Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Happy Belated Anniversary! This time of year always feels busy to me. I hope you get a chance for a breather soon!

Love the pics from the tiki room and Country Bears. But, of course, my favorite pics are on BTMMR. Glad you didn't end up hanging yourself in your camera strap. Too funny! :rotfl2:

I had no idea they make rice krispy chicken leg treats. :lmao:

Thank you Mary Ellen! I was canning again last night. Fresh produce is not something that can wait on you to get to it.

I made a conscious effort not to hang myself this time. You saw how it went the trip before last.

I also want to see you leap across the room to save someone from the turnstiles! :lmao::rotfl2:

I like both Tiki and Country Bears too. They aren't exciting, but still entertaining and enjoyable. And air conditioned, which is another plus in the summer!

I remember your Hannibal Lector picture :rotfl: I'm glad you remembered to watch your camera strap this time though. :thumbsup2

Like you said, Tiki birds and Country Bears aren't anything that you'd go ga-ga over but they are quite entertaining to us.

I really did try to keep from wrapping the camera strap around my neck and face this time.

I don't think I could ever try taking pictures on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I am usually hanging on for dear life.

We love the Tiki birds! It's nice and relaxing. We just went to Country Bears for the first time last year...and then we ended up watching it 5 times in one week! My 5-year-old absolutely loved it! We had so much fun every time! We also loved that or was never busy.

I hope everyone is feeling better! I can't wait to hear more!

Oh I was hanging on for the most part. I usually took the pictures when we were going up the hills.

5 times? Wow, that's a whole lot of Country Bears.

Happy belated Anniversary!!!

Thank you!

Sorry to hear that John’s not been feeling well, as well as your boss. Makes for a chaotic time, so you are definitely forgiven for not updating sooner!!

It seems that the chaos will continue around our house for quite some time but at least I was able to get in a couple of posts.

I love the picture of the three of you on BTMRR. Just looks like a fun time. Good for you, for not strangling yourself with your camera strap. I just about did that on Expedition Everest. My camera strap was twisted around three times on that one.

Yeah, well, I don't even try to take pictures on Expedition Everest. I'm too busy holding on and screaming!

There was a picture going around on Pinterest where someone had mixed M&Ms, Skittles and Reeces Pieces together. I found it hilarious.

Funniest_Memes_i-put-a-bowl-of-skittles-mms-reese-s-pieces_12057_zpsd483aefa.jpeg

That's too funny!

I am dying!! I have never seen that rice krispie turkey leg before – too funny!

John loves a rice krispie treat but doesn't care for turkey legs so this worked out perfectly.

We've never seen the Tiki Birds, but do plan on hitting it on our next trip.

For our first Disney trip, Country Bears was closed for refurb. We did see it on our next trip, though, and we all loved it. We'll be doing it again.

I love both the tiki birds and Country Bears!

I'm convinced that we must have been separated at birth! We're fast approaching our 30th (this year is like an out-of-control roller coaster!!) and like you, we can't believe all that time has past. We've had our struggles as well but that just makes the bond stronger :thumbsup2 Hope you enjoyed at least a few moments of "alone time" BIG AL!! OMG i loooove him, always have & always will. As soon as i read the title to your trip report i heard his voice in my head "there was blooood on the saddle, and bloooood all around and a great big puddle of blooood on the ground" pause for massive sigh :rotfl2:
Smarties??? Nah those are ROCKETS to me!
THIS is what Smarties look like here a poor excuse for candy coated chocolate. A couple of years ago they started using "natural flavours" and John & Em say they taste like .. uhm .. well, butt!! (not sure how they know what that tastes like :rotfl:) Psst, Em calls those sorts of pics "USIES" but then she's just weird!

Congrats on your upcoming 30th too! It's tough but it's well worth it!

Bi Al is Lacey's favorite Country Bear and our's too. He's just so darn cute and cuddly.

It's crazy how we have the same candies but different names. The second candy that you posted look similar to the candy named Sixlets but they don't take like butt. :lmao:

I did it! I caught up! Are you proud of me?

Too much to comment on, but I'm really enjoying the time with your family. You're a lot of fun. John's epiliepsy doesn't sound like much fun, but I'm glad you are able to take the time to slow down and enjoy yourselves and your time anyway.

I totally agree on the flower displays around the Epcot lagoon--leave them up all year! It looks so amazing.

I did this --> :rotfl2: at the Hannibal Lecter selfie. Too funny!

You already know I love some country bears!! My favorite is " mama don't whoop little Beaufort" & " all the guys that turn me on- turn me down" :)

The turnstiles there are hard to get through now that I think about it!

I almost named this post something like "Mama don't pound on his head" but changed my mind.

