Yay! Just a month and a half to go!

School is out and Mommy is sewing, sewing, sewing...and busy checking out the links to Cars @ AoA since today is its grand opening!

You already know I love the Brave set and the London/Olympics dress, but I don't recall that you've posted the striped Goofy shirt on the Disbou thread. No matter, I will say here that it's GREAT!

One more big to-do checked off: a new backpack for our trip.

Yes, of course I made it...and it has a ton of cool features, but you will have to visit my sewing blog to see all of it. I took a lot of pictures and wrote a lot of explanation. I can't wait to use this!

One month until we hit the World, and we are visiting family in central PA...so we paid a visit to Hershey's Chocolate World which has a rather Epcot-like free ride about how they make chocolate. It provided and interesting opportunity to pre-teach a little Disney behavior such as how to handle lines, stay with your party, be ready to board the ride vehicle, etc. We also had a nice teachable moment in the huge souvenir/food court area when we went to have a snack. While DS#3 did something annoying, it did give us a chance to make it clear about what we expect and what they can expect when we visit Disney.

The coolest thing was how much fun we all had on a simple chocolate-themed ride and anticipating how much they will really enjoy Disney.

Hurray for less than a month for us both!

I have been jealous that you will be at AoA. I think that resort looks AMAZING. we will be at Shades of Green this year because we are traveling with my BIL/SIL and she is a DOD civilian, so we wanted to take advantage of the great rates she gets on rooms. Have you decided what parks you will be visiting on what days?


I didn't comment here but I LOVE the bag. You can tell it was a labor of LOVE and I hope that it does everything and more that you designed it to.

YAY for getting a "practice round" in for Disney! I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Two weeks from today we will be in the parks!! My kids have really started losing their minds with excitement. Meanwhile, I am having a blast working on fun vacation stuff. Here is what I have done since I last updated this thread:

A pool/beach bag:

Popping over from the August board. All I can say is WOW! I am amazed at your skills! I've been debating on if I should attempt to make myself a maxi dress for my trip but I'm too chicken. I have my own sewing machine but my skills are really basic. I used to make quilts and doll clothes with my grandma's help when I was younger and now I use mine just for hemming and for DH's Halloween costumes. I will check out your blog!!

ten more days, ten more days...

and I am sewing my butt off!

The sweatshop is in effect...but I enjoy it. In the last day and half I have embroidered/appliqued on 5 shirts and completed a dress with nine applique/embroidery designs.

8 more days until we leave...and in the last 24 hours, this is what I did for the trip:

Flannel Perry sleep shorts for my older boys (they are the same size = mostly interchangeable wardrobe)
Black tee with Fantasia Mickey and the broom - DH
Green Pooh tee - me
Green giraffe & Mickey tee - for Benjamin, who is obsessed with giraffes (His little eyes bugged out when he saw it)
Tan safari Pluto tee - for Matthew
Green Simba tee - for Jamie
Pink Mom tee - me (duh!)
Orange Dad tee - DH (who else?)

I am currently about to sew together one more top for me before I go to bed. (NO, I didn't sew these tees - all store bought and embellished by me! LOL)

The bags are mostly packed; we leave in the morning...

This is the pile of stuff I either made and/or embroidered for the trip:

I've made some hairbows today...will finish them in the car (I hand sew mine with invisible thread and I hate hot glue guns anyway.)
