So fast! That's exciting. I actually live that sailing. Only castaway cay and sea day. No Nassau! I was really hoping for that same itinerary next year but no dice. :/

So exciting for you! What plans do u have in mind? On board/at the beach?

Yes, it is coming fast. We started planing in September 2013 and it seemed so far away then! When We first booked I think the boat was stopping in Nassau and I was a little disappointed because I wanted to get married on the boat but I didn't want Nassau in the background. I found out a couple months after that the ship was not stopping there and that it was replaced with a sea day. Bonus! Only negative is that it would have been nice for the ship to be less crowded as it would be on a port day. I have my heart set on getting married in Outlook as I would rather not have to worry about the weather.

This is EXACTLY why I wanted that itinerary! Congrats to you!! I'll be following along your pj. Ps-when did U go to Alaska? We just got back from the first sailing this year. Such a great trip :)

We went last July (2013). It's where I got engaged! It was literally the best vacation I have ever been on. Did you do any excursions?

That's exactly how it was. I am glad that Disney takes care of many of the details because otherwise I would be completely stressed. This week i'm working on deciding on the food for our welcome reception and favor bags. It is frustrating because I still have people who are not sure if they are going. I originally bought 20 bags but now we may have as many as 25 and I still want an extra bag to keep. Sigh...

I got our wedding rings!!! Matt's ring is a hammered gold with a matte kind-of finish (he didn't want a shiny ring). I am actually getting 2 wedding rings. My main ring is my mom's wedding ring. Since my dad passed away about 12 years ago, she is letting me have it. It is currently being re-sized and is a gold band with five small diamonds along the top. I got a second ring because on my occupation. Since I'm a nurse, I don't feel comfortable wearing my mom's ring at work. Two of my co-workers have told me stories of loosing a ring when taking gloves off. I also use hand sanitizer a lot at work which isn't good for the ring. Plus, it just doesn't seem sanitary considering some of the things a touch at work lol and I am worried about accidentally scratching my patients. I actually wear my engagement ring on a necklace while I'm at work, but I really want to wear my band because I want everyone to know that I am married! So, for all of those reasons, Matt and I decided to get me a thin plain band that I could wear at work. This ring will still be special to me but the devastation I would feel over loosing my mom's ring can't even compare!

Question, does anyone know if it is possible to pay to get your makeup done on the ship?

Yes. I believe it is like $75 BUT you have to bring your own makeup! For me it wasn't worth it. I unfortunately did my own with a little help from my friends and photographer.

Wow! This thread grew! I love how many DCL brides are here now!!!

I am glad to now officially add on my 'new' wedding date since our last one didn't quite work out. :guilty:

An and I will finally be getting married on the 7-day Fantasy Cruise - October 11-18th! Super excited and happy to be back on the boards now that real life has settled down since I left.

kbast - the wedding bangs look amazing, and I love the hammered gold idea. It looks (might sound weird but I mean it as a compliment) manly and earthy. Will definitely be clinging to the PJ link you just posted!!!

Congrats on booking your cruise! A 7-day cruise sounds awesome. We are doing a 7-day for our honeymoon. Is it this October? How big is your party? Tell me more!

Thanks for the feedback on the bands. I read your comments to my fiance and he was like "yes! that's exactly what I thought!" haha. He was the difficult one when deciding on rings. He looked through the internet and at stores for months before deciding.

I'm excited to share more and to hear about other bride's plans.

It so funny how that works i want the wedding to be here already since we skipped our yearly dcl cruise this year  but then i still have so many things I want to do and plan you know lol??? but disney does take care of so much its really helpful and thats how I am i just want to know EXACTLY whose coming to get the right amount of favors! and have you put the favors together yet? would love to see what your putting inside!

oh and i love the rings!

So I am still trying to decide on the cake. I know that I want the "under the sea" design for sure. It is just beautiful and such a perfect fit for our wedding! Cake flavors are another story. Let me share the conversation that I had with my DF concerning cake flavor...

Me: Okay honey, we need to pick cake flavors. Let's see, the flavor choices are vanilla, chocolate, or marble.

