Lars, I do hope that if it is Lupus that they are able to treat it so she won't be in any more pain. I know a few who live with it and do well with whatever treatments they have.

Oh and tomorrow will be the brownie day... just too lazy to make them today.

Morning Everyone!

Another beautiful day here today. The whole Shamrock Bunch is going to the final home game for the Pirates today. Looks like it will be a great day to sit outside. Now we just have to pray for a win, or at least not a blowout. Went to the local football game last night w/ one of my other sisters. We won and are undefeated at 3-0. It started to get a little chilly sitting there, but otherwise not bad for just wearing a sweatshirt and running pants. My DS won his soccer game yesterday too and scored a goal!

Official Band Day Trip Report

Out of the total band and color guard of 35 members, we had 15 attend. One band member who didn't have an instrument did flags with color guard. The 2 drummers didn't go on the field, and a saxaphone player faked it with a trumpet. They didn't all have music but shared what they had and borrowed from other bands. Apparently we were not the only school this happened to. A school in nearby Delaware had their director's approval but no bus so they car-pooled. Another school, whose students were told not the come, sent a few dressed in their band t shirts and jeans. The band director at the University of Delaware could not have been more accomodating. She knew there were kids there whose schools had said they couldn't come. When she annouced the band names of those officially there, she also annouced that other dedicated individuals were also performing. At practice when she was trying to find out which schools had made it there, she never said Elkton. She described us as "the school right over the state line that begins with E." It was all very PC so no one would get in trouble. The band director from another school in our county came up to me and asked if we were from Elkton. I said "no" but is was obvious with out band shirts on. She was very upset that they were told not to come. I told her I was a parent just bringing some kids.

I am glad we went. It was a lot of fun. I am espescially glad the seniors had the chance to go. They played "Turn the Beat Around" and "Soak up the Sun." It is so neat to see all the different high school uniforms mixed in with UD. And it was so much easier to pick out my own kids because they were in polo shirts and without hats.

Now lets just hope this is the end of it and there are no repercussions Monday. I don't think there could be. It was a public place and we went there on our own, and were invited as individuals by the band director there.

BTW, our band director did get there after we were in the stadium and I think he was glad the kids were there and he had nothing to do with it.

Sorry this is such a long post but I had a lot to share. Thanks for supporting me through these last couple of days.

Ushered at the symphony last night and then enjoyed the concert. Afterwards I went to a local bar and sang some karaoke.
"Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac ... and "soak up the sun" by sheryl crow ..... then some guy that had also been singing came over and asked if I wanted to sing a duet w/ him .... so we sang
endless love .... and then he left w/ his girlfriend ! It was fun
anyway !

About the brownie thing... I am a little PO'd. I admit, I do not buy eggs... almost ever. I will buy them when I am making things like flan, but otherwise, I don't like them, so I don't buy them. So anyway, I was making the brownies when I cracked the egg and goo came out... the eggs were old and bad and since some of the egg did drop into the batter, I had to ditch it all So no brownies. At least not yet. I'll try again later tonight.

Sandy, sounds like you had a good time. I sing karaoke with my DD here at home, but I'd never have the courage to do so in public. I admit that my singing leaves something to be desired.

Lars, I'm sorry to hear that they think it's Lupas, but anything is better than not knowing. Hopefully they can get it under control. David used to have a girlfriend whose mother had Lupas. She did quite well once she had a diagnosis.

LK, I don't think I wished Lenny a happy birthday. Please give him my best wishes.

Steph, you are going to WDW? I went in December a few years ago and it was fantastic. My favorite time of the year to visit there, in fact!

Our football game was great. Amy and I enjoyed ourselves. It was sunny and warm with a cool breeze. Perfect football weather and we won! One of our players even broke 2 NCAA records at the game. It was fun. My face got sunburned, but not bad.

I came home to a crockpot full of bubbling beef brisket. I fed the crew and headed out to the baby shower. It was nice and the baby was darling. I got my baby fix for the next few months, as I got to hold him for about an hour. Nothing smells like a baby.

Today we stayed home from church and slept in. We are getting ready to go to the airport this afternoon and pick up David. He is supposed to get in around 5:00 and then we are planning to go out to dinner. I'll check back later.
