DisMom Princesses in training for the Princess 1/2

I will actually be in WDW on July 5. Is there a phone number to register over the phone or do I have to take my laptop? I will be registering myself and my daughter. Any special info that I will need? My daughter will not be on this trip with me, she will be housesitting and taking care of our furbabies, Lady Tremaine and Captain Jack.

:offtopic: For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get a ticker to show up in my signature. I know how to make them, but how do I get it to show up as the ticker and not a bunch of mumbo jumbo code stuff?

Ok, now it's there. But I think the count is off compared to what other people's say (unless I put in the wrong date, which is totally possible). Computers are so not my thing.

Last year the Princess didn't fill until much closer to time -- honestly, you can wait until you get home to register. :goodvibes It does get more popular every year, but even Disney's most popular races do not sell out within a month.

Plenty of room for lots and lots of Princesses and Princes!

Really?? Not only is my asthma out of control but my plantar fasciatis (sp? I'm posting from phone) has flared up. I haven't walked/ run or anything in a week. This is ridiculous. Hopefully, some pixie dust comes my way to get rid of both.

Please add me to the list for Princess 1/2 2012. Can't wait to register. My name is Cheryl.

Welcome and I've added you to our list!

Did you put in the date of the actual run or did you put in the day the "marathon weekend" starts? I'm going to put one up as soon as my other trip is done, and use Friday's date... :confused3

Sending :grouphug: and pixiedust: your way!

I haven't really done any running this week. My DH was gone all week, so I was shampooing carpets and cleaning the house like a crazy person... The kids and I leave Tuesday for the West coast for 2 weeks and we're bringing home the other kids (my stepkids). So not only do I have to have things ready for DH to be home alone and for us to be packed, but I've also have to make sure everything is ready for the other kids when we get home. :crazy2:

Thanks for the well wishes. I feel somewhat better. I took the girls to Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN 30 min from us. Lots of hills. No asthma symptoms but icing foot now. It doesn't hurt as bad, today. May try to walk/ run in the a.m.

Now that sounds like a fun outing! I've only seen it on the Travel Channel, but it looks like a blast. I hope your foot is feeling better...it's frustrating when you have an injury!

It is fun. We live 30 min south of it so we have season passes. When I was a kid it was Santa Claus Land. It's super clean & the owners walk the park. The matriarch stands outside & welcomes people. Free soft drinks & sunscreen. It's not WDW but it is nice. My kids are wanting to camp there but we aren't much on camping. They have a phone app & I follow them on FB. It's very family oriented.

I finished week 4 of C25K! I actually signed up for my first 5K. It's this Saturday! I don't plan on running the whole thing. By Saturday I will be up to the 20 minute run of C25K so I plan to do that and then walk the rest. I need something to keep me motivated. Now I am trying to find another 5K for the end of July that I can actually run the whole thing. My shins felt a lot better after today. I took 3 days off and today I really slowed my pace and my stride. I kinda felt like a dork going so slow but I just didn't want to kill my shins.

This morning I did my first 30 minute run using the Jeff Galaway run/walk/run method. I had trouble with my Gymboss interval timer and I wanted to make sure that I walked/ran the entire time. When I walked back into my house, I discovered that I had done an hour not 30 minutes!

Did w5d2 this morning. Bring on the 20 minute run! I think I am actually ready for it. I'm amazed that 5 weeks ago I had to really push to make it through 1 minute of running and this morning 8 minutes was easier than I thought it would be. Saturday I am doing a 5K. I'll do the 20 minute run then. I'm sure I will have to walk part of it, but knowing it is coming up has kept me motivated to keep running. Hopefully I can find a 5K sometime in July and that I will be able to run the whole way. I love the C25K program and look forward to graduating to the Bridge to 10K.

Keep running Princesses!

2 weeks off for asthma & feet I'm back to running. I ran this a.m. It was rough but I like the euphoric feeling afterwards. Back to C25K W1D1.

Glad to hear you are feeling better and back to running. Isn't that feeling afterward great! Why would anyone ever do drugs, just go run for a bit!

I haven't run regularly in about a week. Today I did 3 hard miles, but I'm so glad I did. Tomorrow I'm going for 8, putting me back on track for training for my Half in August. I haven't run far enough to need nutrition since the Princess, I'm actually looking forward to my clif bloks, and my recovery chocolate milk!

One nice thing about when you get used to running longer distances -- you can skip a week here and there and you won't lose your base :thumbsup2

I think everyone is coming along quite nicely! Great job, ladies! :cheer2:

I'm wearing one of my Princess bondibands for encouragement tomorrow. You guys are going to love the merchandise at the Expo! :cloud9:

Icing my foot. Between running this a.m. then took the kids to Holiday World's Splashing Safari a.k.a. water park w/ water shoes. Up & down steps & hills w/o my Brooks. I will run tomorrow again.

C25K week 5-CHECK! 5K-made it the whole way with out dying!! I did walk some at the start but then ran a little early through the warm up and made it the whole 20 minutes, then walked about 3 min, ran about 5 minutes, walkd another 1.5 min and ran it in to the finish line. I did the whole thing in 37:23. I'm pretty happy with that. I was hoping to do it in under 40 minutes. Can't wait for the Princess half. The 5k was a lot of fun. It seemed like everyone in town was runing it or cheering on the runners.

:cheer2: Good job!

I tried doing W3D1 on Thurs of last week while we were in Northern Cali, but I my asthma and allergies were going crazy. I walked for a couple of miles, but I just couldn't catch my breath to run. We're now in Oregon so I'm going to try and get out this evening, but the Cotton Wood trees are blooming so they will make me miserable. I might just have to break out my mom's treadmill to use instead.

Just found this thread. I'm in for the princess half. I've been training for it for a year now. So far completed 6 5k's This Sunday will be my first 10k. I'm hoping to use my time as a corral placement time. I'm up to 8 miles in my training. Working on improving my pace during my 8 mile runs. My goal before the princess half is to be able to consistently do a 15-16 mm pace for 10 miles walk, run or crawl. This is so exciting. Hey Princesses Let's keep motivated. Just think about what we have all ready accomplished. Stride with pride.:cheer2:princess:
