Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Your mission should you choose to accept it! I screamed like a girl!

Our next FP+ was for Mission Space so we walked through the two Innoventions buildings and saw that the Jammitors were finishing up their set.:rockband: We got to see maybe two minutes of their performance before they were done. Too bad, we really enjoy watching them. ::yes::

We continued our walk to destination:

We chose to do the orange side...the more intense side. We ain’t no sissies! The mission was to propel into space and we had accepted that mission! :thumbsup2

As we were about to walk into the building, I could see the posted wait times and was a bit surprised that they weren’t longer. They weren’t bad at all considering that it was a holiday and Mission Space is one of the more popular thrill ride/attractions.

I had time to snap just one picture while walking through the queue and this is it:

We finally stopped near the control center area:

Look! It’s John’s shoes! (Again, no idea why I have a picture of shoes.):confused3

We were led into the room, assigned a number and watched Lieutenant Dan tell us about our upcoming flight. Not long after, we were told to follow the castmember and to stop on our assigned numbers.

Lieutenant Dan came on the screen again and gave instructions to each crew member. Hunter? Are you up for this mission? Looks like it. :thumbsup2 John? Looks like he’s telling me something. :rotfl:

The doors opened and we got situated in our space capsule:

On past trips, I have taken a few still photos inside Mission Space but never tried a video. I thought why not give it a shot. It turned out pretty good. Wanna see? Click on the link below. Please ignore the crazy woman talking and screaming like a girl. That would be me. I only scream to add intensity and drama. Who am I kiddin’? I scream ‘cause it’s fun! :teeth:

We stopped in the Mission Space store and browsed for a minute or two but found nothing that we needed or desired. Well, what are we going to do now?

**Up next: Stupid Judy! Stupid Big Bang Ding Dang! Stupid Epilepsy!

Fun updates! I cannot wait to ride Living With the Land. We've never been on it. Only seen the boats going by when we ate at Garden Grill.

Mission Space. I'll admit it. I'm afraid as all get out to go on that ride. I'm so worried it will make me sick and nauseous and ruin the rest of the day for me. I may send DH on with my oldest DD this year though.

I LOVE Living with the Land. People give it a bad rap and call it hokey, but I think it's relaxing and fun! :thumbsup2

Lord, it's been so long since I've been in Mission Space that I don't remember that rocket, the control center or John's shoe. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seriously, I heard you giggle and then I had to turn it off...I was getting sick just watching it. I give more power to you for being able to do it.

Me and rides that spin do NOT get along, so I cannot try MS. It is a ride that our poor DD14 must go on as a single rider every year, because she loves it and none of the rest of us can handle. :crazy2:

I know exactly why you took a picture of John's shoes... they glow and look COOL!!! :thumbsup2 Either that or you just know we Dis'ers like to see pictures of just about anything as long as the pictures were taken at Disney... ::yes:: :rotfl2:

I don't know how I got so behind!

Love John's cool shirt! I was expecting like a super cool Hawaiian shirt in my head...:rotfl2: I think it is hilarious that he got so much attention from it!!

I know what you mean about the Grand Floridian! It is not my style, but I love how elegant it is.

When I write my chapter and include our trip on Living with the Land I am going to include a link to your TR and say "see photos" ;) We were there a few days later and I didn't take a single picture, so we will just go with what you took!:lmao:

We are sissies! We did the green version multiple times.... I didn't tell my kids there was a more intense version.:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 Okay I am the sissie!!:guilty: My daughter would have rode the orange version without hesitation.

Great updates!

I really miss having a real person for a guide on Living with the Land. We always asked extra questions and even had a guide help us find Hidden Mickey's once! I loved the personal touch.

I like Mission Space a lot, but I tend to only ride when I am feeling really well. If I am even a tiny bit off, it does a number on me!

Love John's glowing shoes. But I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your video! Hearing you scream like a girl was fun!! We have never actually been on Mission Space. DD was afraid of it on our last trip and DH doesn't ride most of the rides, so me and Mom just skipped it. I think it will be a gotta-do next time!

My DH and I refuse to do Mission Space. Not much makes me sick but I really don't want to chance it. My DH gets nauseous on Star Tours so he refuses to do it too. Maybe one day I'll get enough guts to do the easy side.

I saw the pictures of the Murphy beds at CBR. They are so cute. We will diffidently be stay at CBR our next trip.

I am an adrenaline junkie when it comes to my theme park rides. The bigger, crazier the roller coaster, that happier I am. However, I absolutely can not do Mission Space. It makes me sooooo ! More power to you for being able to handle that ride! :thumbsup2 Sounds like y'all had fun on it for sure!

Seriously? You have got to go on Living with the Land if only for that one time. It's pretty darn cool.

If you think that there's a possibility that you may up-chuck on Mission Space, then do the green version. No spinning is involved on that version.

I LOVE Living with the Land. People give it a bad rap and call it hokey, but I think it's relaxing and fun! :thumbsup2

I like it too! Nothing hokey about it at all!

Lord, it's been so long since I've been in Mission Space that I don't remember that rocket, the control center or John's shoe. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

If anything, I thought that you'd at least remember John's shoe on Mission Space. :lmao:

Seriously, I heard you giggle and then I had to turn it off...I was getting sick just watching it. I give more power to you for being able to do it.

My sister is like that. She got sick on Star Tours.

Me and rides that spin do NOT get along, so I cannot try MS. It is a ride that our poor DD14 must go on as a single rider every year, because she loves it and none of the rest of us can handle. :crazy2:

I wonder if you could do the green side of Mission Space since it doesn't spin?

I know exactly why you took a picture of John's shoes... they glow and look COOL!!! :thumbsup2 Either that or you just know we Dis'ers like to see pictures of just about anything as long as the pictures were taken at Disney... ::yes:: :rotfl2:

Yep, that's probably why I took it. I know that I've done that on Peter Pan simply because our shoe strings glowed. :sad2:

I don't know how I got so behind!

Love John's cool shirt! I was expecting like a super cool Hawaiian shirt in my head...:rotfl2: I think it is hilarious that he got so much attention from it!!

Isn't it crazy how the shirt got so much attention? It's just a plain shirt!

I know what you mean about the Grand Floridian! It is not my style, but I love how elegant it is.

It's such a pretty resort and I'm sure that I'd never turn down a free stay there if if were offered to me.;)

When I write my chapter and include our trip on Living with the Land I am going to include a link to your TR and say "see photos" ;) We were there a few days later and I didn't take a single picture, so we will just go with what you took!:lmao:

Go right ahead and link away. We rode it again during the trip and I took even more pictures.

We are sissies! We did the green version multiple times.... I didn't tell my kids there was a more intense version.:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 Okay I am the sissie!!:guilty: My daughter would have rode the orange version without hesitation.

Nothing wrong with being a sissy! I've bowed out of riding quite a few things in my lifetime.

Me too! I too had them point out hidden Mickeys to us before.

Well, you saw the name of the next chapter didn't you.....hint....hint....ugh!

I was screaming like a little girl! I wonder if you could all ride the green version of Mission Space. There's no spinning at all so it's more tolerable.

Oh goodness, if you husband gets nauseous on Star Tours, then I think I'd stay away from Mission Space. Moving screens make my sister woozy.

I would love to have a room with the murphy bed. Not because we need it but it's so cute!

Really? I'm usually a tittie baby when it comes to thrill rides but I love Mission Space.

I think we'll try the wimpy side first - at least me, DD and Mom. Doubt DH will go on that one, either. If we make it through that - we'll try the Green Side. We have got a while before we try it, though. But at least we have plans to go again - even if it is a ways off.

Well Lisa is just the updating queen lately, huh? First of all....love John's shoes -- almost as much as his popular t-shirt!!! You rock the fashion John!!! :lmao: I watched your Mission Space video and all I could do was smile! I love your screams and your response that your button didn't light up for the hypersleep was hilarious with your cute southern drawl!

We all love Living with the Land as well. Like you I have a gazillion pictures of it! I just wish the pictures wouldn't be so red in the water tank part, but oh well. I always buy the Mickey's mini gardens they sell outside of Soarin. I can't help myself!

Looking forward to another update!!! :thumbsup2

Hey Ann! Aren't the shoes and shirt the most spectacular things you have ever seen in your life. :lmao:

I hate hearing myself talk. I sound like a country bumpkin. :sad2:

Do the mini gardens really grow? I am always tempted to buy something.

Looking forward to another update!!! :thumbsup2

I hope to get another update posted today. Yep, today!

All power to you for riding EITHER side of that torture chamber! The one (and i must state ONLY) time that i let my family convince me to "come on mom, just try it" I had to practically crawl outside to find a bench. Without a word of a lie i spent over TWO HOURS with a towel over my head moaning. Don't know what possessed me to try it -- i can't even ride the ferry to MK due to motion-sickness

Now on the other hand, get out of my way so that i can clamber in and float through the gardens!! We took the kids on the tour about (eek aging myself here) 20 years ago??? We all loved it and John doesn't know it yet but i have it slotted in for this trip too :cool1:

Oh no! You poor thing you....you must have been miserable!

What a great surprise for John! We have all done the tour but Jesse hasn't. Depending on how many days they have next trip, we may do the tour again.

Oh and aging yourself? Don't worry about it. We're about to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

Stupid Judy! Stupid Big Bang Ding Dang! Stupid Epilepsy!

While standing in the dump shop outside of Mission Space, John’s face started twitching but not too badly. :( Usually, he can put two of his “magic pills” a/k/a Ativan under his tongue, we can sit some place where it’s nice and cool and it’ll stop. Ellen’s Universe of Energy was nearby and it would be air conditioned and it’s pretty long so he’d have plenty of time to sit and relax. I asked if that was okay or if we needed to go somewhere else and he said that he wasn’t feeling too bad so we walked on over.

As we were walking up, the doors opened and everybody was let into the pre-show area. Of course, just like always, lots of people started sitting down on the floor. Can they not stand for even the pre-show? :confused3 I know that I get tired and I want to plop down on the floor sometimes but I won’t do it. I don’t know...maybe I’m the only one who thinks that it’s stupid but whatever. After a few minutes, a castmember tells everybody that there’s no sitting and they must all stand up.

Anyway, so while we are standing there, watching Ellen move from screen to screen, John said that his face was twitching even more. :worried: I asked if we needed to leave and he said no. The doors opened and we found a row that had no others in it just in case he needed to lie down on the bench. If he closes his eyes and watches his breathing, it will help to relax him. After 15 minutes, he can take another Ativan and it had been 15 minutes. The third one seemed to help but he stayed sitting still with his eyes closed for nearly the entirety of the attraction.

Hunter and I tried to enjoy the show but the reality was that John’s epilepsy was rearing it’s ugly head. Stupid Judy! Stupid Big Bang Ding Dang! Stupid Epilepsy! :furious:

John still didn’t feel very well and wanted to sit down somewhere in the shade and get something cold to drink. He didn’t want Hunter to miss out on anything though so John and I sat outside while Hunter went into the Innoventions building to check things out. He said that he would probably do Sum of All Thrills since it had a 25 minute wait. In the meantime, I found a snack cart that sold water and frozen drinks. I bought John a bottled water and a frozen mango slush:

About 20 minutes or so passed and John finally started feeling better. We never know what will cause the auras or twitching. We are just thankful that he has those warning signals and petit mal seizures and not what we call “full blown seizures”. John told me to go in and see what Hunter was doing while he called his brother. He doesn’t like anybody hovering over him or making a big deal out of his epilepsy but he knows that I sometimes have to. But, once he’ll suggest something like checking on Hunter, then I know that it’s okay to leave him alone.

I walked into the Innoventions building and then called Hunter. He said that he was just about to get onto Sum of All Thrills. You can see a tiny bit of his hat in this picture. Perfect timing! I was able to take a short video of him. There was a glare on the plexiglass that I tried to block but it didn’t work too well. Click on the picture below to watch.

I asked him if the ride had many twists or turns or anything and he said that he had designed it to and it did. Guess it just didn’t look that way from the observers viewpoint.

Hunter asked how John was feeling and I told him that he was a lot better. I could see the look of relief on Hunter’s face. He’s never seen John have a grand mal seizure or seen the things that Lacey has witnessed but he’s seen enough that it still worries him. And, he’s such a tender hearted soul that he hates to see anyone ill or suffer. :lovestruc I assured him that John was okay and was waiting on us to come out and go have more fun.

John was still sitting right where I left him (along with two other Dads right across from him) and was on the phone. This time, he was talking to Mama which was perfect timing. Hunter talked to her and told her what all we had done that morning and explained Sum of All Thrills to her. John gave me the wink and nod that he was, indeed, better.
