Just returned from WDW yesterday, and I gotta tell you guys, get the Dining Plan!!! If we had paid by the meal, we would have spent around $150-175 per day. All of our sit down meals were over $100 alone! Granted, we would not have ordered desserts and some appetizers, but the plan is well worth the money! :cheer2: We were so full, that we did not use our snack plans, so we brought home 4 cookies from the Bakery plus 4 Mickey Head rice krispies for later magic!! I know that Disney has to be making money on this or they wouldn't do it, but I don't know how! I just hope they keep it around for a while!

I hope they do the free dining plan again in 2006. I couldn't take them up on it this year (no money to go) but I would love to do it next year if we could!

I agree, the Dining Plan is well worth it. We used it on our October trip and we saved over $450. We enjoyed our TS meals, and we would have chosen to go to one TS meal a day even without the plan, so it was great for us!

Ok here's my question. Yes everyone saved all this money. But did you really? I've run the numbers 3 times because of all the raving on here, and based on what we normally eat (never an appetizer, entree and dessert) I come out approximately the same cost. So yes, you save money if you get all that food, but we don't eat all that food.

And if all I want to eat for lunch one day is a turkey leg, I don't want to feel guilty. So, I just can't make it work that this is a good deal for us.

It comes down to this, If you are going to be buying all the meals then it is a great deal. If you are like my family, not big eaters, then you will spend less without it.

You know the thing is, that when your on vacation you want to treat yourself with things that you normaly don't eat at home. That's what the dining plan was for us! With 3 kids, they wouldn't get a dessert at each meal, that way the do!!! With the meal plan its no worries, only fun and nice meals!!!! :goodvibes

Ummm...ok, I know I'm supposed to be a 'vet' and already know this stuff.

We're going in Jaunuary; where are the details about the dining plan?

thanx.

For me and my frugal DH the dining plan is a huge splurge. One our previous trips we have only has two TS meals. We share, we did everything to not spend a lot on food. So I know I'm paying a lot more for the dining plan, but because of it I get to eat at all the places that we wouldn't eat before. I choose to stay at POP and save money there, so I could use it for food.

So the dp is only worth it to you if you want it to be! :teeth:
