I looked through some of the other boards for Wonder and Magic cruises...and some of them have a separate thread for teens and such. Thoughts???

I ordered an FE thingy from ebay yesterday for my door. Even my girls are on the look out for the perfect ideas. Wish I was more crafty.

I am heading out early tomorrow morning for TN! We are all packed...thank goodness...and have an 8 hour drive ahead of us. I hope that everyone has a great week! Is pin trading on DCL as big as it is in the parks? Just trying to decide if we should bring the pins or leave them home this time.

We will definitely bring our pins/lanyards for trading. I wouldn't say it's AS big a deal as the parks; many employees don't wear/trade pins, but a few head servers and hosts in the dining rooms wear their pins and the employees at the guest services desk wear them. A few times during the cruise there are pre-arranged times listed in the Navigator to trade pins in the lobby with the captain, cruise director, and/or other crew members. It's worth it. You can also buy DCL pins in the gift shop and if you get called on stage to do one of the game shows, the prize is sometimes a Mouseketeer pin!

Hi everyone! It seems like forever since I have posted here! Forgot how crazy busy summer was!! Love it though! When the sun is shining we are out enjoying sun by the pool or heading to waterslides or open waters! I love summer! It is my favorite season for sure! Guess that is why I love Florida so much! Its like summer there all the time!!
But with summer comes fires so my husband has been busy!!
Excited about our trip to WDW in just a few weeks~ Can't wait to meet jetskigrl at the dessert buffet! Have been working out like crazy so I can splurge on some brownies that night, and be in total shape for our mango rum run too!!
I found some really cute Fe gifts the other night and just had to get them! Gosh, I hope I remember where I put them months from now! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi everyone! I'm back from the mountains of TN...and about 100,000 other vacationers! You want to talk about crowded, car jammed streets...I don't ever want someone to say that they don't do Disney because of the crowds! The Pigeon Forge - Gatlinburg areas of the Great Smokey Mountains is ridiculously crowded with terrible traffic patterns!


OK...now that I said that...We had a great time and did some awesome things like rafting and tubing and hiking. I did find out that my family much prefers the beach...but we had a great time! Oh...and we got to see a real bear in the forest...that was the highlight of our trip!


Next...if anyone was wondering where all our DISers were...I found them...over on our new Weight Loss Challenge thread! Please come on over and say hello and join in...if you want too!


Now...down to cruise business...Yes...bring your pins! And if you trade the new vinylmations...bring them also! The cast members in the shops are great about helping you and your children find the pin or the vinyl that they want or are looking for! And the cruise sometimes has great cruiseline-only pins and vinylmations! So bring your money!!!


Ok...that's it for now. I am glad to be home...we start a new baseball tournament for MD in two weeks. That should take up most of our time for the next few weeks. Then it is on to our Liberty of the Seas cruise! Like many of you...the vacations in August are coming up quickly!!! The excitement is building!!!

I wanted to share a gift idea. The photo below is of three Vinylmations that Disney has created.


Background: Vinylmations are creations in the form of Mickey Mouse, but take on the characteristics of another Disney theme. These new Disney items are being bought and traded in the parks and onboard the cruise-ships.


The red one is titled "Smokestack" and is to resemble the DCL cruise smokestack. The middle one is goofy and comes from "Have a Laugh" series. And the last one is a Castaway Members only vinyl that has the DCL ship on it.


The vinyls sell for 9.95 and most come in a blind-box...meaning you don't know which one you are going to get. I purchased the first two off of ebay for my boys for gifts. I didn't want to chance it with the blind-boxes...and the ebay prices are very reasonable. The last one in the picture was sold only on the cruise-ships to Castaway Members for 14.95, and it came in a special tin. These are sold out, but can still be purchased on ebay for a slightly higher price...still a great gift and collectible!


There are a few other DCL only Vinylmations that can be found on ebay...they are highly sought after...sold-out onboard...and very pricey...but again...a great gift and collectible.


Anyhow...as you can tell from my signature...I love Vinylmations and keep up with the old and new releases. They are becoming very popular...and just like pins...a great thing to buy and trade and keep!

Well, my kid's passports arrived (woo hoo). Now if mine would just show up, LOL. One less thing to worry about.

My DD out of nowhere Saturday night said that she would really like to go on a cruise sometime. Hum....... It is so hard keeping it a secret, but I'm still holding out until Christmas

If I can just get this packing thing figured out, I will be good to go, LOL.

Thanks about the touring plans offer! I stumbled across it the other day and that was a big mistake, LOL. I have our plans all laid out and then I looked at the per-park levels and the lowest crowd level parks only match our plans on 2 days, LOL. At this point I think it is too late to try shifting around ADRs and stuff so we are going to just stick with what we have and hope for the best!!

OMG...this packing is going to wear me out, LOL. I am good with the clothes part since it is all t-shirts/tanks and shorts. But it is all the accessories that are causing me grief, LOL. All the phone charges, DS chargers, cameras, more chargers, neck coolers, cooling towels, behind the door hanger, blister bandaid/moleskin, various types of shoes, spray bottles, sunscreen, snacks for the plane, swim googles, water bottles, etc, etc, etc (OK, where is my little guy pulling out his hair, LOL).

Did I miss the link with the graphic for the mango rum run? I thought someone had been working on it? If it is not done yet maybe we could make it say "mango rum run maniacs" ? I think that would make a great magnet for the doors. Although I am not the creative one.

jetskigrl - I know that you don't need one more thing to pack...but having been to WDW many times in August...consider getting some antipersprant/deodorant spray. We would spray our feet each morning before going into the parks...this would help keep down moisture, thus helping with blisters and such. We did it both with sandals and with tennis shoes. We are now addicted to deodorant spray...it's great for all sorts of places!


Your list looks great...don't you love all the chargers!!! Let us know how your packing goes...we have to pack for our cruise soon...packing for a cruise totally stinks! And having to get on an airplane before cruising is even worse! JMO! I won't rant right now...


Hi Dawn! We haven't put in for a graphic to be made yet. I was hoping that someone would know what kind of Mango Rum we were searching for...or should we just go with whatever for the DISign? I like the "Mango Rum Run Maniacs!" Let me know...
