Discovering DVC timandlesley style-A PTR, 19 days TRIP REPORT LINK PG.119!!!!!

YEAH!!!! One week baby!!!:yay: Too funny that we will both be at Sci Fi on Father's Day (different meals though) Hey, maybe we will bump into you guys!:thumbsup2 We are so excited to try TSM for the first time!! Looking forward to seeing the packing progress!:goodvibes
I know, too funny! If you guys will be there the whole day we just might run into you! I'll update our packing pics later today.
Lesley

:cool1::goodvibes:banana: I'm so excited for you all!! We didn't get to do DHS on our last trip, so give out an extra scream for us on Tower of Terror! Love the "this time next week" updates - doesn't it feel GREAT to say that?
Thanks for sharing in our excitement, yes it feels GREAT doing the "this time next weeks" : )

Love the "This time next week updates"
Thanks : ) Glad you enjoy them.
One week!!!!! :woohoo: It's crazy how fast the time flew by! I'm so excited for you guys and can't wait to read all about the trip (although I hope those two weeks go by very slowly for you Your new room looks gorgeous, btw!
I know, it is crazy, but I'm sure glad it's here!!!!

And you KNOW you've been in Disney A LOT when you can post pictures for things that have not yet happened this time around!!

That was awesome! Are you really planning to do one of these every day?!?! I hope so... that was so much fun!
I know, funny huh! I could go back years, but just limited it to this past years trip. Luke looks like a vampire without his front teeth : ) Yes, I'll do one every day for a few days now, probably at least through Friday : )
Lesley

We are exactly a week behind you so I love seeing your "this time next week pics" It will make next week go by fast for me!! :cool1:
So glad you are enjoying them, glad I can try and help your week fly by ; )

I love all of your "this time next week" pictures. I'm so jealous of your first welcome home from DVC. That's awesome. I'm sure you're going to love AKL!
Glad you enjoy them. Can't wait to see AKL for the first time!
Sounds like it will be a fabulous first day.:thumbsup2
I think so too ; )
Tim and Lesley, we just got back and you are going to absolutely LOVE AKL!!! I cried when I left -- I think I could have easily lived in my pool view room at AKL forever! I can't remember -- are you staying at Jambo or Kidani?
OH WOW! So you loved it! I think I'm going to have a hard time switching from AKL to SSR mid way through the trip. We are at Jambo, is that where you were? How was the bussing?
Lesley

I loved the this time next week pictures, they made me want to leave for Disney today instead of waiting to Sept.
Glad you are enjoying them, thanks for posting. Sept. will be here before you know it : )
Love your "this time next week" post. We're flying in on Sunday too, but too late to hit a park. Our plans are to hit DTD and make a treat at Goofy's to hopefully eat on all week.

Can't wait to see more.
If you see us be sure to say hi!!! Ohhhh I love Goofy's!!!
Lesley

OH WOW! So you loved it! I think I'm going to have a hard time switching from AKL to SSR mid way through the trip. We are at Jambo, is that where you were? How was the bussing?
Lesley

We were at Jambo. Loved, loved, loved it! Go do the night vision at night one night, trade pins with King Pin one afternoon at the gift shop, listen to the folktales one night at the fire pit, do ceramics one afternoon at Simba's. The bartenders are awesome at the pool bar, and the food is delicious at the Mara and Boma. One word of advice -- pack bug spray -- the mosquitos are crazy at night. It was all so awesome!

The buses were fantastic, but the bus ride to MK feels like forever! It's not really, but since the bus rides to the other parks are so much shorter -- it feels much longer.

So, today we went to church and it is now raining so I figured what better thing to do before we go to my mom's for my b-day dinner but upload pics for you guys : ):thumbsup2:goodvibes
I decided to go ahead and give the DVC online check in system a whirl for our AKL portion of our stay since I didn't have a room request with it (I've heard it cancels out previous room requests, but we don't have any so no harm no foul). It went smoothly and we should be set to go.:)
Tomorrow I will go online to order our 2 cases of Costco water.
Here are the promised packing progress pictures:
Here is Tim's suitcase (he says his is ready to go), mine is next to his still open because I have some more laundry to do and items to add into my suitcase still:
packingpics006Small.jpg

Here is the beloved snack/juice box bag. As you can see it is JAMMED packed with Welch's juices, juice boxes, baked cheeto's/baked dorritos (trying to have SOME healthy snack alternatives for the kids while we're away), fruit chewies, poncho's, sunscreen, tide to go pens, bandaids, medicines, extra anti bacterials wipes, etc.
packingpics004Small.jpg

I put it on our bathroom scale because it is BY FAR the heaviest and from what I can tell it is around 45 pounds. I figure worse case scenerio if it goes over we can shift some of it's contents into another suitcase.
Here is Luke's suitcase:
packingpics005Small.jpg

Luckily he has a lot of extra room (even with his huge stuffed Pluto inside) so I put two gallon sized baggies of our toiletries (shampoo, mousse, etc.) inside of his bag. I wanted to be sure put those in bags so if they leaked he wouldn't have yucky clothes.
Here is Lauren's bag:
packingpics001Small.jpg

She still has more clothes (that are dirty currently) to be added. That huge thing on top is the new Cinderella dress we got her on clearance at Disney Shopping.com (great deal!) it is such a pretty dress but boy does it take up a lot of room in her suitcase:
packingpics001Small.jpg

Then come all the carry on's. I had to put a lot of thought into how I wanted to handle this. We're staying a night in Indy the night before so we need stuff for the hotel and then for the next day which will be our first day in the parks. So the kids have a carry on with one nights/days essentials (including swimsuits incase our luggage is delayed):
packingpics007Small.jpg

And Tim and I have the same (I still need to add big stuff like my hair dryer, flat iron, defuser, etc. to this one):
packingpics002Small.jpg

As you can see each of these has a quart size baggie (per airline rules) with toiletries such as hairspray, mousse, lotion, mouth wash, shampoo, toothpaste - all travel size of course)
Then there are our two backpacks. Here are my thoughts on these. The Tinkerbell one is loaded with snacks and activitity books for the plan for the kids and the CARS backpack will have the park stuff that we'll keep in the stroller like spray fans, autograph books, throw away poncho's:
packingpics003Small.jpg

So that's it in a nutshell. Not too shabby huh? :confused3
Now I should probably be worried because Lauren (who has been complaining of a sore throat) is STILL napping after 2 1/2 hours (and she NEVER naps anymore), AUGH, hope she isn't getting sick, that WOULD figure, wouldn't it:headache:
Lesley

Lesley,
Great organization on the packing! I have learned a valuable lesson about not packing stuff for an unexpected overnight stay in our carry ons.....
You are super prepared!
Can't wait to see Lauren in that Cinderella dress!
Anita

Love your this time next week pics :goodvibes

Good job packing.......very organized :thumbsup2

WEll if she still complaing of sore throat, would get Lauren to doctor tomorrow.,

She has plenty of time to feel better..:goodvibes

Wow. You are organized! I hope Lauren isn't sick! But better to find out now with time to get on medicine and get better than to come down with it in Disney!

/
Great job on the packing!!! I spent most of the day doing the same! OH NO...I hope Lauren isn't getting sick! if she is though better now then once you get there!!!:thumbsup2 Have a GREAT birthday dinner at your parents house!!:goodvibes

I just noticed you said you were going to your mom for bday dinner

Is today your birthday?

If so or even if not,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

party::bday:party:

LOVE the preview pics; can't wait for more!

Make sure you get Lauren to the doctor's right away! Don't want to take a chance that something will get passed around the house, since people are so concerned about illnesses turning into flu right now.

:banana::banana: I am so excited for you and your family, looks like you have everything under control and so very organized!!!! Tim must be just as excited as the kids.. My husband tries to be cool as a cucumber:rolleyes: before we leave but really he is bursting at the seams:woohoo:!!!! It really is the most magical place on earth.. just the other day my 6 year old said "Mommy, you know why I love Disney so much, because anything can happen there that can not happen anywhere else.. it is the most magical place ever!!!" :wizard:So true....

You're way ahead of me. I got the cases down but didn't make much headway in the packing department. I did spend hours running around picking up stuff so I shouldn't have to do that on Saturday. Hopefully we'll get a little packed each night.

I hope Lauren is okay. No one likes to be sick at Disney. Danielle fell tonight while dancing around the living room , thoughts of sprained ankles flashed before my eyes. I would just like to coat her in cotton right now.

Happy Birthday!!!:cake::bday:party:

Oh Lesley, I am so jealous! We aren't going to disney this year, I am in the planning stages for a trip next year. It sounds like you will have an amazing trip. The longest we have been there is 10 days! You will love AKL. It is my favorite by far! My kids love it too. Just imagine sitting on your balcony next week while the kids are sleeping and watching the animals settle in for the night. We had a giraffe that slept outside of our balcony last year. It was so cool!

Have a great trip!

I finally caught up. I'm so excited for you guys:banana:. Your bedroom looks great and I'm really enjoying the this time next week updates. Keep them coming. I hope Lauren is feeling better today.
I hope you had a wonderful Birthday:cheer2:.

Great job with the packing :thumbsup2 Aw, that parts the best! It's when you know the trip's finally here, and you still have all that anticipation and your entire trip to look forward to

I hope Lauren feels better soon!

:dance3: Happy Birthday Leslie!!! :dance3:

Great job packing! You are so organized!

Your bedroom is awesome! The wait was worth it huh?

Thank you guys soooooo much for all of the awesome birthday wishes, well wishes for Lauren, well trip wishes, etc. You guys rock!!!! I don't have time to reply to each of you individually today (since it's my birthday and the day is jam packed) but I appreciate and read them all, thank you!
I was showered with gifts from Tim and the kids this morning, and Tim cooked me an awesome breakfast. I have to go to the drivers lisence bureu today (oh joy) because my lisence expired today and so did the tags on our car. Then one of my gifts was a pedicure gift certificate and an appointment, YEAH! So I will be doing that this afternoon and then having lunch with my parents and dinner with the four of us (Japanese- YUM!).
So........... what will we be doing this time next week???:confused3
THIS TIME NEXT WEEK we will get to walk the empty streets of Main Street before Magic Kingdom opens to have breakfast at Crystal Palace:
DSC00898Small.jpg

Then we'll head into Walt Disney's magical kingdom and enjoy some awesome rides together. I'm sure Splash Mountain (my favorite) will be amung them:
DSC00943Small.jpg

Philarmagic action for SURE!:
DSC00936Small.jpg

We'll enjoy a yummy lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern (I can already taste the yummy pot roast and ooey gooey toffee cake)
Then after a fun filled Magic Kingdom morning we'll head back to the hotel for a swim and some relaxation at AKL (Ahhhhhhhhhh), take showers and get freshened up for an Epcot evening.
DSC00683Small.jpg

We'll have dinner at Tepan Edu - YUM! And then of course catch Illuminations:
