DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

Jess (Or Lia or Gina, if you read this!), can you tell me what the vegetarian option was at Garden Grill? I have been thinking of eating there on my next trip, but have been a little skeptical because of how the food is served (all the meats and vegetables plated together, and I am picky in the fact that I don't want my food to have meat touching it).

May 30th, 2013 (Part 1) - Typhoon Lagoon and Downtown Disney!

The beautiful thing about this morning was that we could all pretty much roll out of bed and go. Why? Because we were going to a water park. And not just any water park - TYPHOON LAGOON!

The bus was waiting for us at the stop so we hopped and and went right to Typhoon!

We walked in and Stitch was just coming out for his first greeting of the day! So we all had to take a group picture with our favorite alien! HANG LOOSE!

Then we grabbed lockers and headed out into the park! For breakfast, me Alicia and Maggie split some mini donuts. They were the only breakfast type food we could find and they were DELICIOUS!! NOMS! I love donuts. They were fresh and covered in SUGAR!!!

We went on EVERYTHING. We did Crush N Gusher, Keelhaul Falls, Gang Plank Falls, May Day Falls, Humunga Kowabunga, Shark Reef, and we ended with the Wave Pool!

After that we went to the gift shop, returned the key for our lockers, Alicia bought a really pretty skirt, we looked at the pin book, and then it was time to head back to the resort! We were hungry!!

We went to Landscape of Flavors and everyone got some lunch! I got the create your own pasta again. I had been craving it since I got it with Lia and it was DELICIOUS!!

Then for dessert I got nutella gelato. You know.... I still can't even believe that this exists. It's SO GOOD.

We were going to lay out after lunch but it was very cloudy and it started to rain. So we went back to the room and showered and got ready.

We took the bus to Downtown Disney and did a little bit of shopping! Yay!!

Our first stop was the Design-A-Tee store and the idea just dawned on me that we should make frump t-shirts!!! YAYY. They were pretty affordable especially since we got to design them ourselves! We decided on purple and princesses! Perfect!

Then we went over and hung out with our main man, Buzz! He's such a ladies man.

Nat was in love.

We love Buzz!!

Then we went into a bunch of other stores! We did some damage in Fun Finds, Tren-D, World of Disney, and Arribas Bros!

Yay shopping!

I even did some pin trading! I found a cute Rapunzel pin and two REALLY cool Star Wars pins!!

Then we picked up our shirts which are PERFECT. Thanks for all of the fun, Downtown Disney!

Then we caught the bus over to the Grand Floridian!

May 30th, 2013 (Part 2) - Ohana Means Frump!

We had to take Maggie over to see the Grand and Nat had never seen it either. They were AMAZED. I love seeing first time reactions to that place!!

We hopped on the monorail and took it over to the Polynesian. We all said the "Por favor" spiel in unison so it was pretty much perfect. And obnoxious. Disney frumps over here!

We arrived at the Poly and checked in for our dinner reservation at Ohana!

It only took a little while to get seated and then we were brought to the table.

Everyone was just in love with this meal. The food kept coming and coming and it was a huge feast. We were all getting crabby due to lack of food and Ohana just fixed everything. Food solutions.

Everything tasted just as incredible as ever. This food just never disappoints! The steak was especially amazing tonight. And the noodles. And the bread pudding!!! AHHH. Ohana was a big hit!

May 30th, 2013 (Part 3) - "ONE MORE BOAT!"

We all got leis and we took our picture in front of the Ohana sign!

Then we waddled out of the restaurant and got to the monorail! Off to the Magic Kingdom we go!

Our first stop was the Jungle Cruise.

While we were in line, Alicia was like "does your Jungle Cruise skipper friend still work here?" (referring to Ryan!) And I was like "I don't know... I don't think so." And then I looked around and there was Ryan loading all of the boats! However literally ONE minute before we got up there he rotated stations. Of course!

Our cruise was very enjoyable! It was hard to hear our skipper but her jokes were PUNNY! Maggie was cracking up because she loves puns!

After the ride I wanted to stay back and say hi to Ryan. We didn't see him around and figured he was doing a cruise. So Vick, Kristen, and Maggie went to go find a spot for Wishes. I was fine with just leaving but Alicia was like "just wait one more boat!! One more boat!!" So we waited. Then the next boat came around the corner and what do you know... it was Ryan's boat. It was like fate. I yelled over to Ryan after he finished his unload spiel and he was like "OH MY GOD! HEY! JESS! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?"

He came up on the dock and we chatted for a little while about how his professional internship was starting up soon, all about my college program life, etc. Ryan was one of the first people I met and became friends with who actually did the college program. We had met over two years ago at my first college and now here I am on my program! He was really excited to hear about how it was all going because he definitely had a big help in the whole process! While we were talking, this group of little boys came up to Ryan and were joking around with him and were like "hey, you were our Jungle Cruise guy!!" They seemed like little trouble makers but Ryan just was a witty skipper right back at them. It was so funny! It was so cool to see Ryan again after such a long time! We just always seemed to run into each other...

At 10 o'clock he was out of there and we had to go see Wishes. So we said goodbye and made our way to Main Street. It was PACKED and we finally stopped in front of The Plaza to watch Wishes. We only caught the 2nd half but that's alright. Once it was over we fought the crowds back to Adventureland and went on Pirates!! We had a crazy boat full of young kids and it was so much fun!!

Then we walked over to Splash Mountain for the last ride of the night! It's so fun to be on that with a big group of friends!

Then we fought the parade crowds out of Magic Kingdom. We got to the bus stop and the wait for the bus was INSANE. Thankfully they sent two DAAR buses so we were able to hop on one and go back to the resort!

How exciting that you were pulled on stage at the Hoop De Doo Review! I've never been but it looks like an absolute blast! I keep thinking about maybe doing it during our 2014 trip, but I'm not sure our kids will be old enough.

Have you ever been reading a trip report, and it's really great, but you have to get up early? And then you keep clicking to read the next chapter and it keeps getting later.
Yeah..me right now. I love all of the updates! I just wanted to comment again because I was reading the part where Mark is leaving

My family was in WDW in May and we met Ralph. The whole time I was wondering if he was friends with Mark! I love that you took a selfie w/ Ralph

LOVE the Hoop! That corn bread is soooo good! When my sister did her CP several years ago, her and her friends started calling it Crack Bread, because it is soooo good and you just want to keep eating it. That name has stuck with our family. That is probably one of my favorite places to eat on property. We almost know the show by heart lol. One trip we were on the shelf and were acting all crazy and singing along and the woman playing Dolly actually nudged Sixbits, pointed up at us and mouthed WOW. I lost it after that

May 31st, 2013 (Part 1) - The Frumps Go to Hollywood!

This morning we woke up and got ready to go to Hollywood Studios!

We tried to get there as close to park opening as possible. Today was the last Friday of Star Wars weekends, so the traffic getting into Studios was pretty bad but the park itself really wasn't that crowded. I was surprised!

We got Toy Story Mania fastpasses first and they were already for after our lunch reservation! Thank God we didn't get to the park any later than we did!

Hollywood Pictures!

Superstars!

We went to Starring Rolls to get some breakfast and we ate outside of the Brown Derby. I got a cherry turnover, Maggie got a butter finger cupcake, Kristen got red velvet, and Nat got the Darth Vader cupcake!

Our first attraction was Tower of Terror!

"IT DROPS YOU FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF GRAVITY!"

Our ride picture was VERY frumpy. We all enjoyed it quite a lot.

We walked back up Sunset Boulevard and Alicia really loves this car, so we all took a group picture with it!

Our next stop was Animation!

There were about 14 minutes until the next class so we hung out in the air conditioning and then we got to draw Eeyore! I had this specific animator before and I like him because he always lets us vote on our characters. All of our Eeyore drawings came out great!

We walked out of the class and then PLUTO WAS THERE so we hopped right in line and said hello to my favorite puppy in the whole wide world.

In the gift shop, I traded for this AWESOME Prince Eric pin!! I love it!!

Back to Sunset!

Then our next stop was Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage! We got good seats near the front on the right side of the theater. I had never sat that close before and it was awesome!!

May 31st, 2013 (Part 2) - Park Hopping!

Belle was BEAUTIFUL. She was so talented.

Once Belle and the Beast fell in love in 20 minutes, we exited the theater. Then we took a quick trip into the movies at the Great Movie Ride!

Next it was time to go to Sci-Fi! We checked in about 20 minutes early for our reservation.

The Ewok Chippys were out for Star Wars Weekends!

Soon we were called to our table! YAY SCI-FI!

We were seated in a white car. I was STARVING so I started off with a vanilla milkshake that I drank in literally 5 minutes. I was freezing for the rest of the meal but those calories were necessary.

For lunch Kristen and I split the all American picnic burger! Yumm! It was amazing.

Our waitress was really cute and she was from England! So that made for a lovely little lunch time experience. She was nice enough to take great care of us as well as take our picture!

Then we headed over to Pixar Place and ran into our good friend Green Army Man!

It was also time for our Toy Story Mania fastpass! I broke 200,000 but not by much. Ah well.

Then we headed out of the park and went back to AoA. Goodbye Star Wars Weekends! I wish I would've gotten to experience you more. Maybe next year!

The bus ride literally took 5 minutes because there wasn't anymore traffic. It was nuts!! We got back to the room and Vickie, Alicia, and I took naps. Maggie, Nat, and Kristen went to Magic Kingdom.

Once the three of us woke up, we got ready and caught the bus to Magic Kingdom! We walked into the park and took some castle pictures because that had to be done!

Then we went to Tomorrowland and went on the People Mover. Aka the best ride. It's my fave.

It was already inching close to our dinner time so we headed over to Be Our Guest! The walkway between storybook circus and the rest of Fantasyland was finally reopened today so we made our way right through. Yay for convenience!

May 31st, 2013 (Part 3) - Be Our Guest!

Looking back at the castle:

The other three girls were there and they checked us in! We were given a buzzer and we only had to wait about 5-7 minutes on the bridge for our table!

Then we entered the restaurant!

We ate in the West Wing tonight! The girls were FREAKING out when they saw this place. They couldn't even get over how amazing it was!

Our waiters name was Joe and he LOVED us. He kept calling us all beautiful and he was very conversational. He was too funny!

We all ordered our entrees and just basked in the glory of the restaurant. Me and Vick got the steak, Alicia and Nat got the shrimp and scallops, Kristen got the salmon, and Maggie got the kids pasta! Everything was AMAZING. I substituted the fries for the au gratin macaroni and that was definitely a good choice!

Then we all got our desserts!

Me, Kristen, Vickie and Maggie got the strawberry cupcake, Alicia got the chocolate cupcake, and Nat got the chocolate cream puff! NOMS!

We were all VERY happy that we got to eat at Be Our Guest! It was so magical being there all together. Plus sitting in the West Wing was too cool! We got to see the rose and watch the painting change when the lightning went off.. Ahh too cool.

We also got some grey stuff!

We met the master on the way out. He hugged each of us individually and then had us pose for the picture. Then he blew us kisses when we left. What an angel!

Vickie and Maggie wore perfectly themed Magical Ribbons!

After that we went right on Little Mermaid! The line was only posted as 10 minutes aka we walked right on it. I rode with Vick and we sang along to the whole thing!

Then we wandered into Storybook Circus and went on Dumbo during Wishes! It was so magical! I went with Alicia and we had so much fun!

We finished watching the rest of the fireworks and then it was time for THE BARNSTORMER. It's the shortest ride in America, folks!

Then we walked to Space Mountain and rode it! We thought the park was only open until 11 pm tonight but the fastpasses were being distributed until 12 am... so we gained an entire hour on our night! it was so exciting!!!

As far as space, I love having a group of 6 because it fills up the entire car! We had a blast screaming through space! We are SUCH frumps!!

We crossed over Main Street and got some pictures in front of the castle!

Then we walked over to Frontierland to go on Big Thunder Mountain. I rode with Maggie and we were all near the back of the train. It was crazay!

Our last ride of the night was Splash Mountain to round off our triple mountain whammy. Thankfully I avoided getting too wet but Kristen and Alicia got drenched! We did our unamused faces in the picture.

Then it was time to head out. We wandered through the Emporium and then stopped at Guest Relations! Kristen and I met our friend Chelsea who works there and she gave us a little goodie bag full of stuff! It was the sweetest thing!

Then we caught the bus back to Art and headed to sleep!

I am not going to even comment on all of our adventures since obviously my comment on it will be revealed in the form of a MASSIVE trip report. We will be reliving this trip for a VERY long time!

I am so happy you got to be the can can girl. I remember how massively depressed you were during that time and I was praying something special would happen! I know at the time you kept saying you wished that I could stay in Disney for you and you could go home, but look how great things are now! I'm so glad you didn't quit cause I know so many CPs do. Ahh I'm just happy for you. <3

You really look happy in these pics. I'm glad you had such a good time with friends. Being at Disney with good friends who all appreciate the magic and childhood atmosphere is a beautiful thing.
Your "not amused" faces are sweet. I may have to borrow that idea for a ride pic.
Every time I see that strawberry cupcake from bog, I want it so much. That is a "must do" for me!
I can't wait to read MORE!!!
