Curious - is it the same price for both adults and kids? I haven't bought AP's in over a year... I thought kids were discounted?

I think they stopped discounting kids AP/PAP just this year (the last price hike).

So we bought reg APs before the price increase. Can we not use them aslong as we want? Do they expire ever? Im thinking of getting two sets for us. use one set this oct and when we go back next oct and activate the second. Would that work? Am I thinking this through right?

regular AP vouchers/confirmation# for will call don't expire they'll wait for you to activate them.

You are still buying a NEW PAP but you can upgrade from a current MYW ticket. As long as you do it in the alloted time frame. This is how the normal upgrades work and Cheshire Figment said "normal upgrade rules apply". You CANNOT however upgrade an existing AP into the special priced PAP - as several people have been reporting after speaking to member services.

The normal procedure at a window is that if they ticket you are upgrading to costs less than the ticket that you have, we will not give a refund.

If you currently have a will-call for a DVC regular or premium AP I would suggest calling Member Services and see if they can do something for you. Note the adjustment for purchase, if any, can only be done between October 1 and December 31 this year.

I don't know if Member Services will be able to do this.

If I go in December for free dining, can I use the tickets I get with it towards buying the premier AP? I would not use them this trip but buy the voucher and have first use next year.

If you want to apply the tickets to the PAP you'd have to do it at guest services and it'd start the clock ticking then. I have unused MYW tix on hand too but told if i want to use them for my next trip, that's when the PAP would start.

i'm waiting to hear if I can 'upgrade' my existing AP confirmation on 10/1.

Our AP's expire in October. We do not have another trip planned till July. Can I renew and get the PAP and not activate it till July 2013? Will it be good till July 2014????

Does anyone know if this discount also applied to the Premier Passport? We are going to WDW at end of November and we are also planning a trip to DL next September so we were wondering if we could somehow get this deal and get the Premier passport?

We currently have purchased 8 day hoppers to WDW for our trip this year and we could hold these for a future trip if we can get a good deal on the Premier pass.

This is probably all a moot discussion anyway as my bet would be that the real test here is will they make enough DVC'ers purchase PAPs that aren't purchasing them NOW to justify continuing it indefinately.

If this bumps sales by XX% by MMMDD, there's already an agreement in place with Parks to extend indefinately. Wanna bet?

If it goes well, and though the DIS is certainly no normal barometer; and it sure looks like it's selling itself very well so far, this thing won't end on Dec 31.

I suspect that it'll be a one-time thing, with several goals:

1) Inflow of cash into Q4, from many people who wouldn't have bought APs this soon.
2) Increasing the attendance at WDW (which they don't need to do at DLR).
3) Increasing the attendance at the waterparks and DQ.
4) Getting DVC members who aren't familiar with the waterparks and DQ, and/or who haven't bought APs to give it all a try.

My suspicion is that they'll see positive results on all counts, but that they won't do it again (or at least not as good of a deal). The Mouse likes to get us hooked with great deals, then bump up prices and reduce benefits. (Look at what they did with the dining plan and "free dining".)

We will buy the PAP at $399, but I would not pay any more for it than that.

If the price goes up any more, back to non-exp one day at a time visits.

Yep, never taken the time to do water parks and never had APs. Now we're rearranging our vacation schedules to make the most of these new tickets. They sure hooked us!

The $399 price is for both adults and children. There is no longer a price difference between adults and childs passes.

A new DVC AP is $425 plus tax (for adults & children).

A regular AP only includes access to the four major Theme Parks.

We had just ordered DVC AP's and received our vouchers in the mail. I called Member Services yesterday and was told we could not upgrade them to the PAP's. It was suggested we purchase the PAP's and save the AP's we had purchased to use next year.

The reason given was because we had paid more for the AP's than the PAP's were going for. (As stated before...you can't go from more to less)

But I'm not certain if there's a time limit on our DVC AP vouchers as far as activating them. Does anyone know?

I purchased regular ten day tix with park hopper last week, did not plan on returning next year. When this new deal came out we decided to change plans and go again next year. Already spoke with DVC who said yes, we can upgrade once we arrive at the parks. Do we need to use one day of ticket before upgrading or can I simply walk to guest relations on arrival day and upgrade?

I think the target audience is a bit broader than just those who haven't tried them. I started doing the APs every other year a few years back.
It's been years since we bothered with the price and downtime it takes to do the waterparks and DQ. Not saying we don't like them, we love them! They're just very expensive and take up at least a half of a day.

This last trip I played with upgrading DS's AP to a PAP and allowing him to do the other activities as he wanted, but he never seemed interested in the waterparks or DQ. We were there for 10 days and all he wanted to do was hit the thrill rides and eat. Next summer he'll be 16. I have no clue if he'll be interested in these other activities or not, but it's less than the AP and it'll be there if he does want to try it - and he'll have a friend with him.

With one exception, there is no expiration date on AP Vouchers. Vouchers for the upcoming $399 DVC PAP promotion must be purchased by 12/31/2012 and activated by 12/31/2013.

Disney does not include tax in the price of their tickets, so you always have to add 6.5% sales tax. Except in CA where the State doesn't tax theme park tickets.

Since they say we save $300 , it means that they are comparing to $699 price wich is without taxes, so the price has to be $399 plus tax.
