Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

I'm so glad you know just what to do for John. I praise God that he didn't have anything worse come about.

Y'all are brave!! I'd have been so worried to go into a 45 min. attraction with him having issues, but he knows himself so well so it's better to do what he thinks is best, I'm sure. You don't want to tick them off when they get that way. :scared: :sad2: Probably no reasoning with them at that point.

Bless y'all, it's can't be fun but I'm sure you are more than grateful it's no worse than it is.

So glad that John was feeling better after some quiet time. That mango slush looks pretty good right about now...

Glad John felt better soon. What a PITA for you all.

You are NOT the only one who comments on people just sitting like that. Just the other day I listened to the DIS Unplugged podcast from last week (or the week before) and JenniLynn comment about people just sitting and laying all over the parks! Very weird!

That slush looks pretty dang good!

You're an updating machine lately! What, not much work to do? Maybe you could work on my TR!

Stupid Epilepsy!!! I'm glad you know what to do for John and it wasn't a bad episode.

And since everyone seems to to take a nap in Stupid Judy, it was probably the best place for John. :)

Sorry...I couldn't watch the video...too much like what the girls do on our Disney Quest Day.

Praise God that John hasn't had any grand mal seizures in years! Thankfully, John can usually tell how bad it the twitches will get. He felt that it would be okay to sit through such a long attraction. We were on a row all by ourselves so he could have laid down had he needed to.

John was injured in our early years of marriage and when Lacey was in Kindergarten so we've learned to deal with things as they come along.

So glad that John was feeling better after some quiet time. That mango slush looks pretty good right about now...

It took a while but the twitches finally went away. The mango slush was delicious! John said that it wasn't his favorite but I'd definitely get it again.

Glad John felt better soon. What a PITA for you all.

That's a very good way to describe epilepsy "PITA!"

I can't stand it when people do that. Just plop down wherever they want even if it's in somebody's way or could cause other's harm.

Oh yeah, there's been plenty of work. I've been writing on my break times and while I'm waiting for my boss to give things back to me. I always hate the lulls because I know that a frenzy is coming soon.

Epilepsy is STUPID in all caps! Usually, John sleeps while in Ellen anyway so he was fine if he dozed off this time too.

I LOVE Living with the Land. Sadly, I never rode it with a real person, so the mundane recording is all I know. But the greenhouse makes me happy, so I'm good with it.

So glad to hear John was feeling better! A couple of summers ago I was counselor at our church's high school conference, and one of the girls in my cabin had a full seizure during our evening worship. It was one of the scariest moments of my life, especially given that there's not much you can do once the seizure starts. Luckily it was over quickly, but she still chose to go home the next morning because it was only the second she'd ever had and she was scared and embarassed :-( Good thing John has his magic pills, and that y'all were able to slow down and take it easy

I know that feeling well. You don't know what to do and there's really nothing that you can do. It does embarass John sometimes and he doesn't like it when we make a fuss over him. I get this but it's hard not to. My mother? Well, she hovers over him like flies on you know what. :rotfl:

I am so very thankful that we have the magic pills. It may take them a while to kick in and they do make him groggy but they keep the seizures at bay.

Was that your cute little southern accent on the video saying" my button doesn't work"?

Nice job with the video. You did good!

I didn't realize you had been on the Behind the Seeds tour that many times. Very cool. It is still on my bucket list!

I love LWTL. It's such a great ride. I always enjoy the beginning scenes in the dark.

What a great morning in Epcot so far. :thumbsup2

So glad that John was okay. That has to be very scary for all of y'all. But, it sounds like you're a pro at knowing what to do and how to help him. :thumbsup2

Seems like we never get around to doing Sum of All Thrills. :confused3

I never do a disney trip without doing Living with the Land (to me it will always be "listen to the Land"). I just love it. and even though we can hear the new narrator better, i still miss the human announcer.

I have done the orange mission space twice. I was so happy they finally made a "thrill" ride for people like me! I am terrified of heights, but I love spinning.

the 1st time I thought it was pretty cool. except for the claustro aspect, wasn't expecting such close quarters. but I thought it was cool, the way it felt like my cheeks were trying to pull away from my face!:lmao: but the second time it made me nauseous.. not really bad, but enough that I had to sit for a while. since then I only do the green side.

so glad John was ok, how scary. ( if you're not sure you can last through the whole "ellen" ride, I wouldn't get on it. it really is a kind of revolving theater of types. they can't just stop it and get you off. they have to shut the whole thing donw and reset it and it takes a really long time)

nothing worse than having medical problems at disney. and you don't want to "affect" the rest of the groups when nebo fainted at Mk, (dehydrated)he felt really bad. he hit his head, and had a concussion. his biggest concern was to not ruin ourgrandson's trip!

As soon as I saw you were heading for Mission Space I thought, "But what about John's seizures?" I'm so glad that it wasn't too bad of an episode for him.

What I love best about your video is that now your voice is in my head when reading your TR. It's like having an audiobook!

I'm so glad that John was able to catch himself and had the means to recover. I have had to deal with hypotension and fainting for quite a few years. It's much less severe than epilepsy, but I can empathize with how he feels about not wanting people to hover. On the other hand, you (like my husband) need to know how your loved one is doing. To balance that, we've developed a code over the years. I say what "%" I'm feeling and he knows if we need to slow down, sit down, or lie down. (It runs around 70%, 50%, 30%) We find it's the easiest way to communicate subtly in a crowd without busy bodies hearing "are you ok" "how are you doing". It also makes me feel like it's less of a big deal if we don't actually say that something's wrong. That may sound superficial but it's amazing how big of a difference it can make to someone who's trying to cope through something they can't always control.

Great video of mission space ! The screaming made me laugh too :rotfl: I know I would be screaming too ! I have always been to afraid to do the orange.
Sorry about John having to deal with epilepsy , that would be kind of scary when the pills didn't work right away.

So glad he was ok!!!

We were too!

Was that your cute little southern accent on the video saying" my button doesn't work"?

I was mostly screaming like a little girl! I think that I said something about my button not lighting up. But, I probably said it more like my buttin' ain't lightin' up! :rotfl:

Nice job with the video. You did good!

I had no idea if I could hold it steady but I did pretty good.

I didn't realize you had been on the Behind the Seeds tour that many times. Very cool. It is still on my bucket list!

[COLOR="red"The first time that we did it, Hunter was still young enough that they gave him the ladybugs to release. Jesse hasn't done it before and if we have time, we may try to work it into our plans for next trip.[/COLOR]

I love LWTL. It's such a great ride. I always enjoy the beginning scenes in the dark.

Other than John's twitches, we had a wonderful morning.

Yeah, over the years, we've learned a lot and know how to handle each individual circumstance.

This was the first time that any of us had done Sum of All Thrills. Hunter loved it.

I never do a disney trip without doing Living with the Land (to me it will always be "listen to the Land"). I just love it. and even though we can hear the new narrator better, i still miss the human announcer.

I miss them too but I can see how it would be easier and more efficient to have the recording.

Mission Space could really mess with your head if you thought about the fact that you're locked down tight in such a little space. I try not to think about it too much. ;)

We can usually tell if it's going to be a bad "episode" or just something that will set him back a little. We were pretty sure that he'd be fine in the air conditioning.

Oh gracious! I bet that was scary!

As soon as I saw you were heading for Mission Space I thought, "But what about John's seizures?" I'm so glad that it wasn't too bad of an episode for him.

There's really nothing at Disney that has ever caused problems for John and his epilepsy...even Mission Space. Like I said, though, we never know what might cause him to have the twitches. :confused3

What I love best about your video is that now your voice is in my head when reading your TR. It's like having an audiobook!

Oh my Lawd have Mercy! Now you'll be catching yourself thinking "how would Lisa sound saying that?" :lmao:

It's so good that your and your husband are able to communicate in such a scary situation. The caregivers find it hard not to fidgit and hover because we are scared for you guys. Your words/thought don't sound superficial at all to me!:flower3:

Great video of mission space ! The screaming made me laugh too :rotfl: I know I would be screaming too ! I have always been to afraid to do the orange.

Honey, had I not been holding back because I was making the video, I'd have been screamin' even more.

We can pretty much tell how bad he will feel by the amount of twitching and auras. If his body begins to tense up, then we know it's going to be worse.

Just got caught up on the last couple posts. Love seeing the CBR pictures. I did FP+ reservations two days ago. They'll end up changing because my brother hasn't done his and my mom and my SIL's mom aren't even on our list yet, but I wanted to get Snow White and Toy Story while they were there. I wanted to get a Fast Pass for lunch at the Beauty and the Beast restaurant, but I couldn't see where we could do that so I'll have to look around some more. We're at 58 days and it seems like both a lifetime and not enough time to plan.

I love your descriptions. I'm thinking about doing the Behind the Seeds with the kids. I hadn't even thought of it, but I think they would both enjoy it. Will loves Living With The Land and Christian loves Science. I'm working on trying to get there a day earlier and if we do I want to do EPCOT that morning, so that would work perfect. We'll see if I manage it.

Glad John ended up okay. It really stinks to have to deal with something like that, but you guys are so good at taking everything in stride.

I've never had dinner at Ohana. We always have breakfast. We're not doing it at all this trip, but that might be something to keep in mind. Not sure my picky one would eat anything there, but it looks good to me.

Looking forward to the next installment!

Hi Lisa!:wave2: I'm late....really late but I'm here!:goodvibes I spent yesterday getting all caught up.:thumbsup2

Love seeing your pictures around CBR! It looks like such a relaxing resort. Glad Planet Hollywood was open so you could eat on your first night. Wow! 2 hours to get to the Boardwalk. Too bad there wasn't anything going on that night.:sad2:

Yay! for getting an ADR for Ohana!:thumbsup2 Even though our first experience there wasn't the best. I'm looking forward to trying it again now that the boys are older. Hopefully, they will be more adventurous next time.:)

Sounds like a great Epcot day so far! Love Soarin' and Living with the Land.:lovestruc We only have one day planned for Epcot on our next trip so we will probably get a FP+ for Soarin' and head to TT at rope drop.

So glad John was okay! Very scary but at least you know what he needs to feel better.

Looking forward to reading more.

Hopefully, you'll get back sooner rather than later. :hourglass

We've got plans to go back to the World - and Caribbean Beach - in May 2016. Yup, almost 2 years away. But -- it's for our 25th Anniversary, and the total trip will be 2 and a half weeks! Until then, I'm living vicariously through others' trip reports. :rotfl:
