DDA MEET

Washington DC
July 14-16 or whatever that Friday - Sunday is!!
Depends on where I'm @ then.
Also as long as I don't get tear gassed like last time I was in DC. :scared:

DH called me about 10 minutes ago and said that he got to the entrance of the subdivison we live in and their were a few cars parked on the street and he could not drive in any farther it is 23 degrees and icy roads so he was going to have to walk home from the entrance. which is about 0.6 thenths of a mile. in the dark I hope he has a flashlight in the car. He just walked in said he fell on his but once.

Night all.
Long day @ work tomorrow.
On call & have that dishwasher to install.

Deb, Hope you and your Dad both have a better day tomorrow. Sending you love and prayers!

Oh, and everyone~ all my pictures are up. Took me 4 hours. YIKES! Enjoy them, and the final trip report is done too.

I made 3 boxes to rotate. They are too big to use all at once (too many bytes). I thought the pictures were awesome. Especially the night ones of the lights.

Try again. I didn't uncheck the box. I've made it public.

Rosiejo, the pictures are great. You looked amazing.

Oh, and on Disney Photopass, once you buy the photos how long does it take? Is there any way to buy it and then get it on-line, or do i have to wait for the "hard" copy?

 Thanks

Re photopass - what a FANTASTIC idea! Pay on the site and then give you the copyright so you can print as many as you like... I like ten of ours but cannot afford to pay over $120 for ten photos!! At least if I could make copies for the other three couples I could make it a bit cheaper by getting them to share the bill! Gotta narrow it down to 7 for the buy five get two free offer... hang on a minute did that end on December 5th??? AArrgghh better go check...

Glad to have you home Denise - loved your trip reports and photos BTW sounds like you had a truly magical trip :goodvibes

okay i'm curious do any of you DDA's home school. we are considering doing this with our DD.
We homeschool partially since our 1 son is having problems learning in Kindergarten. I think we'll be homeschooling all our kids next year due to various factors. If we could afford private, we would probably think about that as an option, but with 4 kids that would be too much. :teeth:

We are about 30 minutes (good traffice time) east of Beaverton near the Clackamas Town Center. How cool would that be to meet! Either way girlie- I think we're gonna meet between your family being here and my kids being in SLC. I haven't talked to any Dr.'s yet- I'm waiting for Christmas to be over and then I think I'm gonna at least go to some classes and see what this is all about.

Your DH is really cutting it close with the business trip isn't he!?!??! PIXIE DUST to you!
We live nearby! We're off Scholls Ferry Road in Beaverton. :goodvibes

Judging by all my posts in a row I may be the only one on now. Anyway.

Welcome back Denise.

My Dad was released from the hospital this morning. He actually seemed a little worse to me today, but the doctors sent him home. He aches from head to toe. I guess that is to be expected especially 48 hours after the accident. Hopefully the aches are at there worst now. He has small cuts all over is head that we hadn't noticed before. The vertigo is still really bad. Each time he moves he has to stop and wait for the vertigo to pass before he can walk or close is eyes. He is really scared as he says he just feels out of it. He is getting confused easily and is mixing up things that he has been told. I keep thinking that he has received so much info that he can't process all of it. He can't drive at all until the vertigo is gone. I stayed with him until 7:30 PM. My mom got home at 2 PM, but we made dinner and I helped her set up her new computer etc. When we left the hospital this morning Dad asked to go to see the truck. It looks worse than in the photo. It will probably be totaled. The mirrors on the drivers side were forced through that window and we think that is what he hit his head on and accounts for the broken glass in his hair. There was also a piston that shot into the cab through the back window. He's lucky that it didn't go right through him. I think that he thought that seeing the truck might bring his memory back, but not even a flash. After looking that truck over I think it is good that he can't remember. He is very emotional and is afraid to ever drive anything again since he isn't sure if he did something wrong to cause the accident. I tried to explain that it was an accident, not an on purpose and that it could have happened to anyone. In fact there was another train accident in our area this morning. **it happens and it isn't always good.

I got home tonight and everything hit me. I was a stressed out mess. My ds10 told my mom how cold he was at recess. Apparently he didn't wear his hat or gloves to recess, but he made it sound like I sent him to school without them. Truth is he had his snow suit at school as well as his hat and gloves, but he chose not to wear them. He was also wearing a fleece hoodie and didn't bother putting the hood up. DS8 forgot his glasses this morning so I had to bring them to him. The dogs apparently ran out of food tonight ( I was at the store last night and this afternoon, but dh didn't mention that we were close to running out) and dh expected me to run out tomorrow to get some. I can find ds8 snow pants from last year (he has his snow suit so it isn't a big deal, but when everything hits at once even the little things seem huge). I finally drew myself a bath and had a good cry. Dh said why don't you go to your DIS boards and just unwind, so here I am. I'm sure that I'll be fine tomorrow. I just have so much to do and lost 3 whole days. I have to remember to take baby steps and it will all get done.

Deb
Sending prayers to your family. It's hard when all the stress seems to hit at once. Hopefully things get better for your dad.

Can I tag along for tips and advice, too? :flower: DS will be 3.5 when we go. We are spending several days in San Diego - Sea World, Zoo, Animal Park, Beach, etc, plus Legoland and a week at DL (plus some Hollywood side trips). Anyone have any wisdom or tips to share about any of these places??? :goodvibes
We went to DL in August and are going back in a week and a half to see the Christmas stuff and those amazing fireworks.

I guess Amy secretly gave a sigh of relief when she realzed I would be in DC and not able to do a live from the delivery thread!! :rotfl:

Although we all know 99% of babies don't really like their due dates!!! :teeth:
That reminds me of my first pregnancy. I went to the Dr. the day before my due date (according to the ultrasound) and he checked me and said I wasn't ready at all so it would be another week or 2. That night I was up all night with horrible cramps, when I complained in the morning to my DH he timed my "cramps" and figured out I was well into labor. I just kept saying "We're not ready yet. We're supposed to have another week." :rotfl: So he was born on his due date regardless of what anyone else said. He still likes to do his own thing and not listen. Of course, all my others went well over their due date. With my last one, we tried every idea people had to try and get labor started and I still ended up induced. :guilty:

Congratulations to Amy and Kevin. And to Denise, I loved reading your trip reports and pictures. I hope your DS gets better quick. :wizard:

Triplefigs - loved your report and pictures. I wish I'd taken more, but I supose I was just so in awe seeing it all for the first time.

my3princes - hope your dad gets better soon. I hate to suggest - but you could leave a corner or two of the house undecorated if the thought of all you have to do is stressing you out.

Caught up now!

I read that only 5% of all babies are born on their due dates. My daughter was the only one of mine that hit that nail on the head. Christmas Day, no less.

Well, I just rolled out over 200 peanut butter balls (chocolate dipping will have to wait until tomorrow) and Kevin put together tree #1 and added lights. We're finally getting our act together around here. Of course, he just went upstairs, and he asked if I was coming up "soon." I told him I had to get caught up! :teeth:

Amy :)

Buckeyes? YUMMY!
