TheI am kind of over having multiple contracts even if within the same use year, so I was considering selling CCV 100 and buying 150-175 elsewhere.
Should I slow my roll and just wait to see how I like my trip in August at Wilderness Lodge?
Should I go with my heart and go for it with BWV?
Should I make the best financial choice in BLT since it is walkable to MK and that is huge for us.
Should I just keep CCV, book what I can at BW at 7 months and pony up for Minnie Vans to MK?
Is there is a resort thats a good compromise you think Id love and should consider over BW or BLT?
With all that said I am needing to plan a trip in a 2 bedroom for Feb 2026 so if Im buying BLT/BWV I would like to hopefully get in before 7 months hits.
Never heard of this. We bought 300 Riviera points direct back in February of 2024 and I think by October, had reservations for most of them! If it was an option in later years, that'd be nice! lolMB = Magical Beginnings. If you buy 150+ direct points at an Active resort you can sell back your first year's points for $20/pt and get a check from Mickey a few weeks after closing. Doesn't apply to "sold out" resorts even if they're still selling and doesn't work on resale, of course.
If you needed the points then no need to do MB. Would be great if they had this options later on in ownership.Never heard of this. Yea, we used them. I doubt knowing about MB would have changed our plans any. If we add another home resort, i might do it in the future since we will have other points to use and by then, the newness of DVC will have worn off.If you needed the points then no need to do MB. Congratulations! We are officially under contract at Boardwalk![]()
Woo hoo! Details please! We are officially under contract at Boardwalk![]()

So weird! I hope you get more info on this!In this instance I guess DVC made an exception for the member regarding the banked points and that made them ineligible for transfer.![]()
Interesting… new one to me that some points can’t be transferred. Could it be that maybe they are already transferred from another membership (although why anyone would do that before selling I don’t know).Twas an interesting negotiation, took 6 days to actually go to contract. I learned that not all points in a members account are eligible to be transferred to the new owner when sold. In this instance I guess DVC made an exception for the member regarding the banked points and that made them ineligible for transfer.
As soon as they submit to ROFR Im going to post it, dont want to jinx myself! Interesting tidbit bit on that too! In all my previous purchases I never posted until going to ROFR and I never changed my signature until closing out fear of jinxing myself (Im a weird one). This time I was sitting around at my sons 2 hour practice, I had gotten all caught up here on the DIS and had nothing to do so I went over and created my ROFR string. I had a momentary don't jinx yourself thought and was like "eh it will be fine". So I created it and saved it to my notes. Lo and behold I jinxed myself! The next day I found out it would have less points due to all the points not being eligible for transfer.
I wish. Cant say I didnt try though.Interesting… new one to me that some points can’t be transferred. Could it be that maybe they are already transferred from another membership (although why anyone would do that before selling I don’t know).
Look forward to seeing the details and how much of a bargain you got… knowing you it will be like $50 pp.

Do you happen to know if you got an exception for the banking points if that would make those ineligible?Transferred points can not be transferred during a sale because they have already been transferred into that membership.
And so, transferring them out during sale would count as two transfers in the same UY because the UY of the points determines which UY it counts as
For example, one one get 2025 UY points it counts as your in or out of 2025 points
If one is selling, to move them you’d be moving out 2025 UY points, which would be considered more than one.
This is what I thought the issue was, too.Transferred points can not be transferred during a sale because they have already been transferred into that membership.

With the new transfer rules allowing banking/borrowing transferred points and allowing transferring of banked/borrowed points, could that now allow you to technically transfer out points that were previously transferred in?Transferred points can not be transferred during a sale because they have already been transferred into that membership.

It’s possible that this was the case. It’s the daughter communicating with the broker on behalf of her mother so likely a miscommunication somewhere as to specifically why they were ineligible.I think I’d ask what type of exception. If they just allowed them a late banking exception, that should not make point ineligible.
If they were transferred points that they banked, that would make them ineligible.
If the owners had banked points and DVC gave them an exception to move them another year, they wouldn’t be transferrable because the points would not be the owners actual points.
DVC would have given them their own points. It’s how they did it during Covid when people last banked points due to the closure…

What if you transfer in points right now from somewhere as 2025 points using up your 1 2025 use year transfer.
Now bank those points into your 2026 use year and transfer them out/transfer them to the new owner when selling as your 1 2026 use year transfer.
Wouldn't that technically work now?
