OUR CRUISE DOCUMENTS ARRIVED TODAY!!! Last week when the documents arrived for the 1st half of our B2B, the I didn't know what it could be in the envelope the FEDEX guy held. I was signing for it as I asked him who it's from and he read : " RR Donnelly" That meant NOTHING to me, so wasn't totally excited yet. Then I read, after he left, the rest of the sender info, beside the name he read was DCL! THATS when I KNEW what was in the package. This time I took Photos :thumbsup2

:woohoo::woohoo:I love it when cruise docs come in!!! Just one more sign that we are just a dream away! IDK? I got carried away with Carasel of Progress in my head!

cool, got an email from our t/a and she said we wouldn't get ours til we were about 2 wks out.

Hi there! There is no maximum size to carry luggage OFF the ship. Only ONTO the ship since it has to go through security just like at an airport. It's entirely up to you as to how much you want to carry around that last morning. But just beware, it is a MADHOUSE trying to get an elevator. There are about 4,000 people using about 9 to 12 elevators (if the elevators are like those on the Magic & Wonder - I believe there are three elevators at forward, midship, and aft each on the other two ships.)

I guess I should have been more clear. We will have a small carry on as well but what is the max size of luggage that will go thru the security. I haven't flown in at least 25 yrs. Does this info come in your cruise documents?

I'm not sure if it comes in your cruise documents or not. But I remember reading somewhere that it should be similar to the size of a carry on bag on a plane. And that size varies based on the airline you ask. They range from 22" X 14" X 9" to 24" X 17" X 10". I sure hope that helps! :goodvibes

Okay. The carry-on talk has me wondering about something. At the risk of sounding completely un-cultured or well-traveled....LOL.....um....How do y'all haul your dress clothes onto the ship? I suppose I need to get one of those garment bag luggage things but do you carry that on with you? Checking it just seems like it'd be a terrible idea. Folding it over and smushing it into a suitcase doesn't seem like the thing to do. The only time we've ever taken dress clothes anywhere it was a point-A to point-B sort of thing so I left the guys sport coats & my dress in the dry cleaners plastic & laid it over the top of everything in the trunk. This trip is so unusual in that we are bringing quite a bit of dress clothing: dress-up night on the cruise, family portraits in Epcot, and anniversary dinner at the Yachtsman. Any tips for maneuvering the dressy stuff thru embarkation would be muchly appreciated!

Yay for Cruise docs arriving. We got ours yesterday too :yay:

Yay!!! People DO post on here!! I was beginning to wonder.

Congrats to those who have received their cruise docs! It's always a welcomed sight especially when you've been waiting so long for the cruise to come!!

By the way, my name is Junior and I'm a Disaholic. My wife is Debbie(luckymomoftwo) and I just figured that I would try and meat some of you that are gonna be on the 9/15, the first of our B2B. So please, if you would be so kind as to indulge me, introduce yourselves to me so I know who I'm talking to at the Dismeet on the ship. Thanks:goodvibes

I can't wait for this trip!! My DS Brandon and I are flying down Sept 11th very early in th morning from Chicago. I'm excited for some 1 on 1 time with him which doesn't happen very often. We got some Disney action planned as well as Universal!! He's 11 and this will be the first time at Universal big enough to ride the good stuff!! Can't wait for Harry Potter too!
Deb and DD Emilee arrive Tues night. I'll go and pick them up then it's one more day at Disney where we will meet up with her best friend from NC and some others we've met through Dis or by renting out points. In fact there will a couple people that rented from for a stay while we are there too! Should be fun!
Then it's off to our B2B and acouple extra days without the kids at Disney!:woohoo:
That's our trip in a nutshell. Can't wait!

I just pack them in the suitcase. When I hang them up in the closet, I spray Downy Wrinkle Release on them and by the time I need to wear them the wrinkles are gone. :goodvibes

Nice to meet you, Junior! I'm Kelly..sometimes known as SweetPee as well as numerous other less-than-magical names I won't say here. :rolleyes1 :lmao: This is me:

Oh! Sorry. That's Ellie Boo there with me & Daisy. I've collected the original soft sculpture Cabbage Patch babies for almost 12 years now. Little Ellie is a dolly that I reimagined into my perfect little Disney sidekick. I took her with me to WDW in January 2010. It was a lot of fun. She may be making an appearance on our upcoming adventure, too!

