Okay i really want to know how many of you out there use to work for Disney? I know i use to, say back in the early 1990's. yep i use to work at magic kingdom on attractions and just about all over. Worked there for about a year. Had to come home it's a long story. But WOW How much fun it really was to be there and to wrok for such a wonderful place. I do miss it from time to time. Sometimes i wonder if i could ever go back and do it again. Would you???

Me. Just jumped on a plane and showed up on Casting's Doorstep. Right in the middle of a hire freeze, lol. But, they had some jobs open and I snagged one. Loved it, but I am really close with my Grandma. Every time I would call home, she would start to cry. Eventually that, plus being on my own in a new place wore me down. I came home after working there 4 months. But, I wouldn't trade my time there for ANYTHING.

I am glad I left when I did. 9/11 happened right after I left, and I would have probably been let go in the subsequent tourism slow down. But, while I was there wow, I am glad I had that time.

Ok, I honestly worked there about 2 weeks. Not long after I got the Disney job, I got a job that payed a LOT more...

For the short time I was working MK Attractions/Frontierland, I would honestly say I would NEVER do it again. Just not very magical for me...and the pay, was hardly enough to get to and from there.

Pleasure Island- Spring 2007

It was fun in some ways, and I'm sad that it's shut down now!

Thanks for starting this thread.:thumbsup2 I begin my WDW CM job in 22 days and would enjoy hearing some stories from former CMs.

I don't know about a Disney Employee, but I was a Disney Cast Member... LOL

I did three 8 month College Programs. The first one was in Fantasyland Attractions and the other two were in Entertainment. I loved it. I got to be part of the closing cast of Share A Dream Come True Parade and opening cast of Disney Dreams Come True Parade. I also did Spectromagic and Celebrate the Season, among other things. Best job I ever had. I would have gone full time if it paid better and that area weren't so freaking expensive to live in. I plan to go back and work there part time one day just for fun.

Soarin08: Are you going to be a CP? What will you be doing?
:thumbsup2 Yup!! I'm in Quick Service Food and Beverage. Not sure where yet though. I asked for Epcot so my fingers are crossed.:)

I was a Disney Store Employee for many years... Do I count? and Yes, I would go back too.. IF they were hiring again..

I worked there one summer while in college. My best friend and I drove up an hour and a half and got hired on the spot. We were so surprised! We found out there was housing in Kissimmee for Disney employees only and ended up living at a converted Ramada Inn for employees. We loved it there! We both ended up working on Main Street U.S.A. in all the little shops. The one we will always remember is the Magic Shop, which is now long gone. We also worked in the Marketplace, maybe now called something else, in their candy store, t-shirt shop and jewelry store. The most interesting thing was the underground area where the employees would get their cast outfit and enter the park from. They also had a cafeteria for the employees and a break room. We so enjoyed our summer there. I have often said I should have never left!! ::MinnieMo

I worked for Disney at the local Disney Store while in College. I liked working for Disney, but wasn't the greatest fan of working retail (especially during the holiday season).

I'd probably go back, just so long as they promised that they would never bring back those hideous sweaters that we had to wear in the 90's...

I was a CP in the fall of 2001, but only stayed for about 45 days. Financially, it was a hardship on hubby and me. I was only making $6 an hour to where I used to making nearly $60-$70 a night waiting tables and it made a huge difference in our finances. I worked in Tomorrow Land at the Indy Speedway and it was one of the best times of my life. I would do it again if I had the chance, but only if hubby, son, and I lived in Orlando. 9/11 happened while I was there and was that an experience! :sad1:

Mr. ZephyrHawk was a two summer CM with the College Program, working at MK and BB.

I was I was I was!!!

I was a CM on the International College Program in 2005 (I worked in Fittings and Fairings, the store at the Yacht Club...possibly the QUIESTEST store on property!!!)

Then I worked at the Rose and Crown in Epcot as a server, which was loads of fun and great money. I would do that job again, definitely, but anything else on the starter levels is just too little money to be able to live on.

But it's fun working for Disney! And college programs are amazing, loads of fun memories!

I did and would all over again!!
