Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

I had a nightmare about the cruise last night. I had packed clothes for everyone but me.

Too bad it didn't occur to you in your dream to go to the gift shop and buy all new clothes and charge it to your KTTW card! They've got some pretty cute stuff. In fact, I might 'accidentally' forget to pack a few things next time. ----- New wardrobe, oh darn.

Regarding the post about camping in Ludington...yes it's beautiful there! We did that last summer. We try someplace new just about every year, though more than once we've driven to the Pinery in Canada. This summer we are going to try PJ Hoffmaster state park which I think is between Muskegon and Grand Haven somewhere.

Hello Everyone!!! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend :) We were super busy celebrating DS's 7th birthday so I didn't get a chance to check in here.

We spent Friday at Disneyland, where DS was able to "captain" the Mark Twain (drive the boat, LOL) and then we had a very special lunch at Club 33 (I have to throw that out there to see if anyone besides mjvans know what it is, LOL). It was a very special Disney day indeed :-) It got me even more excited for our WDW trip next month and then this one!!!!

Then Sunday was a family swim party at my Mom's, and since we had so much extra food, we did it again on Monday ;-)

Crystal - awesome job on the first page! Thanks for putting that all together for us. Hum, we may need to ask the dis-signers (sp?) to make a Deck 7 club graphic too

EcbLovesMickey - too funny about the dream. Yikes, LOL.

It is so great seeing all the new faces and extra activity on this thread. We are going to have a blast!! I can't wait to meet you all in person!

Ohhh, and I just got back from the post office where I mailed off my passport renewal package and also processed the applications for DD and DS (woo hoo - check, check and check).

Hello! :wave2: Love the idea of the Deck 7 Club DISign! :thumbsup2 I will get to work on that right away! Also...I am still looking out for some more information about the Mango Rum for our graphic. I could just ask for something generic...but was trying to tie it in with a certain brand...any suggestions? :confused3

Hey DontRushMe - No worries with the broken leg on the Mango Rum Run! Your fellow DISers would take good care of you...along with our totes of rum, of course! pirate:

jetskigrl - How was Disneyland? I heard that WDW was not as crowded as usual over this past holiday...I guess the economy is lessening the crowds. :confused3

Oh for my big, exciting news...:rolleyes1 We just booked the 21st-27th of December at WDW using the extended free dining plan! We are very excited!!! :dance3: We love to vacation over holidays! The only downfall will be the crowds! :scared1: That's where the touring plans and crowd calendars are very useful! :upsidedow

Well I hope that everyone's week is off to a great start!

That is so funny, we are headed to Silver Lake Sand Dunes this week. The Pinery is one of husbands favorite places. You will love that area! Sunsets are great!

That is so great about WDW, we love it there at Christmas! A busy day in WDW is better than no day!

Thanks for having my back, of course we will be vary careful, no broken bones on our Rum Run! Love the graphic idea, but not very creative, no ideas.

Disneyland was surprisingly quiet on the 2nd. I was expecting it to be packed since it was the last day before the summer block outs started for the lower passes and even the deluxe would be blocked out for the rest of the long weekend (and they were going to be running the 4th of July fireworks that night too). But it was not nearly the crowds that I was expecting.

WOO HOO on your December trip. We always make a visit to Disneyland during the holiday season, but we avoid the weeks right around Christmas (it is just too crazy for us).

Hello!

I'm so envious Crystal--that will be an awesome Christmas vacation with the mouse! I have always wanted to go down there to see the Christmas decorations. Shoot, even if you don't spend much time at the parks it will be nice to just hang out at the resort & enjoy the atmosphere!

Love Michigan at this time of year & our endless possibilities with vacation choices. DH & I haven't been camping since we added the boys--I've gotten away from the tent & sleeping bags & have moved onto condo rentals lately. Our favorite destination is South Haven--their beach is just like Florida's! Ludington is so pretty & they have one of the best campground in the state. We went to Silver Lake last year--loved the Mac Woods dune buggy ride! PH Hoffmeister is supposed to be one the of the top campgrounds too--can't beat that location with choices of things to do. I have always wanted to go to Grand Haven to the musical fountain. Are you going to MI Adventure?

It's hot enough in MI right now--I can't imagine what you're going through on the East coast Crystal! We lost our power last night for about 5 hours--talk about bad timing with a heat advisory in effect for us until tomorrow!

ECB--maybe that's why your were dreaming about not having any clothes, too much summer heat! I agree with KKids, it would be a great excuse to go shopping!

Jetskigirl--sounds like a dream birthday for your DS! Glad you had a great time!

Crystal--I had no idea that we had so many choices of Rum stores. Is there one in particular that is really close to the ship? I'll try to play around on the computer a bit to see where the shops are located--you would think that one would stand out from the rest! Or...maybe we need to just go rum store hopping to make sure we don't miss anything?! :rotfl2:

Speaking of drinking--are any of you planning on doing any of the tastings on the ship? They sound like a lot of fun & I think it would be even more fun to have people that you know in on it! I'm open for any of them--I heard the beer one is great, the martini one sounds really good too! Hey, at least you can blame the movement of the ship for not being able to walk straight! :rotfl:

Everyone stay cool!
Kathryn

Happy Friday! :yay: We are one week closer to our April 3rd, 2011 sail date! :yay:

And I am one week out from my vacation with my MIL's entire family in Pigeon Forge! :scared1: We have planned out some really cool things to do...so it should be fun. I am not really a mountain person...I grew up here on the east coast...so the beach is more my thing. But I am glad that my kids get to do some river rafting, tubing and site-seeing. :goodvibes I'll let you all know about the personality differences and clashes upon my return! :upsidedow You know how families are! :flower3:

Hey - Kathryn...Count me in for the beer or martini tasting class onboard! Since we will not know ahead of time the exact times of the classes...maybe we can just appoint someone to pin-point the exact class (Once onboard) and put a message on everyone's door (Or maybe their deck...or something...) Sounds like fun!

