Disney Dream - June 2, 2013 - 4 Night

Could I please have a Facebook invite? I couldn't get the link to work.

Thank you.

Has anybody had Mickey or another character call the house and leave a message for your child? I noticed it in the planning guide that was sent to our house recently. Would love to set that up and have Mickey call my 8 year old daughter on the phone about the cruise!

Count us in! We just booked for the June 2 Cruise! It will be me and DG, and kids DS(13), DS(11) and DD(8). So excited! The facebook page shows unavailable???:goodvibes:goodvibes

Did anyone read the fish extender long thread? I read most of it and the one thing that stood out to me was to keep the groups small (10 cabins or less). Does this seem realistic to those who have done it before? I would hate to have 20-30 cabins because I know that I wouldn't be able to make the things I want to make for them all. I am so grateful to those who put the FE together. I have a tendency to over think this stuff :)

On our last cruise, the FE was broken into two lists because there were so many people that wanted to participate. You only had to exchange with folks in your group. We ended up with two groups of 13 cabins.

You could of course give gifts to everybody if you wanted to but you were only "required" to exchanged with the people in your group. It worked very well!!!

I believe I now have everyone who has messaged me with their info to join the FE List. Sorry for the delay.

I had stated awhile back how life has thrown me for a loop and I feel I should probably fill you guys in on why I haven't been constantly looking at the DIS and responding in a quick fashion. And for my constant apologies.

My 4yr old niece was diagnosed with Wilms Tumors, a form of kidney cancer, back in October. One day I was over my family's house and her mom (my sister by choice - friends since we were 8) asked me to feel Katrina's, my nieces stomach. I felt a lump. We discussed all the possibilities it could be and gave the doctor a call. The Weds after noticing the lump, which is always Aunt Nea and Trina day, while Mommy and Daddy work, I prepped her for her CT Scan with contrast fluid... let me tell you getting a 4 year old to drink that stuff all day is a ton of fun. Well within an hr of her scan they were rushing her to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. They discovered 8 tumors, 2 on her left and 6 on right. So for the last 14 weeks I have spent almost every waking moment with them as she has undergone chemo treatments every week, trying to help the best way I can and just simply spend time with the little girl who stole my heart the day she was born. Yesterday she underwent surgery to remove parts of both kidneys to hopefully get rid of the cancer. We have a recovery to get through and then hopefully just 6 more weeks of chemo. Life is settling down and we are all finally getting used to this. If you looked at the group of us you would think we were the ones who are sick. She smiles at us and tells us not to cry cause she knows that she will get better.

Thank you for expressing your concerns about the group size. As it stands we have 13 cabins joining in on the FE exchange. I will be asking soon as to how large we want the group to get before we split and when the cut off date will be.

The past cruise I was on, we had 25 cabins and chose not to split the group till we got to 30 cabins. Obviously, we can split it sooner if people would prefer. If we are split into groups people will have the option of being included on both lists. Also if we choose a cut off date, people who add after the set date can be put on a separate list and each cabin can choose whether or not to add them to their list. This is how I have seen it done in the past. I will either post these questions soon or PM all of you with it.

Hope this info helped to calm your thoughts and nerves. Any more questions please feel free to ask.

I believe the issues with finding the Facebook Page was due to the request to change the group settings to Secret, for understandable reasons. Hopefully this now will work. It is still set to Secret.

Please let us know if it still doesn't work for those of you looking to join.

Hi all. DH, DD (8) and I are very excited to be joining you on our very first cruise. 128 days...of course we are getting in the day before.

Shea, hugs to your little niece. Kiddos are so amazing, you know they will be better because they will themselves to be. It doesn't occur to them otherwise. And because of that they do get better.

The Dream cruise leaving June 2 will be our first ever cruise. DD12 and DD9 are hoping to "meet" other kids that will be cruising prior to setting sail! Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Could I please be added to the FE list. This is my first cruise and I'm new to the DISBoards, so if I'm doing this wrong, please forgive me!!! I learn fast... It will be myself and my two daughters 10 and 12... We are super excited! Thanks!!!

I am getting so excited. We get to start out check in on Saturday!! I think I have all of my ducks in a row and know what we want. It was sitting at 0 degrees here today so dreaming of a cruise is keeping me warm. :sunny:

I was wanting to join the FB page, but its still not showing up for me. Can someone add me?

Alright the issues should now be resolved. I had to change the privacy setting on the facebook page, so it is no longer set to secret. It is a closed group and you do need to request to be added to the group. I apologize to the who wanted it set on secret. I did however change the name of the group so it did not include the date we are traveling.

Shea,
How do I get added to the FE list? I am brand new to cruising and the Disboards!!! It will be my two daughters (12 and 10) and me... We already have a fish extender on order! Thanks!!!
