Disney Brides - O/T Chat

We are going to Jack's family to tell them all about the wedding plans and prices.

If I'm honest I'm dreading it. They are all so miserable lately and have a list as long as my arm why the cant make it. Including

-can't afford it (they don't know how much it is! also they buy paintings for like £600)

- don't want to travel for that long (but they'll drive 6 hours in a car)

- don't like america (none of them, have ever been)

- might be pregnant then (ok.....you also mgiht not)

- don't have a passport......

So you can see my anger.....

Urgh!!!! Hope it all goes ok - try not to get mad, could you show them prices to show them how it cheap it could be too go? I always seen last min deals for about £350 for a week flights+hotels off site - thats cheaper than Europe!!

I'm going to one of my old school's friends leaving do before she emigrates to Oz next week and then Sunday is mothers day so need to make arrangements to spoil my mummy  !!

Well I'm hoping they know we're serious now seeing as I've sent out Save the Date cards.

That's a good idea saying about booking.

I've arrange an engagement shoot with the Roots, so I can kinda say I've booked the photographers without lying.

Yes the save the dates will be a pretty clear indication!

Can you take a list along and leave it on the coffee table or something with all the invited peoples names on it and in big letters next to each name ACCEPTED or something and then next to their names a big red question mark so its obvious that they are the only ones not coming.

Hello!! Sorry, I've been AWOL today - it's been hectic. We're arranging a huge Moot Court competition here next week and it's a bit of a logistical nightmare. So I'll probably be AWOL next week too until I can put my feet up on Sunday :)

Torsie - I will update the Dining TR as soon as I can ;) I'll try upload some POFQ pics in a minute, ImageShack didn't like me very much yesterday.

Oh, and the thing is in the post ;) Sorry, I've been running around trying to find a padded envelope everywhere!

Sorry to hear about your IL troubles... we're lucky in that everyone was on board with the Florida wedding (surprisingly!) - Definitely tell them you've booked the (non-refundable) photographer.

Have you called Disney yet? You're less than 2 years out now aren't you! I would totally call them! Maybe you can say you have a Co-ordinator then as well?

Tell them that it doesn't matter to you if no one comes except his mum and dad, and your mum and dad - that it's a wedding for *you* and no one else.

And if she doesn't like that, she can throw a party for you when you get back.......:scared1: :rotfl2:

Oh and I also need to see this Mountie  How have you done your hair Gemma?

It has been absolutely lovely here today and yesterday, so we are having a BBQ tonight! In March  I love Bucks Fizz and bought a bottle yesterday at Tesco for £1.99! They were £3.99 there at Xmas!! So I'll be having that with my burger :)

Oh, oh, and I just wanted to do a little dance as I just finished teaching my last tutorial until October - I like the teaching, but it does really get in the way of my PhD! So I'm giving them a revision tutorial after Easter, but officially I'm done! :)

What's a Moot Court competition?

I think Disney prefer you to wait till 18 months to call.

No Mountie sightings today.

I love bucks fizz!

It's like a Mock Trial - The participants get a fake 'case', then they have to defend/prosecute, the judge decides who 'wins'. The one we have next week has 12 teams from all over the world, and it can give you a headache to sort accommodation, buses, food, the actual Mooting.... eek! I should be a professional event planner

I'm sure Stacey has a consultant, which is why I was wondering

I wouldn't mind being an event planner.

Perhaps Stacey got one because of her trip :confused3

No, I haven't called.

I was going to leave it till 18 months.

BUT we are going out at the 17 month mark, and I'd like to arrange a site visit and maybe a little meeting with them just incase we can't go out again next year for a planning trip.

I don't want to call to late and not get an Appt. But I also don;t want to call too early.

I was thinking maybe July....what do you recon?

i called as soon as i was engaged at 2 years out!!

I then called back a couple months later and got through to heidi a sales consultant who was very helpful and she took all our details and we got an email address so we could talk via email, at around 18 months we got another sales consultant bill who was with us up till we got our contract and planner assigned.

I'm not sure how much they will let you do at 17 months out and you will prob only be able to meet with a consultant and not a planner. I'm sure a site visit will be fine and of course francks anyone can pop in as long as its open

Cool.

I might call a bit sooner then.

I'm not expecting them to actually help me 'plan' in October. Just I'd like to be shown the whitehall, and pavillion officially than having to sneak about!

Ooooh, it's exciting!

the pavillion is normally open anyway so no sneeking neccessary and the whitehall room is located in the convention centre and once again always open so you can just pop in there, thats what we did. we never had a site visit at all just viewed them ourselves.

The only time they wont let you in if something is on but the convention centre is quite big so you can walk around and then just wont be able to get into the whitehall room.

There was a function on when we went for our meny tasting and so could only look at the patio so we just went back a couple days later

Cool, that's great to know, thanks sweetie! :)

I'm also tempted to ask about the suites at the GF and poly, and the garden cottages at BW as I want quite a big room to get ready in on my wedding day morning....

I also love to be nosey!! Can you tell?

Smart idea babes! (both on the bumping and phoning!!)

I am about to go and have a bath now, just finished watching the sperm programme on channel 4, I thought it was really smart and well made!

Poor sperm though, 250million started that journey...and they all died except one. :( I swear they made the show on purpose so you got really attached to the sperm people!!

I'm also scared I'm going to have nightmares about the scary red blood cell men!

I phoned just after 18 months and got a contact who I could then e-mail at Disney, I've e-mailed her millions of questions to which she has always come back with answers really quickly.

No mountie sightings so far this week, did see a mountie costume on Saturday though when I went to get my 70s costume.

Thats great Claire - I didnt think they would be that helpful with an escape :goodvibes.
