Oh - and I should also mention - I am not a big fan of authentic mexican - that is why I like Don Pablo's!!

Well, I have to admit. Authentic or not, I too LOVE Don Pablo's! :goodvibes

It's just funny. I went to Mexico for a month when I was in high school, and lots of others with us (all Americans) were APPALLED at the horrible food.

"You'd think they would make decent Mexican food here"... "this is NOT Mexican food"..... I swear I heard comments like that :rotfl:

Come to think of it, MOST of our Italian restaurants aren't all that authentic either, are they?

It's like that darn Beverly soda :crazy2: .... I guess companies really do have to market for different tastes. :earboy2:

That used to be me, too... what happened?!?!?!? :rotfl2:

Now, I'm a Type A Oldest Child Perfectionist with serious procrastination issues. I'm not sure how that came about, but let me tell you -- it's a combination that'll drive anybody CRAZY!

You've just described me to a T!!! I'm working on those procrastination issues, though...well, maybe tomorrow. :teeth:

I know, I know. :rolleyes1 But since the kids are having surgery, they get to pick dinner. That's their favorite! And I make awesome tacos, tamales, Mexican rice, refried beans, chips with queso dip. YUMMY! Ole! :teeth:

Maybe we should sing Feliz Navidad instead? :confused3
I'll be there in about 8 hours. I'll bring the margaritas!!!!

Jennifer, are you my twin???!!! (just 11 years younger than me? ;) )

Okay, I need to go finish making dinner too...pork roast and roasted potatoes. The house smells amazing!

Amy :)
Umm...triplets :wave2:
My friend and I were just discussing this about me earlier today :earseek:

My house smells amazing too (chicken) only I can hardly see the oven for all the smoke :rotfl:

DS just informed us that her REALLY REALLY REALLY wants to go to the "zoo park". Ya know ... I really wanted to drop AK from our plans (although I have a fabulous shirt for it!). Cal me a grouch, but it's my least favorite park. First off ... we have a fantastic zoo we go to in Rhode Island. Second ... and don't ban me for saying this ... Busch Gardens is better!

I swear the only reason he wants to go is for Primeval Whirl! ugh DH and I could not wait to get off! He rode again with another family! We both stood in the baby swap area!

I told her I want to come to her wedding in case she needs any help handling her t-shirt emergencies!!!:rotfl:

Forget my DCL wedding t-shirt emergencies, I'm about to have a DCL t-shirt emergency tonight!!!!!!!!!

Here's the background...
Last year, DBF and I went on the DCL for Thanksgiving and LOVED IT!!! So relaxing, so much fun, Castaway Cay double dip (means you go there twice in one trip), avoided all the relatives so no one (or everyone) was disappointed we weren't with them, etc. DBF wanted to do the same this year. But I wanted to go to Disneyland and SF to see my relatives, so that's what we are doing. Supposed to leave tomorrow morning at 6 am to fly to Vegas for a few days with his parents, then go to SF to see my family next Tues through the following Tues.

Now, some things have changed with my relatives (people selling their homes, moving, upheaval, yada yada) and we are both worn out from this year and really want to go on the cruise and just RELAX. So we are seriously contemplating getting on the Thanksgiving cruise this coming Saturday -- DBF is a cast member, so we can go last minute.

That's 2 days from now!! I don't have time to make 7 days of t-shirts, plus appease the relations, plus rebook flights and rearrange our lives in 2 days!!! And yet we really want to go on the DCL. It's our favorite thing!

And to top it all off Denise and Kate aren't taking requests right now (I am TOTALLY joking!!), and it's the holidays so everyone is busy and can't help, and I still don't know how to use Photoshop so can't make my own designs. I'm going to have to search the DDA and borrow everyone's DCL designs if I'm going to make this happen. Why can't Target be open 24 hours so I can get t-shirts in the middle of the night?!

How's that for a t-shirt crisis from an only child perfectionist who is freaking out! I know, I know "get a real problem." Deciding whether or not to go on DCL and making t-shirts for the trip is small beans compared to surgery and other world issues.

Will keep you posted on the DCL trip decision.

I would have posted sooner but didn't want to accidentally be 12000

So the doctor told me Nick had one of 3 things - my first choice of the 3 was strep -

the test was negative -

now I am not sure if I want him to have pneumonia or a viral infection:

we are waiting for chest x-ray results and the doc told me she would call later tonight with the results

if he does not have pneumonia - he has a virus that is a very high fever like he has been all day today for about 4 days - he is highly contagious and odds are the rest of the house will all get it before all is said and done

I will let you all know later!!!

Kate
Awww...sending lots of {{{HUGS}}} to Nick! Hope he feels better soon!

Oh, poor Nick (and poor Kate!). You are in my prayers. Hopefully he'll feel better soon. Let me know if I can do anything. BTW, you can alternate Tylenol and Motrin every 3 hours to keep the fever down and him more comfortable. Ie Tylenol at 3pm, Motrin 6pm, Tylenol 9pm, Motrin 12am, etc. Use the full dose allowed. It keeps fevers under much better control and is an old Peds Nurse trick.

Hugs to you all!

This is a great solution for everybody but our Matthew. When he had his 107 fever and febrile seizure, they had told me the day before the seizure to do Tylenol, Motrin. Would you believe in addition to the febrile seizure, he was now throwing up blood? His tummy couldn't handle the meds and was just a mess. That's also the weekend of three nights in emergency as well as the weekend my mother died. Talk about stress....

I'm a SAHM with one kid and I'm ridiculously behind on everything! Pitiful!

Amy :)

Ditto!!! I swear I get more done when I have more to do and no time to do it. Doesn't make sense, but then again, when do I make sense??

Too bad you live so far away...we could motivate each other. I'm only about five years behind on scrapbooking! :rotfl:
