Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Glad that it wasn't a hassle for you to have to check out just to check in again. :thumbsup2

Sounds like y'all were off to a good start at EPCOT with Soarin'. That is very interesting that they said the family could just stand and watch. I never knew you could do that. Learn something new all the time here!

I'm glad the luggage switch went smoothly, as did the room check-out/in process. You got some good pictures of CBR too!

You can add me to those that are glad those were not your hairy legs :lmao: For some reason I did know they would let you watch Soarin and not ride it, but I don't know why I knew that :confused3 You got some great pictures while on it! I've always wanted to take pictures but never have. :goodvibes

I for one am a little dismayed that none of Hunter's pictures were selfies (if you don't count the hairy legs) :lmao:

Glad that your check in/out process was quick and painless and that you remembered to do it before you went to the parks!

yay for Epcot! I really hate the tier system there. We did our FP for Soarin' thinking that we could ride TT at rope drop, and then it rained and TT wasn't open. That did not go over well with Maddie. Live and learn!

Can't wait to hear more!

Glad that you had a smooth transition with your luggage and check out/in.

Soarin' is definitely a great way to start the day, crazy that the stand by line was already at an hour!

Fun to see pictures of the ride/movie.

omg I finally made it over here!!!! LOL nice shirt John!I am loving this report so far, can"t wait to see what's next.

We also love Soarin and hope the rumors are true of a new Florida video production that will replace the current California one. Nice report!

I always feel a teensy bit guilty on check-in day, when I have to pass by all the guests who are leaving. They just shoot me these awful looks with their sad puppy-dog eyes, and I feel like I'm bragging to them, when really I can't stop smiling from ear to ear. :rotfl2:

Love Soarin' pictures, they always make me want to go play the soundtrack. It definitely stinks having to choose between that and TT, though. I'm sort of fortunate in the fact that I have rider swap working in my favor, but as soon as that disappears, I'll be up a creek. :rotfl:

I've never done a split stay but, if it's on Disney's nickel like you said (how'd that happen anyway if it's ok to ask?) I think I would put up with changing rooms. :rotfl: Glad the move went smoothly.

I was looking at the soarin' pictures and mentally smelling the water and the oranges...then bam...fireworks over Disney. My daughter posed in her TR that my grandson had his legs crossed and put them down and tried to get his feet in the water. Gotta love soarin'!

Fun Update! LOVE the fact your such a rebel and take the pictures!!! :cool2: The comment about wiping eye boogies had me in stitches! SO FUN!!! same here i have a pretty rowdy family.. :thumbsup2 I can relate to your fun stuff!!

Your resort looks perfect and great location!!

YOur first ride of the entire trip was Soarin"! Such a fantastic ride, the perfect choice for first ride of the trip! Unlike some of us, who ended up with Living with the Land as our first ride last October.... :rolleyes1

Glad to hear the room move was pretty painless!

Soarin is an absolute favorite - love it! :cool1: Very glad those hairy legs weren't yours!! :rotfl:

Another great update, Lisa! Your pictures of CBR are really getting me excited to stay there NEXT WEEK! Oh crap, I really should soon start at least thinking about packing!!! I keep debating about doing a trip report, if only because it is a softball tournament trip that has evolved into a mommy/daughter trip to Disney with a little softball on the side. But I digress....

Glad those weren't your hairy legs! (although to each their own!) Can't believe there were no selfies from Hunter in this update and no pizza! I guess it's too early in the morning! Glad your room switch went so smoothly. I would pick Soarin' over Test Track but I do like them both.

Can't wait to hear about Monkeys!!!

I'm soooo loving this, your pictures are getting me more excited by the day (think my hubby is gonna shoot me if i hold the puter up and declare "LOOK AT THIS" one more time --spoil sport!)

All i can say is at least you remembered to remove the eye-boogers, hate to tell you the number of times i forget until I'm already on the city bus :rolleyes1

If i ever mention buying lottery tickets to my son he shakes his head and mutters "oh yes, the tax on the mathematically challenged, way to go Mom!" :rotfl2:

Thanks for taking the time to do this, you have inspired me to make sure i at least grab napkins to scribble notes on as we indulge in our 2 week anniversary trip!

I wish I could eat at O'hana. But alas, I am allergic to pineapple. So no bread, which is torture. And it always makes me nervous so... no Ohana.

I could not for the life of me figure out where you were going with the chapter title asking to move feet - but now I know! And love it, LOL! I love Soarin!

Sounds like your room switch went well and you're off to a great start!

So glad the room switching was painless!

I'm not crazy about this new tiering system. We'll have to see how that goes for us in September. Glad you got to do Soarin' though! I can't wait to ride that. And I love your bootleg photos!

What? THose weren't your hairy legs? :lmao:

Worth the wait! I have to say Soarin' isnt the same if you are on the bottom row or when people have long dangly feet

Wow. Those are some hairy legs! :rotfl2:

Great CBR pictures! I love how bright and cheerful that resort always seems.

Yay for being at the park!!! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

All caught up.

:cool1:

Has anyone ever told you what an awesome shirt John has???

That is too funny! Where and when did he get it? I love those little personal jokes that stick with you and continue to amuse you forever.

Great idea to do a monorail resort tour. We have spent very little time at the CR, I have never stepped food in the GF (like you, it is not really my style) and we have been to the Poly for a few meals at Ohana and Kona.

So sorry to hear that the work at the Poly is so unattractive. The décor at the Poly IS my style and it would break my heart not to see the beautiful, lush lobby.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your meal at Ohana, despite the slow start. Are the lettuce wraps "relatively" new? I don't remember anything like that from our meal there in 2010. My oldest son Nate is a picky eater, too, but he is starting to branch out like Hunter and try some new things.

Thanks for posting the pictures of the long buses. I have a lot of admiration for bus drivers and more so for the brave CMs who will be taking those behemoths for a spin.

*******************************************

Thank you so much for posting the pictures of the pictures of the "Random People You Don't Know"

I have never been close enough to those to see what they are. In my defense, I am usually entering EPCOT through the International Gateway, and when we do go in the front entrance, we are rushing from the MK so we haven't stopped to look at the jersey barrier things.

Love your picture of the Soarin' seats right before the ride.

Poor girl who didn't want to ride (and her family). I hope they were able to watch!

Im very relieved those hairy legs weren't yours. :rotfl2: Phew!

I really enjoy all your pictures of CBR! They are beautiful! You really do a nice job of capturing the bright festive colors and the unique angles of the buildings.

Soarin sounds like a great way to kick off your first park! :thumbsup2

If those were my legs, then I'm long overdue for a good shave. :lmao:

I love how bright and colorful the buildings are at the CBR. It makes for great picture taking.

We love soarin too...hate the tiers for FP+ though. We went at opening and did Soarin and then had a FP for TT a little bit later.

Glad the new room check in was painless for you and I enjoyed the pictures. :thumbsup2

We had two days at Epcot so I was able to make Fastpassses for Soarin' on our first day and Test Track on the other.

The check-in and luggage transfer was very easy.

You do such a great job with your descriptions of everything! Love your sense of humor! Last October, I stayed in Barbados in room 1313, corner room...It was the perfect location for my trip with 3 newbies. We stepped out of our door right to the quiet pool. The bus stop and promenade were both close too! Just love the resort!

We stayed in Barbados 11 before our Disney cruise and loved how secluded feeling it was. Loved it!

Great way to start your first day in the parks!!

I know!

Fun update, Lisa.

Wipe eye boogers from the corner of your eyes. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I love it.

I'm glad the luggage transfer went smoothly.

Nice pics of your room location. And that was pretty good time walking to the Custom House, checking out/in and then walking back!

I too am glad that was NOT your hairy leg.

Soarin' is a good choice (we're not fans of Test Track so we don't have to worry about that tiering thing).

I've never attempted to take pictures on Soarin'. Good for you doing it and they turned out pretty darn good.

Yep, had just enough time to get rid of those nasty eye booger. The luggage transfer was easy as pie.

I guess that I can live with the new tier FP system but I can certainly see why it would cause problems for those who only have one day in each park.

Glad that it wasn't a hassle for you to have to check out just to check in again. :thumbsup2

Sounds like y'all were off to a good start at EPCOT with Soarin'. That is very interesting that they said the family could just stand and watch. I never knew you could do that. Learn something new all the time here!

I didn't have any idea that you could watch Soarin' from another location. Maybe there's a room or something that they watch from?

Every arrival day, we always pity the poor souls wheeling their luggage out for the return trip home....so HAPPY it isn't us, but knowing it will be in the blink of an eye!!! :worried:
