Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

I only need a room for one night (prior to our cruise on the Dream). We would arrive at WDW to Animal Kingdom Lodge Arusha View Room on November 27, 2014 and depart on November 28, 2014.

1 adult / 1 child (10)

Teeheeheee....just a weekend trip for myself & my youngest son Thanksgiving Weekend. Leaving DH, DS19 & DD17 at home :)

I had asked about what happens when using a Paypal balance and want to mention that I was only charged what the exchange rate posted on Paypal said. Its not as good of a rate but it wasn't bad either. So if you have paypal and want to you can add funds to your account and then use a paypal balance (if you have a credit card that charges the fee)

Hi again and what a wonderful time you'll both have on the Dream and yes the UK-Expedia price for the night of the 27th November in an Arusha view room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is £168.29, so about $281.

Disney's rack rate for that night is $625 so saving you $344 or 55%.

And $281 is the final price unless you have a currency fee on your card and if that's the case it shouldn't be more than $290.

Such a shame it's only for one night, hope you choose to use UK-Expedia and best of luck if you do.

I pulled the trigger...booked CS for 6 nights in Oct and did my park tickets 5 days Disney and 1 day Universal for 3 adults thru orbitz/ebates! My total savings vs booking thru WDW was $903.80!!! Wow!!! Thanks everyone for the feedback and tips/help! Our airfare will be free with SW points! Just gotta save for food and souvenirs!! Super excited!!!
Great news and another good saving on the room rate and even better with the free airfare and the added ebates savings for tickets, well done.......

That's good to know, many thanks for the follow up and we'll post a link on the first page to your thread.

Total rental for a mini van from Saturday to Sunday was $378.00, At the time of booking the savings was appx. $125.00. I just checked the US Expedia site and it looks like I could get a mini van for $428.00 total, not quite as good of savings but, still a savings.
Yes, I did rent from Budget, it was a tad higher but they did not have the restrictions like the other companies.
We are traveling in 4 weeks, can't wait, I am from the Midwest and I am DONE with this winter!!:beach:
Many thanks for the follow-up and there's still a little saving so that's good news, did the US-Expedia price of $428 include Collision & Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, Third-Party Liability Insurance and Additional Liability Insurance?

And please post your experience at Budget and hope those 4-weeks comes around soon for you, we're off in 16-day's and so looking forward to some sunny days and warm nights, weather over in the UK has been awful, rain, rain, rain and more rain,

I think I may try this. If I use my PayPal Account do I still need to contact my Credit Union?
Just curious, because if I do I will have to wait till tomorrow when they re-open.

I am still nervous....but saving $280+ dollars sounds good to me.

Made a couple of reservations :thumbsup2. Thanks for the info!

I emailed expedia to get my Disney confirmation number but they emailed me and said I had to call Disney directly? Has anybody else received this answer? I thought it was odd :confused3

I don't think you need to as you'll be paying PayPal.com first and then using PP to pay Expedia.co.uk. But if you've linked your bank account to your PayPal account then what about moving about $300 from there into your PayPal account and then use that for the UK-Expedia payment? Even with fees you should still save around $320 against the rack rate for that one night, best of luck......

Wow, a couple of reservations, great news and hopefully your Expedia Itinerary will automatically changed in the next few days from booked to confirmed and with a 12-digit reservation number beginning with 4xxxxxxxxxxx.

And no you shouldn't and possibly can't get that info from Disney (unless you get through to a very helpful castmember) it has to be done through UK-Expedia and if not already done so check out feedback from other DIS'ers on this issue and copied below from page one.....

You will receive an Expedia Itinerary number but you'll require a second 12 digit number beginning 4xxxxxxxxxxx so to access your reservation on My Disney Experience. Click on #125, #34 and #99.

After a few days the second number should automatically be added to your Expedia Itinerary, if not you will need to e-mail Expedia customer support.. Click on #129, #86, #286, #287, #332, #325.

Hope the numbers turn up soon and have a great couple of vacations.

