Continuing with today's footage of ShoWest, I have brief updates on all of the things Disney showed during their presentation. Brief because I have to hurry up and go to another presentation in a few minutes.

Up footage:

New footage of Charles Muntz shown as the end bad guy. He was in his zeppelin wondering where Carl and Russell were at. we then see Russell floating outside of the zeppelin. We also saw shots of Carl and Russell being chased by a bunch of dogs in a cave. Not too much new but it was the first time they had shown Charles Muntz after his presence in the beginning of the film.

Toy Story 1, 2, & 3 News:

Toy Story 1 & 2 will have a 2 week limited engagement in 3-D starting on October 2nd, 2009.

During the 2 week limited run in 3-D, it will be the first time audiences will get to see the trailer for Toy Story 3.

Cars 2:

The Cars go global to race other cars around the world. Brad Lewis is directing.

Beauty & The Beast in 3-D:

We saw the opening song from Beauty & the Beast in 3-D. I have to tell you, the movie looks incredible in 3-D. I was blown away by the depth of each scene. You could see at least four planes away in the background. And the animation looked the same, yet touched up. This will be a beautiful 2-D to 3-D transition and I hope they think about doing this with their other hand drawn features. In my opinion, it looked more impressive than the CGI stuff.

A Christmas Carol:

No footage shown, but a lot of pre-production artwork and Robert Zemekis talking about the movie. It has the potential to be a huge hit, but nothing in 3-D was shown.

Tron:

Same clip shown from Comic-Con. Principal photography begins in a couple of weeks.

Alice in Wonderland:

Will be presented in IMAX 3-D.

No footage shown, but the concept art looked incredible, including shots of the Cheshire Cat, Caterpillar, White Rabbit, the feet of the Queen of Hearts, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, a picture of Alice walking through a gate into a garden filled with giant mushrooms (or has she shrunk?), and the Queen's castle. We also saw a picture of Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, but with his head down so we couldn't see his face, but it looked the same as the photo that snuck out on the internet last year.

Think American McGee's Alice. It has almost the same look as feel as the PC video game, in the sense that the characters looked much darker than the ones you'll remember from the Disney cartoon.