As far as the heat...I have lived here all my life...and this has been one of the worst summers for both heat and lack of rain. It just rained here a few minutes ago for about 10 minutes. That has been the only rain that we have received in the past three weeks! It has just been hot, hot, hot...with no thunderstorms or anything...really weird and unusual! We are looking for a slight break today from the heat...Who knows? :confused3

I hope that everyone has a great weekend! Enjoy!

As far as the countdown ticker...the way that I usually do it is to find someone else's ticker that I like...click on it or go to that website listed...and begin to make your own. After you finish, copy the link that is made for discussion boards over to your signature here on the boards. Have fun!princess: Crystal

I did the ticker but when I transferred it to my signature line it didn't work. I just copied and pasted the html code line that it gave me but that's all it showed on my signature line. What am I doing wrong?

Use the link that says "PseudoHTML, UBBCode or BBCode"...it should start with [url... The plain HTML link won't work for these boards. I hope that this helps! :cutie: Let me know...

Back online after a week off when my MIL was visiting (don't get me started). I cannot wait for this cruise to start. Anyone else going to try and lose some weight before we sail too?

Bought our plane tickets last week. So excited. This is our first back to back cruise. The girls can't wait...

 Hey EcbLovesMickey and disneytraceyl!

EcbLovesMickey - So you got the MIL last week...I get her and her entire family next week! :scared1: Luckily my MIL is really not too bad...it's my husband's sister that is totally horrible to be around. Thank goodness we decided to get a cabin with my husband's aunt and her family (all boys and close to my boy's age.) That should be tons of fun...minus the entire family activities that are planned throughout the week! :upsidedow Anyhow...it's still a vacation...not Disney...but a vaca!

Oh and about losing weight before the cruise...yes...I am going to work on my weight...or er...shrinking certain body cells and increasing the muscle ones! Just last night my husband was putting together our new eliptical machine...we also ordered one of those AB circle pro things...we have read some really good reviews about that one! I used to be a runner, but my knees are totally shot...so we are switching to these new machines...I'll keep you posted! :cutie: Also...my oldest wants to get more in shape...and my youngest thinks he has a six pack...so he wants to do the AB thing...we shall see!

disneytraceyl - Plane tickets!!! :woohoo: One step closer to being on the Disney Dream! The best part about plane tickets is that, for us, it means that we are definitely vacationing on those dates...no matter what! It's a great feeling! :thumbsup2

I hope that everyone is off to a great week!

Hey All,
Just popping by really fast to say Hi!!! I am knee deeping in planning for our August trip so I'm afraid that I have been neglecting this thread. But I'll be back strong after August 14th, that is for sure, LOL.

OMG just got the FE list and we already have over 20 kids!!! I know they will all be so excited, heck I'm excited already!!!

:) We usually go to MI Adventure, but honestly it ws so hot this week, we just decided to stay close to the pools and the beach. Have you been? My girls really like it, small enough tto dop in one day.

Speaking of drinking--are any of you planning on doing any of the tastings on the ship? They sound like a lot of fun & I think it would be even more fun to have people that you know in on it! :confused3 Do they still have teh tasting on a 4 day cruise? I thought it was only for the longer cruises?

Back online after a week off when my MIL was visiting (don't get me started). I cannot wait for this cruise to start. Anyone else going to try and lose some weight before we sail too?

:) Yes I am going to try to loose some weight before we cruise. Starting today since we are home from vacation. Should we start a weight loss thread? I would love to have fellow cruisers to share progress with. I would but I don't know how. I am impressed I learned how to post a reply with multiple quotes. It took me a while! This is all so new to me!

OMG just got the FE list and we already have over 20 kids!!! I know they will all be so excited, heck I'm excited already!!!

LOL - I am really glad to have this cruise to look forward to when I get back from WDW (it should help relieve some of the post-WDW depression, LOL). I am excited about the FE too. It is great to see how many are already participating :cool1:

About the weight loss...well, add me to that group. I was supposed to be working on it before my August vacation but I seem to be going the wrong direction. So I would love to have help keeping me motivated to get in better shape before our cruise!!!!

Thanks Kathryn! It was an amazing lunch, for sure. One thing that I never get enough of at DL is hearing about the history of Walt and the park (and we have met many CMs that share in that). So getting to experience Club 33 was a dream come true for us :)

Oh, I didn't even know they did tastings. Better schedule that for a day other than on the Mango Rum run :rotfl2: My Mom and I did a wine tasting while we were taking the Amtrak Coast Starlight up the coast. It was quite fun to walk back to our room after that (since it is no easy task to walk on the train in the first place, LOL).

I hear everyone about the weight loss. Include me.
Can't wait until the cruise. Everyone is excited here. Hoping to start my fish extender soon and make one for my mom & dad. This will be there first cruise.
Took out the passports today to make sure we are all set.
Happy Summer... Camping this weekend for my daughters fourth birthday....
