In my experience (which is limited to pj pants) pants are pretty easy as long as you flip them the right way when you are sewing them. Were you making a jumper top with pants?
What about a t- shirt dress I here those are pretty easy and quick!!

Heyy everyone! I've been lurking this thread for a while now, and i am in awe of everyone's talent. I got a sewing machine last week, and have already become addicted to sewing. I don't have kids (i'm only 17) but i will probably end up making a bunch of stuff for my little cousins.

Here's what i've made so far, though they're not finished.

A dress for me (its a size or two too big, and I still need to finish it lol but i guess I can wear it to the pool)

And a skirt for my little cousin. I need to hem the bottom (and trim some threads), and make the top which is going to be out of a strawberry shortcake panel, i think. The green top was for picture purposes.

WOW, what a great job and you have only had your machine for a week?!?! You are far ahead of me. and i have had mine for three years!! haha

I have Simplicity sewing patterns for dummies (hehe) 4206 it had pants, a peasant style top and a twirly skirt.

I think that with the T dress I would use different fabric. I could make it with some Tinkerbell fabric for tomorrow. then just make a stripwork skirt with her pirate fabric for her party on Sunday.

I did a surprise Giselle for my daughter also. We used the same picture. I think using the face transfer was very clever. I am really unhappy with the black eyeliner. I will do thing differently next time!!!!

You know to us that sounds like a great idea- But if your were to say that to lets say the cashier or maybe your husband- I think you would sort get a blank stare and then "what do you mean you're going to cut up sheets and make a dress?"

LOL When my first daughter was born I searched and searched for the perfect christening dress. I never found it. So my mom said she would make one for me. Then I couldn't find the kind of fabric I wanted. One day I was at Bed Bath and Beyond and saw a shower curtain that was perfect! It was sheer with tiny flowers embroidered on it. So my daughter's christening gown was actually a shower curtain.

A few years later she went to a Wiggles concert in a dress made from Wiggles bed sheets.

I've had a very bad morning. It looks like our poor dog, Pierre, is going to have to find another home. The girl I got him from (last week) said that he was great with kids (including her 1 year old niece). Well, he hasn't been real great with our kids. He was growling at Sawyer a lot. But, I just kept Sawyer away in hopes that he would get more comfortable with us. This morning, Pierre was sitting next to me when Sawyer came over and reached to pet him on the back. Pierre bit him right on the face, with no warning growl or anything! It's not a bad bite, but he has a purple mark on his eyelid. I have been doing a lot of crying because I now realize we're not going to be able to keep him. I've already contacted the local SPCA. They said to bring him in on Friday so they can meet him. Then, they will decide if they will look for a foster home for him. So, I don't know how long it will be before they actually take him. They asked me if he was up to date on his shots. I took him to the vet last Monday and got all of his shots, but he needs booster shots in 3 weeks. I also had him scheduled to be neutered on the 20th of this month. Anyway, the SPCA said they won't take him unless I make a "donation" to cover these vet expenses. Don't they generally ask for a donation from the people adopting the pet to cover these expenses?

Anyway, I'm pretty upset today. I feel so guilty about everything. I feel guilty that poor Pierre has to go to yet another home and I feel guilty that I brought a dog into our house that hurt my baby. I really thought I did everything right- asking he right questions, etc...

I am so sorry to hear about this You know i have a similar situation with my Cocker Spaniel and Mayson she nipped at him twice and one time cut above his eye open when i was holding him, she got really protective and jealous.
so i went and tied a ribbon around her muzzle and let mayson do whatever he wanted to her (which was mostly pet and touch her eyes ect.. well after a lil bit i would sit with her and mayson and let him pet her she would growl at him but she never bit him . i did this every night but without my Muzzle. she still will growls at him but Licks him at the same time (it almost sounds like she is a motor in the cold just starting) now it has been a yr and they are the best of friends she knows not to bite him and just walk away ,
i could not give her up because i waited for her for so long and i can understand your pain, That is your baby , i knew that if Daizie could not work things out with Mayson i would have to give her up but luckily it did .. hope all works out for you...

Just an FYI...

M_I_C_K_E_Y on the creative designs thread has apparently been contacted by a Disney Representive and told that she is in violation of copyright infringement for the designs that she has been making. It doesn't appear that any of the other designers have been contacted at this time. She will no longer be designing and many of the other designers are following suit. Any of you selling custom Disney creations on EBAY or otherwise may also be at risk. We, on the creative designs forum, had always been under the understanding that as long as we were not profiting from our designs that we were not breaking any laws. Since I have no idea what the specifics of the phone call was to the designer I don't know what angle Disney is taking. I sincerely hope that this is just a fluke as I so enjoy all the Disney creations here and on the design forum that this does not become an issue. I know that most of us primarily make items for our own family and our own use. I hope that protects us, but I'm truly confused now. If any has any further information please let us know.

Sorry to get so off-topic with the dog conversation. I know we have a "no apologizing" rule, but I know it gets annoying for some to have all the chattyness on here. Anyway, I have some good news. Henry's grandma wants to meet Pierre and if all goes well, she said she'd take him in. I'm so happy about that because we'd still get to see him (but not Sawyer!!) and I know she'd spoil him rotten.

I asked Jayden about the kiss-blowing and she quite confidently replied "oh yes, that was Joe!" I said "was it the guy in the purple shirt?" and she said "I think so". okay i am all caught up!
Mayson broke his crib so we had to buy him a toddler bed so i have been downstairs 5 times putting him back in it I tried to convince DH just to buy a crib that turns into a bed but we are done having kids so that was a big fat NO !! i am hitting the bed now because he is asleep at almost quarter to 1 i have to go register Camden for Kindergarten later today my kids are growing up to fast...

I like the look of complete embroidered face but since I have basically no clue what I am doing I wasn't even going to attempt it. I created a pic of Giselle the size I wanted to make the piecing, printed it and did the piecing. Then in my photo program I took the same picture and erased everything but the face. Made it a mirror image and printed it on transfer paper. It doesn't look as good but it was much easier.

That is very clever of you to do that!

Everyone's outfits looks so great!!!


Here are their Epcot out fits. A very nice lady from here let me buy some fabric from her. I made these 2 days before we left so I didn't have time to applique so I just made iron-ons for the tops, then sewed a ribbon bow on them.

The entire time we were sewing these my mom complained about how ugly these were yet we couldn't get more than 5 feet without someone asking us about them or me hearing a comment about them. When dh was alone on Everest someone even said, "Aren't you the dad of the girls with the stripped animal dresses"? I even caught a few people taking pictures of them. LOL