You and Hunter got some fairly decent pics on BTMRR.

Love the Country Bears :) I get a kick out of Big Al, too! :rotfl2:

I had other pictures that were better but they wouldn't upload to photobucket. Photobucket gives me fits sometimes.

We love the country bear jamboree its a must see for us every trip. Big Al is my grandpas absolute favorite disney character. He has this stuffed Big Al at his house that is really old I have only ever seen the one he has.

That's cool! I bet the stuffed Big Al is worth a pretty penny.

Happy belated Anniversary! 30 years is a big deal. Good for ya'll!

Thank you!

I have not been into the Tiki room in years. DS and I were talking about that the other day. We are going to try to make it in December when we go.

There are so many things to see and watch in the Tiki room. Hope that ya'll get to see them in December.

Hannibal Lector! :rotfl2: Glad you did not wrap yourself up this time. If it was me trying to take pics with a strap the headline would read...And this is how Lisa died. :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

The turnstile with the confused people...I absolutely love watching people get confused and befuddled. :rotfl: Too bad the CM came and ruined all of the fun.

We are people watchers and this was a fun set of folks to watch.

I know exactly why the Country Bears look like that...they are all drinking! That's a whole lotta jugs they have in there! :drinking1

They have moonshine bellies instead of beer bellies.

OH MY Stupid people watching is my favorite past time!!! I am sure Disney has it's share!!!

There are sooooooo many people to watch at Disney so there's never a dull moment.

Happy Belated 30th anniversary! Sorry i missed that! and i hope everyone feels better SOON!

Thank you!

I cannot wait to see and hear the sweet sounds of Tiki Birds foot stomoin bears!!! LOVE IT ALL!!

You really need to frame the picture of your Hannibal.. I laughed really hard. Like REALLY REALLY hard... :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Ahhh, the Hannibal Lector pictures has inspired another fit of giggles again. When I posted the picture the first time, John couldn't believe that I'd actually put it out there for all to see.

I did it! I caught up! Are you proud of me?

Super duper proud of you!

Too much to comment on, but I'm really enjoying the time with your family. You're a lot of fun. John's epiliepsy doesn't sound like much fun, but I'm glad you are able to take the time to slow down and enjoy yourselves and your time anyway.

Epilepsy sucks big time but we have learned how to deal with it and work around it.

I totally agree on the flower displays around the Epcot lagoon--leave them up all year! It looks so amazing.

The flowers are so pretty but I can only imagine the work that goes into maintaining them. :crazy2:

I did this --> :rotfl2: at the Hannibal Lecter selfie. Too funny!

I'm glad that I was able to give you a floor rolling laugh with the Hannibal picture. John thought that I was nuts for putting it out there for the world to see. Well, maybe not the world but the Dis world.

He’s whispering sweet nothings to you! I can’t hear a dang thang!

We left the Country Bears theater and started towards the new Fantasyland. We had another Fastpass to use! We took the path through Liberty Square and passed by the new Rapunzel themed bathrooms. I love the look of the “village” and it’s cute and all but, as I said over on Jen’s report, if I were Rapunzel, I’d be pissed (pun intended) if I were a Disney Princess and all I got out of the new Fantasyland was a freakin’ bathroom. :headache:

Apparently, I ventured into the village and attempted to take a picture of the poster but somebody walked into my view just as I snapped:

Knowing me, I also made a pit stop in the bathrooms before we continued on to our next Fastpass destination which was for lunch at Be Our Guest. I had a dinner reservation booked but decided to try and snag a lunch Fastpass instead. Once I did, I let the dinner ADR go and hoped that someone could snatch it up since they were (and are probably still) a hard to get reservation.

I should have done a bit more research before we went because I wasn’t sure where we needed to check in. :rolleyes1 I was 99% sure that there was a desk or kiosk or someplace that we were supposed to go to but I didn’t know where it was. Thankfully, the check-in area was easy to find and we were checked in. We were told who to see next (It was pronounced Fawn but it was spelled completely differently. How do I know? It was on her name tag.) She pointed us in the right direction and this guy greeted us:

I had heard that the knights would whisper/talk every now and then but it was quite loud and I couldn’t make out what they were saying. Hunter and I leaned in and could hear them whispering though. John looked at us like we were crazy and asked what we were doing. I pointed to the knight and said “He’s whispering sweet nothings to you!” John and his poor “I can’t hear anything because I’ve worked around loud machines all my life” self couldn’t hear anything even when he leaned over. :sad2:

He tried, bless his heart, but he looked at us and said “I can’t hear a dang thang!” He ended up just taking our word for it ‘cause he couldn’t hear a dang thang.

Once we got to the castmember at the kiosk, he asked for our name and he found us but our pre-ordered meals weren’t in the system. We ordered again, were given our rose and told to find a table anywhere we wanted.

We didn’t really put any thought into where to sit and just walked into the first room and found a table. Later on, I wish that we had gone deeper into the restaurant and looked around some more before plopping down. Not that our location was bad, we just didn’t have a view. Hunter and John fixed our drinks and got the utensils while I sat at the table. When they returned, Hunter took control of the camera and went around to the other rooms to take pictures.

Our table was the second to the last from the wall and, if we turned around, we could see this:

I wish that we had sat at this end of the room so that we could have seen the snow falling:

There were other pictures but they turned out really dark and I don’t have the ones that Hunter took on his phone.

While Hunter was gone, our food was delivered. Hunter had the Carved Turkey Sandwich - served on a warm baguette with Dijon mayonnaise and Pomme Frites. Ya’ll know that Hunter is a picky eater...doesn’t like sauces, spreads, veggies on his sandwiches, etc. and the sandwich came with Dijon mayonnaise and lettuce. I wish that I had known that you could order the sandwich with nothing but meat and bread but I didn’t so the lettuce was removed and the mayonnaise scraped off before it was deemed edible.

Hunter’s turkey sandwich:

John ordered the Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich - served warm on a baguette with horseradish sour cream and Pomme Frites

For my entree, I decided on the Croque Monsieur - Grilled sandwich of carved ham, Gruyere cheese, and bechamel with Pommes Frites

Sorry two of those pics were blurry. :sad2:

The sandwiches that John and Hunter ordered were pretty big and Hunter didn’t eat all of his. John and I both tasted of Hunter’s and John said that the turkey (even though he isn’t a turkey fan) was better than the roast beef. I sampled both the turkey and the roast beef and agreed that the turkey was better. Now, I’m not saying that the roast beef was bad, just that the turkey was a bit better. My sandwich? While it was simple, it was good. The fries had a nice seasoning on them and were nice and warm.

For our desserts, we ordered a variety so that we could sample some of each. We had the master’s cupcake with the grey stuff:

Strawberry cream cheese cupcake:

**Continued in next post

Strawberry cream cheese cupcake:

And, last but not least, the lemon meringue cupcake:

Each of them were really good but we had one complaint....I hate those cupcake wrapper things they are in. We wanted to take them off but it was too difficult and we gave up.:faint: Maybe there’s a trick to getting them off and we were too dumb to figure it out? :confused3 I don’t know but I can tell you that it didn’t keep us from eating all of them with the exception of a few bites of the chocolate cupcake.

I wouldn’t say that Be Our Guest is a “gotta go to” restaurant every trip but it’s certainly one that we’ll go to again especially if Lacey and Jesse travel with us next May.

Before we left, we walked into the other rooms and attempted to take more pictures but it was crowded and dark in some areas. These are the best of the lot and they aren't that great:

Our table was just to the left and to the front of this picture:

The attention to detail is amazing:

Every time I see a picture of this, I think of the Chronicles of Narnia and the part of the movie where he holds up the gate so that everybody can escape but then he dies. Yay for Hunter making the picture funny so I don't start crying.

Annnnd, I couldn't leave without getting a picture of the pantsless gent in the mural (sorry, people were taking pictures in front of it so there's a shoulder in the picture):

**Up next: There’s a pig?!?! Where? Up there!

Oh, I'm glad you got there. We are hoping to go in September (we've done dinner three times, but want to try lunch).

I'm glad you got to visit all of the rooms...it is so well themed.

I will remember that the turkey is better than the roast beef.

I always get the ALL chocolate cupcake. And you are right, Lisa...those wrappers are for the birds. I have yet to get it off without ruining my entire cupcake.

I can't make up my mind if I want to eat dinner there or not since it gets such mixed reviews. I'll probably leave it up to Lacey and Jesse. I loved all of the details that they put into the restaurant decor.

What's up with the cupcake holder things? It should be easier to eat your dessert. :p

Okay, so now that I read your update, I have a super duper important question for you:

Master's cupcake, or lemon meringue? :rotfl:

I seriously cannot decide. I had the Master's on my last visit (and ended up just taking a fork to it in that dang cup), and I know I like it, but I love all things lemon. The trials us Disney fans face.

It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one that hasn't see it.

YET. ;)

Well I finally saw Frozen. I loved it! We watched in on our TV in 3D and it was great!

I turned and spied a speck of something. What is that? Is that bird crap or a hidden Mickey? Look closely! I can’t tell!

I am eating lunch reading this and I nearly spit out my soup!:rotfl2:

That New York Strip Steak at Coral Reef is huge! And OMG the turtle cheesecake is too cute!!! I always say I'm going to make an ADR there...and then I don't. So many mixed reviews. Someday.

Then, my favorite bear of all came out! Big Al!
Oh he is my favorite too! When I was small and was at DL with my grandparents they told me I could pick one stuffed animal to buy for the trip. Did I choose Mickey, Minnie, or Donald? Nope, I chose Big Al! I loved that thing.

If it were me, I'd go for the lemon meringue because, like you, I love everything lemon. John doesn't like tart lemon flavored anything but he liked the cupcake at Be Our Guest.

Oooh I bet that it was even better in 3D!

Oops, sorry!

The steak was big and it was very good. I could go for one right now, as a matter of fact.

Aww, you chose Big Al, that's some love for the Country Bears right there. :thumbsup2

There’s a pig?!?! Where? Up there!

Having satisfied our hungry tummies, we walked back out into the Fantasyland crowds. I took a minute to take a couple pictures of the castle:

Where to next? :confused3 How about It’s A Small World? Sounded good to all three of us so we made a right and saw that many others were going that direction as well:

I crossed my fingers and hoped that they weren’t all going to It’s A Small World. Unfortunately, many were:

By the way, am I the only one that feels like I am headed in the wrong direction when going onto the ride? Remember when you used to get on from the other side? Just feels weird/wrong going straight ahead instead of straight down. :sad2:

Anyway, the line moved relatively quickly and we were on a boat in a shorter time that I had thought we would. The castmember waved a goodbye to us all and we were on our way through the hip shaking, monkey laughing, tightrope walking attraction affectionately referred to as the Slow Boat to China by Mrs. Katmark. (Or is it the slow boat to nowhere or possibly the slow boat to h-e double hockey sticks :rotfl:?) Kathy, help me out here.

There’s no telling how many times that we have experienced It’s A Small World but every time, I see something new. There’s a pig!?!? Where? Up there!

Of course, John didn’t see the pig, he had his eyes closed:

Didn’t surprise me one bit. He had a good lunch in his stomach, he was floating along, little children were serenading him, what better place was there to get some shut eye?

When we neared the end, John was nudged awake and he was good to go. But to where would we go?

**Up next: I love me a woman with cat eye glasses and a big ol' mole!

I love all of these pictures! We have a FP for BOG lunch in a few weeks too so I loved seeing those pictures & your review!

I love all of these pictures! We have a FP for BOG lunch in a few weeks too so I loved seeing those pictures & your review!

Make sure that you take the time to walk around and look at the different rooms. They are all different and the theming is fantastic!

That would be a slow boat to China my dear friend. I think the lines are confusing everyone now that you can get a FP+ for the slow boat to China.

Okay, I'll admit it...I never knew there was a pig there either.

And I'm riding with John next time...we can both nap. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I agree about finding new things on It's a Small World. The more times I ride a ride the more I get into the little details of things. I see something different each time.
We are still undecided on when we should take our trip next year and had a question for you. I know you go the last week of May and first week of June. Do you see a big difference with crowds increasing as you get into the 2nd week ? I wish we could make up our minds on when to go :rotfl: We may go the first week in June so I wondered if there is any difference.

Catching up (Thank you for the links!! ;)) But thought I'd comment real quick! First...Ohana is the same for my family! I don't book because they want something new and then I get "You mean we aren't going to Ohana!?" So now I book and will cancel if we decide closer to the trip! Keith would drive the 11 hours to Orlando just to eat at Ohana!!

So I see your Flower and Garden pictures and I am thinking "I wish it looked like this all year" and then I read this:

You big fat lipped hairy sucker you! Be still!

If only those grassy areas were splashed with various flowers and color all year long. I miss them when they are gone.

Annnnd, some had fallen onto the concrete. John and I are all into gardening and trying to grow new things. How about trying to grow a cotton tree? Just like the cotton bolls on the plants, the bolls had black seeds in the middle. We gathered up a few and I put them into a small bag that I had in my backsack. I almost titled this chapter “ This stuff is probably poisonous and we have it all over us!” because that’s exactly what we said. :crazy2:

Is this what you posted on Facebook tonight? Your piece of Epcot? If so how super cool!!!!

ETA: All caught up now!! Maybe I can stay on track at least for a little while!!

I definitely liked the turkey sandwich both times I've had lunch at BOG. I very much enjoyed my dinner too, but I know others haven't had as good of an experience. :confused3 George and I are going to go there for both meals in December.

I like It's a Small World, though I can certainly understand how John could easily sleep on it, given how often you've told of us of his naps! :lmao:
