DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

January 27th, 2013 (Part 5) - MORE OF CHARACTER DAY!

Then the line for Mickey was only 5 minutes (aka WALK ON!) so we went to go meet our boss!

After that we were walking down Main Street USA and this guy asked us if we wanted 4 Space Mountain fastpasses for right now! Ummm&. YES!! Disney magic at its finest.

We had an extra one, so we gave it to a single rider guy who was in the standby line. Passing on the magic!

Did I mention that my roommate, Maria, was placed at Space Mountain? Because she is!

I got to sit in the very back row! WOOHOO!

After that we grabbed some water because I was SO thirsty. We also went to Cheshire Cafe. I got an iced mocha and Mark got a frozen lemonade.

I got a text from Theresa (arbolita here on the DIS!) that she had an extra Big Thunder Mountain fastpass and wanted to know if I would ride with her! Of course!!

So we went over to Frontierland and met up! Mark and Russell came with me but then they went to go get us a spot in line for Naveen and Tiana who were coming out at 6:30 pm.

Theresa and I went on Big Thunder Mountain and it was so nice to meet her! Shes so enthusiastic just like me so we had PLENTY to talk about! We discussed her plans for the trip, how my DCP was going, Gertie the dinosaur, and lots more! It was so fun to meet her after talking on disboards/twitter for so long! She was adorable!

Unfortunately I had to run right after the ride because Naveen was coming out in 7 minutes, so we said our quick goodbyes and I made it over just in time!

Naveen and Tiana were adorable. We had Naveen autograph on the page right next to Tianas, so he wrote a heart on the binding. ADORABLE.

Then we went over to Adventureland and met Aladdin and Jasmine! While we were in line, Mark and I just kept singing the "Dream Along with Mickey" song. "JOIN THE PARTY, A CASTLE PARTY, YOU'RE ALL INVITED TO COME AND JOIN THE FUN!" It was stuck in our head ALL DAY.

That passed the time we had to wait and then it was our turn! They were absolutely precious. I always love meeting them.

I took a picture with them by myself and told them they were my favorites. They got all excited. TOO CUTE.

BACK TO FANTASYLAND!

Our next character was Gaston. He was so overly self-centered - it was hilarious!! The people in front of us asked him how he survived the fall. He said there was actually a trampoline down there. They said really!? And he was like, no, Im just extremely good at athletics! GAHH so funny. Love him. He's Mark's favorite villain.

Then to wrap up character night, we went to Petes Silly Sideshow. We met the Great Goofini!

Then we met Donald! He had a really precious interaction with this little girl in front of us and I was just dying of cute. Seriously, little kids in Disney are the key to my heart. I cant get over how magical it is to watch the experience through their eyes. I hope that when I bring my future kids to Disney, they will have ridiculously adorable character interactions and their eyes will get all big when they see the castle. Thats why I love Disney  its with you every step of the way during your life journey!

Then we went in the gift shop and I found the Animal Muppet pin that I have been looking for since Christmas 2011! WOOHOO I finally found it!

Then we went back around and met Daisy, who gave really great hugs! She was very cute. We asked her to sign the page right next to Donald and she got all excited and kept kissing the book. I LOVE HER.

And our last character of the day was Minnie Mouse! What a lovely way to end!

I think Russell counted and said we met 27 characters today. That has to be a record, right!?

After that we left the Magic Kingdom. We were tired out  we had a full day! We couldn't get over how we spent the whole day at the park and only went on one ride! It's such a different touring experience but we really are blessed to have the time take this different strategy. I love it!

We went back to the apartments and I had an English muffin, a yogurt, and an apple for dinner.

I went over to Marks apartment, got the pictures all situated, and then wrote the trip report updates. The boys were watching Hercules on TV.

See this is why I dont watch TV. TRIP REPORTS. No ones mad though. My attention span does not last long enough.

So I am going to finish up the trip report tonight and then I have one last day off tomorrow. I wonder what Im going to end up doing! I literally have no plans and Mark has work& so we will see!

Ok, I love the Long Lost Characters thing but they really could have picked better characters. They should have polled fans because I bet you anything not a whole lot of votes would have gone toward the Big Bad Wolf. I mean, I don't even think of him as a Disney character... maybe that's just me.

I think it's pretty cool that they had Scrooge there but that's kinda it? I feel like I've definitely seen Clarabelle recently and characters from Pinocchio are not all that rare. THEY NEED HERCULES CHARACTERS. Like, everyone loves Meg and she only comes out like 3 times a year in Epcot and I think the only other place you can even see her is Fantasmic? That's crap. She's awesome. AND WHERE ON EARTH ARE JACK AND SALLY. WHY ARE THEY ONLY AT DISNEYLAND. THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS IS HUGELY POPULAR AND I AM MAD OKAY? I could go on and on but I'm gonna move on now. PHEW.

Ahh I will NEVER FORGET when I saw that ballroom for the first time. We didn't get to go into the West Wing though (IT'S FORBIDDEN!) so I am SO excited to see that. And that rose buzzer (does it buzz? hmm) is the CUTEST THING EVER. I hope they start theming all the buzzers to the restaurants haha. That's just another perfect Disney detail. I can't wait to eat there! I'm so glad your experience was so perfect.

That's the same Tiana I met! Not that there's more than one. But you know. She is WONDERFUL, I agree! Where is my beloved Naveen though?

I LOVE THE PARADE PICTURES. That is a great parade but I preferred the previous soundtrack when it was the Share A Dream Come True Parade (I listen to it all the time still!) so I actually wouldn't mind them changing it again! I would love to see what they come up with next.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE EFFING KIDDING ME WITH THAT RAPUNZEL. No. NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I would never wish someone gets fired but she needs to be re-trained. THAT IS TERRIBLE. They need to hire some professionally trained actors for this AKA ME BECAUSE THAT IS RIDICULOUS. it just makes me mad cause I would love that job so much and I would hold it in such high regard and I wouldn't break if you held a gun to my head. Also, sorry, but look at her face. She has such strong features, especially her chin. Rapunzel does not possess these features. Sorry Disney but WHAT IS UP WITH THIS CASTING.

Yay for meeting up with Theresa! You are like the queen of meeting up with dissers, I love it.

YAY THERE'S NAVEEN! I met him as well! He was so cute and funny at the Halloween party!

Aaaand that Jasmine too. SHE. IS. PERFECT. Her face just matches the animation, like she was born for it! She has that Jasmine attitude down too. I loooved talking to her! See, DISNEY, THIS IS FLAWLESS CASTING NOT THAT JANK RAPUNZEL. WHAT HAPPENED. I know not every princess is going to be AS flawless as her but come on, you can't have people going out of character.

OMG I'm so mad I never met Gaston. I'm so excited to do that when I come visit!

Mark should write a TR or a blog or something! I'm very curious about his experience being BFFs with Goofy.

A coworker was talking to me tonight about his trip to Sea World and how I should go there. I smiled and nodded, but I kept thinking the whole time...Sorry dude, Disney has my heart!!

Between the trip report and Lias very accurate review of Rapunzel I'm cracking up! That makes me sad that she broke character, but I get frustrated when the characters don't look remotely close to the animated ones.

W met the most hilarious Aladdin in Dec! He not only looked the part, but he had the acting bit down. My 12 year old was annoyed by him, but he is just jealous because he wants to be Aladdin and was in a musical of Aladdin. I thought he was funny and it was hilarious watching my child be critical of a character!

I totally regret not going to Be Our Guest. My husband was not in the mood to stand in line with the two year old, but we're going next time come hell or high water!

On a random note, one of my co-workers has pictures of her with all the long lost friends in the 80s. I'm still waiting for the then and now pictures.

That is very sad about Rapunzel!! The one we met was absolutely perfect!

I really want to try Be Our Guest for lunch. We had dinner reservations there over our NY's trip and its absolutely beautiful in there (and out). The service was REALLY slow while we were there, but it was really pretty and I'm glad we were able to have dinner there!

Have been following your TRs for a while now. Just coming out of lurkdom to thank you for sharing this experience with all of us. Even us older folks love to here about the DCP. My DD is sure there will be a spot for her ballerina self in the DCP a few years from now. Here's hoping!!

Ahhhh OMG I just remembered you are going to be there during the whole Limited Time Magic promotion! How exciting!!!!! You're going to see so much cool stuff!!!!

Beasts castle looks amazing. I CANNOT wait to try Be Our Guest! Hopefully we can get in for lunch during our trip in June!!

I'm taking my DBF who has never been to Disney. I'm so excited but I feel like I have so much to do! I want him to have the best first impression, you know? NOTHING would be worse than him hating it!! Now, I don't remember, has Preston been to WDW or just DL? That's so exciting that he can come visit you!!

I swear I'm living vicariously through you on this TR. I really wanted to do the DCP, but I just can't afford to take a semester away from classes! Hearing about your adventures definitely cheers me up, though!!!

Love all of your character pics!! I think I would have been most excited to see the Robin Hood characters! I would love to get one sucking my thumb with Prince John.

Be Our Guest looks soooo amazing! I can't wait to have a meal there...any meal, I don't care which, I just want to eat there.

That Rapunzel interaction...what crap! I would be so disappointed if a character started talking to me out of character, even if I myself am going to be a CM soon. Way to ruin the magic, fake Rapunzel!

The Gaston interaction sounds so fun! Can't wait to meet him. I'll have to think of some fun questions to ask him.

i'm with you on the tv bit... i like to blog etc much the same but of our kids growing up & now is such a good time for you to do it! have you cked out anything like blurb? it is for compressing all of your posts into a book! i know you can transfer from many sites such as blogger & possibly tumblr too. it can get so daunting after you have an obscene amount of posts but you are just at your start so be sure & ck it out! i think it would just be amazing to put all of your journaling & pics into a book ~ voila! for memories

Sounds like a fun character day! When I saw the long lost friends, I had to go back through my old autograph book and it turns out I met a bunch of them when I was little! Actually, the other night we were watching some of our old home videos and the 3 Little Pigs were in it! I don't know when they were last out, but that was from 1993.

Also, just a fun fact. Did you happen to notice the clock's time on the Pinocchio float? Just something my dad and I learned on the Keys to the Kingdom tour.

I really love that blurb idea. The only thing is that I would have to reformat the ENTIRE report. I wish I could use that blog option but it doesn't support this kind of site. I'm going to have to figure something out though... I really want my reports printed out!​

and so glad we get to follow you for an extended stay on your College Program. I only had one regret in my college experience and it was my turning down of the Disney program (once because of a broken wrist and once out of stupidty ). I hope you have an amazing time and I look forward to reading.
