DISMEET 2022? Is Anyone Interested?

Ugh…. as I feared, I will have to bow out of the meet. Within our very small group we bid vacation times based on seniority, and another person has chosen this timeframe. I am bummed, but I know that I will have other opportunities. I hope everyone who does ultimately get to Gettysburg will have a great time! I will, of course, be following the action as o do for all DIS meets, Midwest, mini, or otherwise.

Um, cough, cough, sick, sick, sick, sick, sick.....

I know, it would have to be we settle on a time and it overlaps with taking Lauren to Disney for her 16th birthday request. Sadly I can't clone myself, which is probably a good thing too! So while I will miss out on yet another DisMeet, I will have to do it from a Savannah view suite at AKL. I can think of thousands of worse way to miss out.

The Gettysburg meet was perfect placement…just got knocked out of the dates… something will line up someday….

How much room do you have in your driveway? Asking for a friend LOL
Room I got… hill not so good…

Look… what a great place we have to park in yard!

Look… what a lousy steep hill with sharp dip at bottom I have to get past by building a ramp each time up and back (and while this is the finished ramp, I actually have to build and take apart different parts of it a bit at a time as I go up or come down… so I put a few boards out… drive onto it… add or subtract depending on which way I am going, move a few more feet, and then finish and remove…20 -25 mins only, but still a pain each time to get in or out)

Gotta do what I have to do overcome the problem (first time home with this trailer pictured below… stopped here to see what would need to be done. My last trailer was shorter but had a similar issue… that one required removing the rear stabilizers which were almost directly below the bumper so that they would clear the driveway… this one needs altitude of wood ramps to clear the bumper/frame.

Here is original trailer after getting home for first time with it in 2014… this was before I knew I would have this kind of problem (but fortunately figured out removing stabilizers was all I needed to do… so always put them back on at campground and took them off before leaving for home, but did not need the boards with this one..

Those little pavers are cute. Joe and I can help pack those in for you. The coach is a little under 32,000 lbs. :)

And I'm sure we will drag enough to help smooth out the hill and dip in the drive.

😁 Probably worth a shot now before I get it repaved.

We have to go into the maybe category attending this year. Last year in Pigeon Forge , Lucille came to the realization that she HAD to see a Dr about her knee. Our Dr gave her the option of Cortisone injections. That helped for about 2 weeks. He referred her to a local Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Specialist. While not his 1st choice she elected to try Steroid shot. That lasted till we arrived at Disney in Dec. April 15th she had Full Knee replacement Surgery.
Granted we are only a week from surgery but this is going to be a very long recovery. Longer than I anticipated as during the 6 to 7 years she has been experiencing problems she has deconditioned to the point that she needs major assistance with everything now. Hopefully with PT she will recover over time but for now it is a wait and see.

Hope she gets better soon. Good news is they push you hard these days to recover faster, bad news is they push you hard to recover faster. Praying for a easy, quicker recovery.

Problem is during 4 days a week she has things she is supposed to do all I hear is I'm in too much pain or my favorite I can't. When I remind her what it was like pre op I get the The LOOK.

Wishing DW a speedy recovery. Frank's first 2 months were rough after his replacement. It's all downhill from there.
