My day started off ok, got to sleep in and then headed out to shop. Even the shopping went well and I think I've pretty much finished my Christmas shopping. That's when the day turned for the worse. I was checking out of the last store, planning to go home and wrap. DH called and told me that Colby (ds3) had cut his face while riding the snowmobile with dh. It was bad enough that he thought we should take him to the ER. He required 5 stitches. We had to wait nearly 2 hours to be seen, then had to physically hold him down while they numbed the area and did the stitches. He has been out of it since. He is just laying around. The area of his face (cheek area to the left of his mouth) is really swollen as is his lip. It seemed to swell after all the numbing shots (and there were tons). He is drooling all over himself. Poor little guy. It was such a freak accident. They were riding on our lawn and hit a little bump. He slid forward and hit his cheek on the toggle switch for the handwarmers. They hadn't been outside for more than 10 minutes. We ride all winter long (we all wear helmets on the trails) and we have never gotten hurt. DH didn't put his helmet on as they were staying on the lawn and not riding hard or fast. Now we know that we must all wear helmets all the time. He in now on antibiotic 3 times a day and we have to go back in 2 days for a suture check and on Friday to have them removed. Looks like my week just got a little busier.

Here are pictures of the treats we made tonight. Both were really easy and very cute! DS will tell about making them for Share Time on Monday and we're sending them to school for his classmates.

He is very proud of his cookies!

Just got home from the ER with Brantley-Kate. She is still vomiting and having diarrhea. Gave her an IV and Phenergan. Also changed the antibiotic for her sinus infection and did breathing treatments. Poor thing has lost 4 pounds this week. Gotta go, she's sick again.

Oh no! Brantley-Kate, feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :guilty:

Hi everybody!

Just wanted to say hello before off to bed.I have been so busy this weekend.
Tomorrow is Erich's last day before Christmas break. His class sold ponsiettas and raised money to shop for 6 needy kids they adopted. So tomorrow morning there will be around 69 5th graders in Walmart! OY!:earseek: TG I'll only be in charge of 4!! After we're done shopping we'll be going back to school to wrap the gifts then have pizza and a party.I made 4 dozen cookies tonight.I'd never done it before but I made cookies from cake mix.Love them, they're so easy and quick to do. Perfect for school kids!

I also made these dough (non edible) ornaments for Erich's teachers...they sorta look like each teacher! :teeth:

Mr Goodson (he really is short!) Mrs Evatt (she's a doll in RL,her favorite color is purple),Mrs Ross (she has a frog on her shirt, she's the Science teacher) And Mrs Oliver (she's about 6 ft tall,is a rabid Tennessee fan and has curly blonde hair...we call it disco ball hair!!! :rotfl:

Deb..pooooor Colby! Hope he's all better real soon.

Denise...hope BK gets better soon!
I was looking at the picture of your kids with Santa and thinking "I know that Santa!" Yeah because his picture is sitting on my mantle with my DSS Jonathan when he was about 5!!! (he's 12 now!) Before I knew Joe he lived in Atlanta for about 10 years.I tried to scan the pic of Jon but my darn scnner isn't working.Joe's still out of town, won't be home until Fri. so I'll do it next weekend.

Bengal...love your cookies...your son is adorable.

Jen Welcome Home...can't wait to hear about your trip! Yuck what a homecoming!

I hope everybody is doing okay, those germs stay away! I'm really beat and need to head to bed...ALL those kidlet tomorrow!! I need my rest!!! ;)

Anyway I just wanted to tell y'all I was thinking about my DDAers! :goodvibes

Night!

ack I gotta go to bed...I keep looking and editing stuff I missed...Night for real! :flower:

Those ornaments are awesome! You all did a great job!

I actually woke up at 7 to go to the dentist and looked at my PDA... it's not until 2. So I could have slept more! Blah.

Ok, all caught up! Thanks for being (relatively) quiet this week! I was gone 2.5 days once and came back to 53 pages, and only 46 while I was gone! Nice of you all :goodvibes

I'll work on a trip report, pictures, etc later. DH needs to get on here to finalize details for his OSU interview. Tongiht and tomorrow.... yuck. I probably wont' be back on before the dentist, so if I don't feel like total crap I'll be on then!

One thing before I go, even though I have lots to share...

I had the DVC channel on one morning while getting ready (mostly because it was better than Stacey and her top 7 attractions hoohah on the WDW channel!). No mention of it, just watching it mostly for fun. Well that night, I was laying down ready to sleep and DH was flipping through channels and stopped there. I didn't dare say anything, because - as i've mentioned before - I think/thought he would have me committed to an institution for suggestiong "Disney for 49 years".

Well, the next morning, he turns the TV on, turns straight to the DVC channel and starts asking me all sorts of questions. After relaying some of the info from this thread recently, and that noboy really regrets it (especially since you can travel other places) he literally says to me "We should totally look into that after we graduate. It sounds awesome... seems like everyone would do it that could".

:earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Just thought I'd share. Nothing in the immediate works, but DEFINITELY more progress than I ever thought I'd make, and I didn't even do any of the work! :rotfl:

He was a scream - we laughed the whole way through the ceremony! I've never been to a wedding where the bride and groom were laughing at the altar before :rotfl:

Oh no! Too many ER trips for the DDA I'd say. I hope that the IVs and new meds are helping! Feel better, BK. :wizard: :grouphug:

Clare - loved the pictures. I think my favorites are the black & whites - especially on the one that DH is behind you and you are laughing. Love it!

Amy - thanks for the cookie dough recipe! The dough tastes great so I'm sure the cookies will be even better. I like that it seems like it won't be as crumbly as my usual sugar cookies. Too much travelling ahead for these cookies.

Well, I'm off to start the gingerbread cookie dough. Then it's pumpkin bread and Denise's pretzel wreath recipe! That must be a popular one because I almost couln't find the waffle pretzels at the store yesterday. It was only at the last second that I spotted one laying on its side. I got one of the last 2 bags!

I guess tonight isn't going to be cutting and baking night as the dough still has to chill. I'm only one night off and Santa comes in just two days!! (He's visiting on the Winter Solstice this year as we'll be travelling over Christmas and don't want to carry gifts across the country and back.)

Good grief, what am I thinking! I just impulsively decided to double the gingerbread recipe to make a house as well. Now my true addiction comes out!

That looks much better!

Can you do that in photoimpact?? I have a trial copy of photoshop cs and I know how to do it in there... I was thinking of how I could find a way to get a real copy of CS and lay photoimpact to rest... but now I may stick with it. I can see it does most of what photoshop does - but can't for the life of me work out how to add in new layers - without copying and pasting in new items... :confused3