I did not realize it took 3-5 days to transfer funds TO my PayPal account. Geesh. I may just use my own bank account, I do not want to lose this great room now that I am ready to do this, I want to book today and start this process.

Also, should I go ahead and cancel my reservation thru Walt Disney World that I currently have or should I wait until I am confirmed through all this?

We would wait until a 12-digit reservation number showed up on the Expedia itinerary which you'll need to access MDE. That could take a few days and if it doesn't appear you'll need to email Expedia and sorry to read about the 3-5 day delay with funding PayPal. It should be okay to wait but there's always a chance that that room/rate could get sold-out or Expedia pulls this offer, but we think it's based around the UK-Disney room offers which is promoted to end 3rd March, check it out at http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/Special-Offers.asp?ID=45 have a good day......

Thank you!! I think I will just call my Credit Union this morning and let them know that I will be making this transaction and not to deny it. Hopefully that works...

NOW I just have to decide exactly where I want to stay.....lol :confused3

Poly-Garden View Club Level
Contemporary Resort-Tower Bay Lake View
Beach Club-Lagoon View Club Level
Animal Kingdom Lodge - Arusha View

Good luck with your choice and what about the Yacht in a standard view at club level for about $343 against a rack rate of $757 so a 54% saving and what a good place to start your cruise from.

Update: I made my reservation Wed night, its still saying Booked! I emailed them to get the 12 digit conf# to link up with Disney and this is the email they sent back...

Thank you for contacting Expedia.co.uk

Please contact the hotel directly at WDW.CRO.WHOLESALE5@disney.com for any assistance in this regard as this is taken care from hotel's end.

Thank you for choosing Expedia.co.uk

Kind regards,

Anurag

I'll give it a lil more time and see if I get a conf#! It's still showing pending on my cc, so maybe that has something to do with the Booked status instead of Confirmed :)

Hi and thanks for posting Expedia's reply, don't know if anyone else has been giving Disney's Wholesales email address before and if that's the case it might well be worth sending an email this morning to WDW.CRO.WHOLESALE5@disney.com and ask for your Disney reservation number and copy in Expedia's response. And if you get a positive answer then please let us know and we'll post that info on the first page, best of luck.

I was given that same response last week. I sent an email to the wholesales site and no one ever got back to me. I then sent a message through facebook to expedia uk and they called me a few hours later with the confirmation number and also facebook messaged me the same confirmation. A little bit of a hassle, but worth the savings:)

Well, I booked my room, calling my credit union and they put a note on my account so that card services will not cancel it.

I almost booked Beach Club Lagoon View Club Level because of the great price, but I have stayed at BC now twice (although not Club Level). I totally kicked Animal Kingdom Lodge out....lol.....and decided to stay here...I wish it was Club Level, but I will love it just the same. We just stayed here last month Atrium Club Level and it would have been nice to have Concierge snag me my Chef Mickey's reservation, but I shall do it.

Thanksgiving Night....11/27-11/28
Contemporary Resort
Tower - Bay Lake View
1 AD/ 1 CH (10)

WDW Website: $691.88
Expedia UK: $344.77
That is a savings of half off!!!!:woohoo::cool1:

My current reservation (Prior to this wonderful offer and that I will cancel once I get my Disney Confirmation number, which I assume will be next week) is this:

Animal Kingdom Lodge
Pool View

WDW Website: $468.00

So, I am still saving $123.33 over that hotel with my above discount to CR which I like so much better than AKL!!!!:woohoo:

NOW, I just have to patiently wait to see if everything works. :(:confused3

I have emailed Disney wholesale and sent Expedia a message on fb! I'll let y'all know what I find out :)

Does anyone know if this is correct, that the hotel and not Expedia is supposed to provide the confirmation number? I would think that since we booked through Expedia, it would be Expedia's responsibility to provide that.

I sent them a Facebook message yesterday and was called at 8 am with my confirmation numbers. They were super friendly. We are now set on my disney experience!
