Disney Event Photography or Randy Chapman? Thoughts/Experiences?

Those who have used Randy Chapman before, how long has it taken for you to receive DVDs? (Family session, not wedding)

I'd contacted him about reserving a session during our vacation next month, and since it had been almost a week and I hadn't heard anything from him (as opposed to when I contacted him over Thanksgiving and he responded very quickly) I ended up going ahead and booking a mini-session with Disney Event Photography. DEP has a non-refundable $25 deposit.

I'm considering canceling DEP anyway, because Randy has all day available (so we could do a morning session, which would work better for our 8mo DD) whereas our DEP session is at 3:00pm (no morning availability). My concern, though, is that if it took him a week just to respond to an e-mail, how long will it take to get the DVDs?

DD is definitely awake and smiley and happy at 9am. 3pm, and the afternoon in general, is kind of hit and miss...it depends on when she goes down for a nap, and I know being in FL is going to mess that up already.

I'm a little gunshy about that because I've recently finished a horribly long back and forth with our wedding photographer about getting a master DVD of our pictures from 6 years ago. It took almost a year to get that taken care of I had to hound and hound the photographer to get anything done, and I'm wary about having to do the same thing.

Any experiences would be appreciated!

I cant speak about family sessions about turn around time on the disks, but we got our wedding disks back from Randy in 3 weeks, but if you wanted them sooner Im sure he would accommodate you. We had an amazing time with him on our wedding day and we have said that any photography that we need in the area we will book with him. So, we will have family portraits with him in the future. The Disney photographers are so hit or miss, I would cancel with them and book with Randy in a heartbeat!!!
