I think that the $49.00 rate sounds great, however my family of 5 can not be accomodated there. Does anyone know of any other discounts that we might be able to get. I have found the Holiday Inn family Suites for $86, the Embassy Suites $99 and the Caribe Royale for $124. If I found a great deal for an onsite resort we would do that. We will be going the first 2 weeks in Dec. 2001, for 10 days. What is the weather like then. Any other discounts for shows, parks etc. It always takes me so long to plan a trip because I have to make sure that I am not paying too much. I used priceline in Disneyland, but I was a little worried about trying it down there. Any advice we be wonderful.

Thank you!!!!!!!! :(

The moderates are also included in this "special" their price is $89 or $98 with tax. I'm not sure about all moderates, but I know the AB section of the former "Dixie Landings" can hold 5 people. I'd call CRO right away and try to get this rate at "Dixie Landings." Good luck!

wmackleit-How about 2 rooms at the All Stars, you would still be paying less than Caribe Royal and same as Embassy. If you do not have a car, you would be on-site with better transportation. 2 bathrooms, showers, etc. Get a connecting room and keep the door between the 2 open. Just a thought.

I'd check into the five in Port Orleans Riverside (formerly Dixie Landings) There are no connecting doors at All Stars.

Where is everyone getting all this information on these discounts? I would love to get a room at DXL for one night 12/01/01 for $89. How can I do this? I have an annual pass and am a DC member. Do either one of these help me to obtain the discount? Please advise, any help will be greatly appreciated.

I believe the special rate they are talking about is only available 8/9-10/3 and doesn't require an AP or DC membership. They learned about it right here on the boards, someone called to make a ressie and was offered this "special rate" and they then posted it on the boards for others to take advantage of. AP discounts usually aren't announced for a certain month until a couple months before and they could be 40-50% off rack rate. The DC rate for 12/1 at moderates is 20% off rack rate. Just keep watching the boards or calling CRO and asking if there are any special rates being offered during the time you'll be there. Hope this helps. ~ :) ~

for reservation 7/27 - 8/6 at DxL (PO - Riverside) - got standard view room for $149, but was told to call back first of April as AP rates might be out by then. Anyone know of any "legal" non-restricted discounts that I should ask for? Was fortunate enough to get MKC discount in December for DxL for $99/nite - while I don't anticipate a repeat of that great rate, any savings would be appreciated!!

Hi DisneyMom, I just got a rate of $114.56 including tax for one night, Dec. 1, 2001. I got this with my DC discount. I thought this was pretty good. Maybe you can do the same.

I asked about annual pass holder discount but I was told they are not available yet for the time I need. I have to check back later.

I know there are alot of people who would like to know where you found the rate of $86 for HIFS, that sounds like a really great rate. I got HIFS for Sept at $83 a night, but I booked it back in November and it has cancelation penilities. Since then, the price has gone up on the same site to $108 a night for the same time period.

I would give serious thought to staying at HIFS. It is a great hotel and has many benifites that Disney doesn't have (breakfast, karoke, bingo, kids eat free in the restaurant, the train that rides around the hotel for the small kids, the 2 bedroom kidsuites, with fridge, microwave etc...) In my opion HIFS is the best deal, I would grab it and run at $86 a night. You'll have fun no matter what you do

HIFS & Sheraton World Feb 2001
HIFS & AS Movies Sept/Oct 2001

I found it at floridaherewecome.com. Has anyone used this site?

Thanks for all your help. This is our first trip and I am so excited!! :)

I would definitely consider the HIFS. I drove by them last week on my trip and they looked very nice and the location is excellent. As for the weather, I haven't been to Orlando in December but I've been to Eastern Washington and I think what ever you find in Florida will be a big improvement. I've stayed on-site and off and although I enjoyed being on-site after the cross country trip I think you will enjoy the extra room in a suite especially at that rate.