Matt: Whatever you want is fine with me, Kat.

Me: I want you to be involved in the decision!

Matt: No, seriously. Whatever you want.

Me: No. I have been making most of the decisions. I want you to help make this one. Let's make this easy. My mom hates vanilla cake and your dad hates chocolate cake so lets make one tier chocolate and one tier vanilla.

Matt: Okay

Me: So what flavor should we make the bottom half?

Matt: Marble

Me: :confused::sad2::headache:

Yes! I want the wedding to be here but at the same time I'm terrified because I'm not ready. We skipped our yearly cruise too. For the last 2 years we have taken a cruise in June or July. But I guess we will make up for it since we are taking 2 almost back to back. I made a post about my favors this morning. I will paste it down below. What are you doing for favors?

Favor Bags:

So I still haven't completely decided on everything in my favor bags, but I wanted to share my progress so far. So, I went through so many different ideas when deciding on favors. I am not particularly crafty and I am OCD enough that I did not want to have everything be handmade because it would bother me if they did not look the same.

SO the one thing that I am making by hand are the favor tags. I wanted to really represent that this is a Disney wedding, without it looking really cartoonie or childlike. For the tags I just used cardstock in black and red, ribbon, a hole punch, scissors, glue, a silver sharpie (although I am thinking of using a gold one instead, what do you think?) and a mickey head outline that I found online. I cut the whole head outline out of black cardstock and then cut out half circle shapes from the red and glued them together. I originally got white card stock and used a hole punch to get small white circles to use as Mickey's "buttons". This is how you see it pictured. My new idea is to buy actual small white buttons to glue on instead. I also have not written any other names on the tags other than this sample one, as I am still not sure of who is coming. I used that hole punch to punch a whole in the ear so I can tie it on the handle of the bag. I found this cute nautical ribbon on sale at Michaels. I don't have enough to do all of he bags, but I think it will be cute to have 3 or 4 different ribbon styles.

FavorTags_zpse9d0b859.jpg

And that is my ring on my finger in the picture. Matt is always getting annoyed at me when it is flipped the wrong way, but sometimes it just has a mind of its own. Plus then it looks like a wedding band and I get to pretend that I'm already married, for awhile!

Next is the bag! This is the part that I am most excited about. I found these bags on etsy and fell in love. I originally wanted the bags to say Boucher Wedding 2014. I decided to go with Bon Voyage instead because I thought the bags were more likely to get re-used by my guests this way. I cannot say enough about these bags! They came out beautifully! I got ones with bows for the ladies and ones without for the guys. Jennifer, the wonderful lady who made the bags, also threw in a special surprise "Just Married" bag for me! I almost started crying when I saw it and I can't wait to use it on the cruise!

So in the bag, I am including these cute nautical beach towels!

For each of the ladies bags, I found these bracelets.

Those are all of the items that I have already purchased. I will be getting these personalized sunscreens. I love that they come on a carabiner so I can hook them onto the outside of the bags. I am planning on having them say something like "Matt and Kat's Disney Dream Wedding".

I am still throwing around ideas for one more item inside the bag. I have thought about little bags or maybe jars of candy. I also think a little cruise emergency bag would be fun. It would include individual packs of tums, shout stain wipes, sea-sickness medication, ect. I am looking for something reasonably inexpensive since I have spent quite a bit of money on the bags and the towels and I may have to get more, depending on the guest count. I will update when I decide. Any ideas are welcome!

We wanted to poke fun at our cruise-skeptic family members so we went with a shipwrecked wedding theme. Our wedding website is unlocked if you want to take a peek at our engagement photos. Here is the save the date:

I love your favors your bags are so cute I love them! Here are some of my favors to share this was posted on my PJ as well :goodvibes
Wedding Favors:

So like many other DCL brides before me we have a lack of things we can make custom! So I am throwing myself into a lot of DIY wedding favor projects so first up is my pixie dust! I first saw this on Pinterest then on the DISboards and I just love the little whimsical touch so I had a $100.00 gift card at hobby lobby major score and I went and purchased little vials with cork toppers they were the cutest things ever , the only bummer was they were glass and I wanted plastic because I have to fly with them and then have them delivered so I would hate for them to break, but I am thinking of just wrapping them all up in bubble wrap and putting them in either mine or my bridesmaid carry on and then repacking them before I hand them over to be delivered on board (have any other brides done something similar to this?) So I also bought 5 different types of glitter to mix together to achieve my pixie dust, it was so much fun me and my bridesmaid sat on the patio mix everything together and then putting everything in the vials and corking them back up so without further ado my favorite part of PJ’s pictures!

Now all that is left with the pixie dust project is to add a tag with pixie dust I am in the debating stage of that of what kind of tag to add and what will look good (any suggestions?)

Now I also ordered my canvas tote bags, I went to cheaptotes.com I highly recommend this site, I ordered 20 tote bags for .89cents each can’t beat that and shipping was only 9.99 so a total of 27.79 for $20.00 tote bags or 1.39 per bag if you add shipping in and I ordered the bags on a Sunday and by Friday I received them so I can’t say enough about that, now with my hobby lobby gift card I also purchased some silk screens for the bag, and the brand I purchased had a free website where you could make templates. Now side note: I had already had a template however I couldn’t get the image to mirror so it would end up being backward on the bag so I scrapped that and made a new one I ended up with Melissa and Andre and an anchor with rope and a rose in the middle a mixture of a nautical Disney cruise and the beauty and the beast without it overpowering things, at the bottom I added Disney Fantasy, May 2015 I opted for just the month because I won’t find out until 45 days out the exact day of my wedding and why risk it! So here are some pictures of the bags

015_zps6490e782.jpg

016_zps09a70dd3.jpg

017_zpse47e6f6c.jpg

Now the process was simple I printed out the templates then stuck them in the center of the bag put the iron on (the only oopsie was my old iron was too weak and did not cut it so I bought a shark iron and it was the best thing I ever did and got the job done!) after ironing it on the paper lifted off and here is a final look:

022_zps268c1b9c.jpg

I also made a bag for me to have to keep wedding related items in:

020_zps9597b210.jpg

Now I don’t know if they are done my fiancé thinks they look fine but I feel like they are missing something but I am not sure what so I will continue to look around but any suggestions are appreciated!
Now the other thing I purchased (busy wedding favor weekend) was these wooden rings from Lowes (I saw this idea on another Disboard wedding PJ I am not sures who but thank you for the idea!)

025_zpsb7fa49b4.jpg

028_zps7fcda55b.jpg

Wooden rings

And then with that huge hobby lobby gift card I purchased some brown twine and made little life rings by unscrewing the gold hooks out of the ring and then wrapping it in twine and putting a little dot of hot glue to stick the end too and then repeat three times, they came out so cute!!! Now their purpose is to be my wedding favor bags labels, so I will write the last name and state room number, now to double ensure it gets to the right place I will probably put some kind of label on the back because I have heard of bags going astray and I would hate for that to happen or I may hand deliver them decisions decisions!
And here is the final product!

031_zpsf2a5dca8.jpg

034_zpscfa72b92.jpg

037_zpse42318b2.jpg

Now while browsing Michaels (dangerous!) I found these little dollar frames in gold and then an idea struck me! Table numbers now I am going to put a prince and princess picture in each frame with a table number (now I am not asking whether or not I can bring these because I have heard mixed things the wedding coordinators love to say no but once on board they love to say yes so I figure bring them and if the onboard coordinator says they can’t place them my bridesmaid will place them right when the dining room opens I am hoping they do it for me so we will see )! also I found these anchor name card tags so on each plate will be their name plus a little note saying thanks for join us now I just bought the supplies and haven’t started working on it yet but once I do I will make sure to take pictures, I will just make a bunch of table signs because I can’t turn in my seating chart until 45 days out and that will determine how many I take but I can write everyone’s name and little letter and then last minute put a corresponding table number! I am very excited about this little project it will let the whole dining room know who is here for the wedding!

Next up: Cake topper, hand sanitizers

Let me know what you think!
