On the advice of many on this board, I ordered a vacation planning video which arrived at my house 1 week ago. Again, as advised, I called CRO and asked if any codes were attached to my name. Sadly, CRO had a hard time finding me ... it took my cast member about 5 minutes and 20 questions to locate me. But finally! He found me, corrected my incorrect email address and *insert drum roll here .................................*

no code :sad2: So it definintely helps to call CRO and ask. Even if there aren't any codes assigned to you, at least you can confirm that you're in their system which GREATLY increases your chances :rotfl:

Best of luck to all!

You are not alone. I got my dvd almost 3 weeks ago and I have not recieved a code via email or snail mail.

I requested my first WDW planning DVD in December, 2007. Within a week I booked a trip at SSR for February, 2008. Of course we had no code for that trip, but seemed to get a very discounted rate through our travel agent ($315 a night for a 2BR villa). Of course we had a great time and upon our return I called WDW about booking for November, 2008. They also had a hard time finding us in the system. When they did, our address was wrong and they did not have our email address. This is very strange as I was receiving weekly email from Disney and had received P&PP tickets, park maps, etc in the mail. The CM also informed me that we did not have any codes to our name, but encouraged me to book a room for September because she thought there would be "good deals". She wouldn't say "free dining", but I knew what she was getting at. Since we really wanted to travel in November, I didn't book anything for September. With our updated info in the Disney computer (there most be more than one system), I was hoping to receive a code before the end of April so I could book 180 days out. On a whim, I requested another DVD last week (one per calendar year, I think). Amazingly it arrived on Tuesday of this week. Guess what showed up in my email today???? A 30% off discount code!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

So, the moral of the story...

1. Call Disney and confirm your mailing and email address. Even if you think they have, it may not be where it counts.
2. Request the DVD....apparently once a year
3. Check your email - don't delete Disney emails without reading

It worked for us. I hope it works for you! Tomorrow morning, our travel agent is booking us at the Poly for the second week of November!!!:cheer2:

Thank you! :) I hope now that Disney has your correct information, you'll have the same luck we did. The CM I spoke to was very helpful and suggested calling back weekly to inquire about codes. She was kind of vague, but said it pays to be nosy and ask lots of questions. I took this to mean they may not mention an offer unless you specifically ask for it.

Good luck!:thumbsup2

hmmmmm - I always feel a little squeamish calling too much, but if it helps, I can be that squeaky wheel :)
