Disney Ex Employees

I was a CP in Spring of 2000. I was in the Confectionery on Main Street of MK. I made fudge and cotton candy and caramel apples, ect. Loved it!! :D Main Street was the best. In the afternoons, the Dapper Dans would come in and sing in the shop. At night I got to watch the parades right out the windows EVERY NIGHT. During fireworks, it was slow in the shop so a bunch of us would go out in the back and watch and cheer for Tinkerbell's flight.

I wouldn't give up that experience for anything. While I did have some bad days at work, I can honestly say there was never a day where I dreaded going into work that morning. Wish I could say that about the other jobs I've had! If I could find a way to move to Orlando, I would definitely be knocking down Disney's door and finding another job there.

I loved living at Vista Way too. I would wake up and go for a run around 9 am. by 10ish, I'd be laying out at the pool until lunch time. I started work around 3 pm til close. Then after work, parties almost every night :) It was a great life :D

College Program - summers of 1998 and 1999! Worked at Epcot and the MK.

Loved every minute of it and still talk to my best friends from the program (even indirectly met by DBF through the CP!)

I did - intern at Imagineering in spring 2006. Now I work for Universal Creative on the Harry Potter project team! :woohoo:

College Program - Spring 2000 - Main Street
Payroll - in between
Advanced Intern - MK Guest Relations

I left because I couldn't afford to pay my school loans and I needed medical coverage and I wasn't guaranteed full time status.

I don't know if I would go back. It would be hard to start all over from the bottom again. However, I did enjoy my time there immensly and I am glad I did it.

Soarin 08 - My favorite place in Walt Disney World is Main Street USA, too. That is where I met my husband!

I was a Disneyland Cast Member in the 1980's while I was in college. I was a Main St. Merchandise Hostess and I also did GC for the MSEP. I don't care how many times I saw that parade, I loved it. As a hostess, I worked in all of the shops on Main Street and I really enjoyed working the candy shop and the china shop the best.

I also did GC for the daytime parades. At the front of the day parade, there was an Ad-Float for the Rescue Rangers. I still know that song to this day.

All I can say is that it is GREAT to have Disneyland on your resume. It has opened doors for me.

And as things come full circle in life, I'd love to say where I work now, but my current employer frowns on us posting on Disney message boards...

I did CP twice!
First in Attractions at DisneyQuest
Second in Merchandise at Animal Kingdom

My sister also did CareerStart in EPCOT

We both had a blast! And I would do it again in a second (if I were still in school that is).

I worked for the Disney Store from 1994 through 1995. It was not a great expereience. It wasn't like being at WDW. It was basically a retail job with disney music and terrible costumes. I loved my fellow CM's, but the main supervisor (not you tracey)and district manager were horrible . They made it miserable. It didn't however, lessen my love for Disney.

My husband worked at Epcot and then moved over to MK during the 90's. He eventually quit after working there for about 5 years because he became really ill.

My DH was a cast member back around 1984-1987 or so (before he was my DH). He was in transportation, driving trams in the EPCOT lot.

Another CP from 1988 (I was 18 when I went there and turn 40 next month!). I was on Main Street, MK, and it was absolutely the best, most wonderful time of my life. I was lucky to get Main Street!!! I spent my days, nights, mornings and weekends right in the middle of the magic!!

I love MK after closing

Me too!!

So i see we have a few who posted on here. Now when you worked there did you enjoy it or it was just another job?

For me it wasn't just another job. I truly enjoyed my time at Disney. Sure, your going to have good and bad days. But, what I loved most was just being present in the parks, to have a sense of empowerment to help out guests, and also that feeling at the end of the night or the early morning when it was just you walking down the street. Also, being backstage everyday, seeing Spaceship Earth from lying on my back talking on my cell on a CM picnic table behind stroller rental.

When I retire, I am retiring to Florida and working at Disney.:earsgirl:

I worked at MK in the summer of 1990 in Entertainment. I had the best time and would love to be there to this day (even though I'm now officially old :lmao:). Sadly, I had to leave Neverland and grow up... :sad1:

It was and continues to be (behind marriage and having children) the best experience of my life.

I worked at Disney as well, in the TTC center. We were the first people and the last people you could buy trinkets from.

It was a very fun job, and the training was the best! Got to see all the underground parts of the Magic Kingdom, and some of our sessions were on Main Street on the second story. We coudl peak out at the people shopping on Main Street.

I know to some who worked in the parks, I'm not a real Disney Castmember, but I did work for the Stores from 98 - 02.

Definitely not another job. I loved going to work and even "bad" days weren't bad. It was an amazing experience.

I agree, the training is amazing. I learned so much and feel I have gotten ahead in my career because of what I learned.
