauce to dip it in? I assume the red is ketchup? Or is this a condiment bar and you got cheese sauce for your fries?

Like a pp noted, the condiments bar at Casey's is self-serve; so you get get as much cheese on the side as you want! We shamelessly had 6 cups of it between the two of us! Soooo good!

We stayed on the CL at ALK in June, which was fantastic. We were really tired one night, so we "rented" a couple DVD's (Toy Story 1 and 2) from the store and brought snackies and beer from the lounge. It was great!

We had chicken wings, hummas and crunch pita chips, yogurt dip, and carrot and celery sticks. We went back later and got zebra domes and a delicious African liquor for dessert.

It was a great relaxing Disney evening!

OK I'm only on like, page 36 or something but I just have to ask if it's sad that I'm going gaga over the deserts and the breakfasts? :rotfl2: I am SOOO going to Beaches & Cream on our next trip and getting a No Way Jose (Holy Schmoly I want one of those so incredibly bad right now, and it's 12:34am!), CLEARLY going to Goofy's and concocting some sort of ooey-gooey goodness (most likely containing a rice-krispie treat) and I am sooo getting the brownie sundae from Y & Y. I wanted it on our March trip and DBF talked me into the Sorbet instead. It was good but I'm a brownies and ice cream kind of girl! Oh, I can not wait to go back to Ohana for breakfast. By far, my most anticipated meal of every trip!

Here are my contributions:

DBF's sandwich at the Plaza (I think it was Philly Cheese Steak)

My sandwich from the Plaza (I think it was the Club and BTW, it's the largest item on the menu. No, I didn't finish the whole thing!)

Camarones con Fideos from San Angel Inn at the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot:

Can't remember what it's called but it's basically beef stew. Again, from San Angel Inn:

Chicken Parm from Mama Melrose's:

I know this was posted once before but it was so freakin' good it deserves another shout-out..the Artisan Bread from Mama Melrose's:
