You referred me to this TR about 2 hours ago in the CBR thread, because I had a lot of questions about the resort. In those 2 hours and I have already read and caught up! I am quite enjoying it and eager for your next post!

Monkey puzzles and peanut butter trees? Who ever heard of such?

As we exited Soarin’, we could see the line of people went on and on and on. It was crazy long. Sure was happy that we had a FP+. Otherwise, we’d have been in line with them.

Since we were already in The Land, we figured why not go ahead and hop in line for one of our favorites...Living with the Land. A favorite? Yep, it’s been a favorite since the first time that we rode it which was back in the day when there was a real true human guide and not a recording. The wait time wasn’t that long but it was a tad bit longer than we’d seen it in the past. I chalked it up to being Memorial Day crowds.

We were seated in the first row of the boat and were soon floating through the rainforest:



a dessert (no pictures not even a blurry crappy one)

a farm:



Why, oh why, do I even try to get pictures in those sections? I guess that I do it because I want to see if they come out good enough to put in a trip report. Obviously, I’ll settle for any picture as can be seen above.

We were out into the bright sunshine and the greenhouse next. This is the part of the attraction that fascinates me the most. My grandfather had a farm when I was a kid and I remember going to their home waaaaay out in the country and staying with them for a few days at a time in the Summer. Those were the good old days! John and I also have a garden and enjoy spending our weekends and evenings tending to it. I’m just a country gal at heart!

I’m about to inundate you with pictures which are, again, from two different cameras and may not be in the best order. As I said in a post earlier, I have been having issues with photobucket and am just glad that the pictures are showing up any in sort of order.

It’s so cool to see crops growing that I’ve only seen in pictures or at Epcot:

I saw this and immediately thought that if my daddy were still alive and seeing this he would say “A monkey puzzle? Who ever heard of such?”

As I said, I think that it’s neat how they can grow the crops to be so big and in the sand but the next section and the hydroponics are even cooler to me:





















If you ever have the chance and a little extra time at Epcot, I’d highly recommend taking the Behind the Seeds tour. It’s super informative and you get a firsthand look at not only the greenhouse and aquaculture sections but also the area where they are using good insects to control bad insects. We were allowed to feed the fish in the tanks and ask as many questions as we wanted. The little kids get a small container of ladybugs that they get to set free in the greenhouse. Oh and you might get lucky and get to sample some of the cucumbers that they grow there. We’ve done it three times and would do it again. It’s very reasonably priced and takes between an hour to an hour and a half depending on your guide and the number of questions asked.

Welcome! Glad to see you! There will be more CBR pictures in the report as we spent quite a bit of down time at the resort.

Isn't the shirt simply amazing? I've never seen anything like it.

I've been thinking about doing the Behind the Seeds tour in October but didn't know if my 6 y/o DS would be interested. May have to check it out!

I love that ride ! I'm just amazed with all the different plants and trees. I have thought of doing behind the seeds but never knew if it was any good. My 12 year old GD loves this ride too.

Great pictures on The Land, Lisa. I have to say, I miss the narrator! It just seems so inpersonal now.

I find that there is always something new (or I just missed in my old age) when we do that ride.

I've put the tour on my bucket list. We won't be able to make it this year as we are doing the Backstage Safari with the animals this year.

I love Living with the Land. I have to do it every trip. It's so interesting to me, and makes me want to garden. Then I remember that plants cower in fear around me.

Yay Living with the Land! I love that attraction and take a ton of pictures too. And I definitely agree that the Behind the Seeds tour is a great thing to do, I learned so much and it's so cheap, especially compared to their other tours!

We have been on the tour with families with children around that age. Some were interested, some were not. I guess it would depend on the individual child.

I bet that your GD would enjoy it. If you have a Disney Visa you get a % off and there's a coupon in the back of the Birnbaum's guide.
