DisMom Princesses in training for the Princess 1/2

Love the incentive Maria!!!! That's a great goal!!

I haven't run in forever! I was sick all weekend, and today is the first day my ribs don't hurt when I cough, sneeze, or bend over. All of my muscles hurt, but I don't have a fever (sure does feel like it though).
I do feel a little ok today, so I'm going to repeat week 5.

I did download the bridge to 10K program but I need to put it on my phone.

Hope you feel better soon!

I'm going to start W1D1 again today. I'm a little behind since I've been cleaning from this past weekends camping trip, getting ready for a yard sale next Fri and Sat, and getting rooms ready for the 2 DSKs who come for the Summer on the 28th... besides that DH will be gone next week for Navy stuff and DD13, DS3 and I will be gone to the West coast for 2 weeks starting on the 14th. :scared1: I just realized how much I actually have to do.

I finally did W1D1 today and did 2.11miles in 28.5 min! I'm good with that. I have also lost 1.5lbs! :cool1:

How soon after starting C25K did you start to see some weight loss? I've been doing it for 2 weeks now and doing some sort of exercise just about everyday and really eating better. I've really cut back on the soda and junk food. I really haven't lost any weight. I've been trying not to weigh myself everyday. I'm starting to think my scale is just weird.

Did W3D2 today. It was a lot easier than yesterday. I think because today there was no humidity and it was only about 67 degrees when I went out. Yesteday it was still 80 and about 90% humidity. :scared1:

I'm on my 2nd week of C25K, but repeating W1. I've cut my portion sizes and only drink water except for a glass of sweet tea with dinner. I did do lots of walking and sweating over the weekend while we were camping. ;) You might not have lost "weight" but I bet you're "feeling" lighter...

Less then a month till registration opens up! :cool1:

I'm starting Week 2 tomorrow of C25k, little nervous about do the 60/60. I really liked week 1 and felt really comfortable with it by the end.

I do have a question for those that have done a Disney marathon, and it may be a stupid question, but do you bring your own camera or is there photopass? If you bring your own, where do you keep it and who takes the pics for you?

Lots of people run with them in their hands. Some have a pouch they run with which will hold the camera. I use my ifitness pouch to hold my clif bloks, room key, $ for massage, etc., and it also has toggles to attach my number, so I don't have to pin it to my shirt. There is photopass, but I don't think they're at every character? I believe there is a handler at every character who will take photos for you. I'm sorry, I never stop for photos so I'm not the best source...I'm sure someone will know!

Finished W2D1 just now and I really had to push myself not to quit about 1/2 way through. But I didn't quit, which just goes to show how much I want to do the Princess and finish it!

What hotel/resort are you all planning/wanting to stay at? We're DVC members and we will have our van, so I'm trying to decide if I want to stay at one resorts with a bus or stay at one of the DVC resorts we've yet to stay at...

Can't run/ walk.... My asthma is officially out of control. Meds were changed yesterday. I have had asthma since I was a baby. My dr said give it a week or two then start running
My asthma is allergy induced not exercise induced. Fun, fun...

:scared1: I hope everything gets under control! I have bad asthma, but ever since we moved to the East coast, it is much easier to keep under control. My is everything based, LOL, everything sets it off. I do take Singular, Claritin and Flonase to keep it and allergies in line.

I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm hoping to run the Princess half in February!!

I did w4d1 this morning. Those 5 minute runs kicked my butt! However, it did make 3 minutes feel a little easier. I really thought I wasn't going to be able to make it the whole way through on the second 5 minute but I made it through. I think part of the problem was I ran this morning after getting the kids off to school and didn't have any water, and it was starting to get hot. But for some screwy reason I almost feel better running in a bit of heat. The last few nights were pretty cool when I ran, which was nice. Maybe I feel like I've accomplished more when the sweat is pouring off me and I feel like I'm about to die. :confused3

Until I was 28 mine was allergy & exercise induced but after I delivered my oldest it wasn't exercised induced anymore. My insurance made me stop taking Singular & Advair and would only pay for generic allergy meds along w/ Proventil Rescue Inhaler so basically for 3 plus years I have suffered. I was sucking down the rescue inhaler & was still waking myself wheezing during the nights. I went to my dr. so he gave me samples while we fight the insurance. So, I'm on an inhaled steroid & Singular. I'm a state employee & our insurance is considered self insured but managed by Humana. Every year I have to prove my kids are actually my kids along w/ their ages & prove my husband does not carry the kids. My husband is employed by a state university under a state contract that my insurance can verify w/o me being involved. So, I have to prove to them & then they double verify themselves. We have fought the insurance for my youngest daughter's asthma meds (Xopenex). The only time she has problems is on the soccer field. Not exercise induced but allergy induced. She is allergic to Bermuda Grass. So, we only have a rescue inhaler for her & then she takes over the counter allergy meds. I'm not bothered when we are in FL on the Atlantic side. When we are at WDW I'm not bothered unless we are at Wilderness Lodge. The pine trees make me feel awful. My oldest is allergic to the pines, too but she does not have asthma.

Fingers crossed I will be up & at 'em soon. :)

Hi all - well, it looks like you can add me to the list of Princess participants - I confirmed everything with DH and it's "all systems go" at this point!

Congratulations to EVERYONE in training right now. :) It's such a wonderful feeling to see an accomplishment of goals. I started running again this past February (after taking 8 years off!), currently logging in 20 miles/week and also added cross-training and strength-training. I cannot believe the transformation in my body, my health, and my attitude. It's definitely been a life-changing experience for me so far. :goodvibes

Right now I am training for my first half, which will be in October at either Columbus/Nationwide Insurance Half or Myrtle Beach Mini in October. I thought Princess was going to be my first half, but I'm going to be ready beforehand and I am just itchin' to do this. :yay:

So excited to register for Princess NEXT MONTH already!!!! :cheer2:

I will say as much as I dislike our insurance (Tricare) at times, we never have to fight with them on what meds we take. And the cost can't be beat! :rotfl:
I've never stayed at Wilderness Lodge, but now that I know there are pines there, I'm not sure I will... :sad1: My family teases me that I should live in a bubble, as I'm allergic to almost anything outside. But as much as the humidity can bother my asthma at times, it really helps with the allergies.
