Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

(I have one booked for mid-March and I intend to post my experience on this thread after I get checked in.)
ETA: My Magic Bands for the March reservation were just delivered today!
Not long to go Marionnette and looking forward to your March post, also good to hear you've received your Magic Bands, we're sure other DIS'ers especially those thinking of booking but are a little dubious will also be happy to read that.

And for those just joining this thread and looking for an early June vacation then here's two examples for 2-adults and up to 2-children from Friday 30th May through to checking out on Monday 9th June, 10-nights room-only.

Disney's All-Star Sports Resort or All-Star Music Resort in a standard room.
Rack rate for those 10-nights is around $1,615 and with Disney's spring offer the rate reduces to about $1,288, that's both on the Disney site and US-Expedia.
But if you book those same 10-nights on UK-Expedia it will only cost £567.64 in British Pounds, approximately $948 so a further $340 saving over the spring offer.
Rack rate-$1,615 and UK-Expedia rate-$948: total savings of $667 about 41% on rack.

Or for those looking for a deluxe resort what about Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in a savannah view room.
Rack rate for those 10-nights is $5,050 and with Disney's spring offer the rate reduces to around $4,041.
But if you book those same 10-nights on UK-Expedia it will only cost £1,890, approximately $3,160 so a further $881 saving on the spring offer.
Rack rate-$5,050 and UK-Expedia rate-$3,160: total savings of $1.890 about 37% on rack.

Good luck with your search and please post your UK-Expedia savings and follow-up experiences for other DIS'ers, also please let us know if you find a mistake above or a better offer, many thanks......

I did it... I pulled the ripcord!:cool1: can't believe I did it this early for next fall, but I wanted to tack on a day or so at beginning and end of a stay at Disney, wanted a value resort and to use ME (it's so easy to use ME)
OP and others THANKYOU for all the advice, and the sticky threads in post #1....I opted to pay with my cc using GBP, it saved a couple of bucks, and no foreign transaction fee for my card....:cool1:

oops sorry, exp.uk saved me approx 40 bucks per night over the other options

Just wanted to further update that my Uk Expedia reservation switched from Booked to Confirmed today and had a 4xxxxxxxxxxx number listed. I was able to link that number into MDE with no problem and now the reservation shows up there.

Thanks so much for posting this! We are saving a ton!

Do you mind sharing how long it took to get the confirmation? I only booked yesterday so I am just wondering when I will get my confirmation. Thanks!

Could you book for next year on this offer or is it only for this year? I can't find any rooms available for next March.

If you book the hotel through expedia.uk can you link to Disney and later add the dining plan?

You and I both! I think the dates for 2015 have to be released first. From what I gather, this will be around July of this year. I am excited to mock up my next vacation and hope to see some savings! :cool1:

Disney has not yet published room rates for next March. As inconvenient as it is, they usually publish rates for the following year in July. You can reserve a room more than a year out, but you won't know the price until after the July release. Tried to book with AAA last year for the following year. They said they wouldn't know their promo rates until the rates were published in July. There are exceptions like bounce back offers, but no site other than Disney is going to offer rooms unless Disney is running a specific promo. Best place to look would be the UK Disney World site. The Expedia rates seem to follow the ones offered there, but US people can get them.

Sorry, but at the moment you can only book WDW resorts up until check-out on 1st January 2015 on UK-Expedia, but WDW-UK released 2015 dates a little while ago so we Brit's can now make bookings up until December 31st 2015.

And possibly one of the best discounts for a stay over the last few weeks of this year on UK-Expedia can be found at one of the All Star's resorts in a standard room for £90.30 ($151) per night against a rack rate of $198 so a saving of 23.5%.

Not sure if those budget rooms normally get discounted over the Holiday period and by over 20% especially on Christmas Day and New Years Eve, anyone experienced such a discount on those days before?

Link yes but not eligible for dining plan.

Thank you! I just booked CS for Oct the price was £477, it came out to $798 on my credit card...normal price on Expedia was almost $1250! Not as good as some of y'all's but I'll take it, plus if something better comes along I can always cancel :) Wish we could've added the dining plan but oh well! What about theme park tickets, how are y'all buying them??

Hi Brenda and that's great news and thanks for following this up,:thumbsup2, did you go with Budget and approximately how much could someone save over a US rental?

Also how beneficial is the UK cover which includes in the price Collision & Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, Third-Party Liability Insurance, City/Airport Surcharges, Road Tax, VAT/Tax and Additional Liability Insurance?

Have a good trip and hope it's soon.....

Total rental for a mini van from Saturday to Sunday was $378.00, At the time of booking the savings was appx. $125.00. I just checked the US Expedia site and it looks like I could get a mini van for $428.00 total, not quite as good of savings but, still a savings.
Yes, I did rent from Budget, it was a tad higher but they did not have the restrictions like the other companies.

We are traveling in 4 weeks, can't wait, I am from the Midwest and I am DONE with this winter!!:beach:

I am sure this is answered somewhere here but I have to leave for work....
Can I book a room through the Expedia UK website? I live in the Southeastern United States. Do you have to be from the UK? Because I can get my room for well over 50% off if I do.....which would be great.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated....

I bought mine through ebates/orbitz offer also mentioned here on the budget board. Ebates is currently offering 20% back on Orbitz entertainment purchases, which includes Disney tickets (you pay for them now, and get a check back for the 20%). This probably won't last much longer, I'm surprised it's still there for a third day. 5 day park hoppers are $273 vs Disney's site of $370. Only issue is you can't link them until you pick them up at the park(though some people have reported calling and getting them linked), so no advance FP+.

Hi MichellelovesMickey and hope you weren't late for work and yes you can make a booking on UK-Expedia, best to check out our first thread as there's quick links to many questions/answers which other DIS'ers have experienced and posted.

Also make sure you check out thread #80 posted by ProudMommyof2 at /www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=50559781&postcount=80

Good luck and please keep us updated with any more questions and especially if you make a booking.

And here's a few more examples for any new-comers for later this year.

Wilderness Lodge in a woods view room between the 1st December and checking out by the 8th for about $230 a night against a rack rate of $387 for weekday and $429 for weekend nights so saving between 40-46% for 2-adults and up to 2-children.

And for those looking to arrive just before Thanksgiving and though to checking out by 8th December at Club level, then what about at the Polynesian Resort in a garden view club at $437 for any of those nights. That's against a varying rack rate of between $682 and $822, so saving between 35-46% per night for 2-adults and up to 3-children.

I will try to check this out, at work now on my iPhone, lol, just nervous....lots of info & steps it seems, or am I making it more difficult than it is?

I am used to putting in my info & printing out my confirmation. I am terrified to do this and then the room be outrageous at the end (I only have my Bank Visa Debit Card to use) OR to show up at the resort and my room not show up in reservations. I have always booked through Disney Travel Company.

Just nervous....like it when someone else handles this....lol...but I want my room for only $281 USD instead of $625.

There's still a little time so don't rush into this before you're 100% happy to do so and in the meantime check out some of the other threads from those who have already booked and also check with your bank/credit card to see if there's any currency charges and don't forget you need to let them know before hand if you go ahead with a booking.

Must admit that looks such a good saving, what dates and resort room are you looking at, we'll recheck the room cost so to make sure?

I pulled the trigger...booked CS for 6 nights in Oct and did my park tickets 5 days Disney and 1 day Universal for 3 adults thru orbitz/ebates! My total savings vs booking thru WDW was $903.80!!! Wow!!! Thanks everyone for the feedback and tips/help! Our airfare will be free with SW points! Just gotta save for food and souvenirs!! Super excited!!!