Then there's Tracey..or Mr. SweetPee..my bestest friend & partner in Disney over-indulging. I somehow got him to drink the water so he's into Disney every bit as much as me!

Next would be our 15 yro son, Chandler. Like all teenagers, he knows everything. Just ask him. :headache:

And, finally, there's our 13 yro son, Brian. He recently got to meet Will, Stephanie, and Vince from Discover's 'Sons of Guns' show. Poor kid was literally speechless!

So that's us. This is our very first cruise! Woot! :cheer2:

Our adventure will go as follows:

- 9/9: Leave home in Port Arthur, Texas in the wee hours for the long haul. By long I mean reeeeaaally long. Tracey wants to push thru 860-something miles switching off between our 3 drivers (Chandler has his permit) and check into a Hampton in or near Ocala. We're thinking this will be roughly a 15-16 hour shot. Crash early. We'll need it.

- 9/10: Get up & head on to WDW where we'll be checking into the Wilderness Lodge for 5 nights.

- 9/15: Leave WDW at roughly 9:30 - 9:45 for a 10:45-ish arrival at the port. We're boardin' the Disney DREAM! Woohoo!!!! Meet all our new cruise friends!

- 9/18: Debarkation and back to WDW. Meet up with my mom & older brother. Everyone check into the Yacht Club for another 6 magical nights in our happy place. Today is our 18th anniversary so a super-special dinner at the Yachtsman is in store.

- 9/24: The dreaded check-out day. Time to head home. We have no real plan as far as how long or far to drive or if we even want to stop. I have done the full push from WDW to my house in a car before with just 2 drivers. It was brutal but it can be done.

Whew! I think I need a nap just from talking about all that!

I just pack them in the suitcase. When I hang them up in the closet, I spray Downy Wrinkle Release on them and by the time I need to wear them the wrinkles are gone. :goodvibes

Okee-dokee! I'll keep that one in mind! I attempted to use Downy Wrinkle Release on my uniforms when I worked in law enforcement without good results. Maybe I'll give it another shot. :goodvibes

I was wondering, is anyone sharing their port plans with each other. Would be interesting to know if some of us are doing the same adventures. But if not it's fine, I get wanting to keep some privacy on your vacation :goodvibes

Sweet Pea, fab intro you guys look like you are going to have a blast and you all seem like really fun people. Hope to see you on the cruise :)

I don't know if we got around to discussing the port adventures since I got here. We just hopped onboard in March? Maybe it was late February? Anywhoo, our plan is to not have a plan. This being our first cruise we want to follow our whims, relax, and explore what the ship has to offer without a whole lot of a schedule. My 13 yro & I want to run the Castaway 5k (it would be our first time running a 5k even if it's not a real running event). I'm pretty concerned about the heat & humidity at 9 a.m., tho. We currently get up at 5 a.m. to beat the sun just so we can survive our runs. Otherwise we intend to partake of the activities, see some movies, maybe have a massage, and do whatever strikes our fancy. My prediction is that if/when we get off the ship at Castaway Cay it won't be for very long. We're not real beachy people. <---crazy, I know! We booked the cruise for the ship, not the destination. ;)

Yep Yep Yep! We're pretty fun folks if I do say so myself. My old man is non-stop entertainment all by himself which is why I married him to begin with. I suppose it's safe to say he's rubbed off on the rest of us. :thumbsup2

We're going in blind with heat and what to expect as this is our first ever cruise, but we do have excursions booked for Nassau and CC but just one each so we can enjoy the ship on Nassau day afterwards and enjoy all of CC after our other excursion. So excited for CC :hyper:

We probably won't get off the ship at Nassau, that place is kinda dumpy. We've been there a couple times and then the last couple we just stayed on the ship. We are doing a B2B which will make it our 8th and 9th cruises but first on the Dream. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
I am doing jetskiing with my son in the morning at CC and my wife is taking him parasailing in the afternoon. Last year on the member cruise at this time the weather was perfect. 80s w/ no humidity or rain and the ocean was like glass. I'm hoping for a repeat. :thumbsup2

Ooh sounds like fun :) I get what you mean about Nassau. We are doing the Sea Lion encounter first thing and then popping into one of the rum shops to pick up some rum cake :Teeth: On CC we are doing parasailing first thing then have a cabana for the rest of the day on SB :)

The weather sounds perfect on CC, all the pics I have seen the water looks so beautiful and inviting. My H2B is hoping to go snorkelling to get some underwater shots/video :)
