Yikes! So, I'm trying to play catch-up here! Lots of things posted here. . .

So, as I was skimming I saw someone posted a vintage minnie! Sorry I didn't quote you - I had to lose the quotes because I had entirely too many!

Anyway, in light of recent things, I'd like to share my vintage minnie - I had originally held it back from posting here and I did put it on :wizard: a while back. But I'm hoping that people don't stop sharing their wonderful creations, so I know I'm going to continue sharing mine. I may put it up on :wizard: again sometime, but for now, it's hanging nicely in Ella's closet.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun making this one:

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday night - I'm headed to work :sad1: Hey, at least it's holiday pay, right? That's what I'm telling myself anyway. That and I have 9 days off after tonight! Famous last words. . . .

Here are a few pictures of some of the customs that Jenna wore on our trip.
This is Jenna with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare. Cinderella sat on the floor and pulled Jenna to sit in her lap. You can tell how excited she was by the expression on her face. They chatted for awhile this way. We were getting some jealousy stares, but oh well. I didn't ask her to do it.

This is Jenna with the Step-sisters. They too made a big fuss over Jenna's dress.

And this is Jenna as a pretty pirate. She is not mad in this pic. That is her pirate face :lmao: .

OMG I LOVE that!! Ella looks adorable!

I do love this dress!!!

I was thinking of doing the lace over a blue ruffle. I love your irridescent material- not sure mine has all the colors when the light hits it.
I did look in the by the yard section- but only saw white- single row of sequins- is that what you used-the single row? Where did you put the trim? Just on the bottom edge with the ruffle?
I have to say this is not the best pattern- since it's 4 in 1 and they combine 3 of the gowns, so it seems a bit bogged down to read thru. Maybe I should go thru and highlight all the cinderella instructions first.
Do you think the rainbow sheer will look silly??
DDs measurements are sort of about a 1...
19" chest, about 18" waist- belly is bigger than waist or chest, and she is 33" tall....

I am sure the lace would be pretty. I am just not "into" lace, so I skipped it and added a ruffle. I remember feeling the same way about my iridescent materiel. I just took my chances and it turned out great. I think the rainbow fabric is pretty. I guess it depends what you are going for. I wanted more of an "authentic" Cinderella, so I went with the blue.

Pattern sizing is so crazy. I have made Katie dresses in size 2, 3 and in the Minnie dress from the new look I made her a 0 :confused3. I just go by the measurements. Katie was just shy of measuring a 2 and the dress fit great. I really think she will be able to be Cinderella for Halloween. As for the length, it is not really as long as it seems. Katie has her hip popped out and she is leaning. This is her I have attitude pose. :goodvibes

I highly recommend highlighting all of the instructions for your dress. It does make it a lot less confusing. Once you get going, it really does go together pretty well. I was intimidated reading it. I even called a friend who is a great seamstress and told her "I think they just put easy on every pattern so people will buy them". I made it through and I really think you will also.

OMGosh!! This is kind of what I have in mind. I've been looking for large polka dot fabric for a couple months and broke down and got the minnie dot. I was thinking of just doing an applique hat on the shirt with the flower. Or have a clipart type Minnie applique on the shirt. Thanks so much for sharing.

I found it at Walmart it was on clearance a tye blanket kit for 6 bucks! I have been looking everywhere for more. Shannon did you buy them all around here and not tell me. He does love it. Snuggles up with it every night now. :goodvibes

What an awesome find Callie!

I also have to ask a favor. My husband's grandfather has been in the hospital since Monday. He's in his 80's and all of the sudden got hit by a virus or something. He was fine at 10am, by 3pm Monday he was completely different. Anyway, by tuesday he had "hospital psychosis" (i think that's what my hubbie calls it). Basically, he doesn't know where or when he is. He's reliving every decade and having full conversations w/ people he hasn't seen in 40 years. They also haven't figured out what afflicted him in the first place. So good thoughts/vibes/prayers would be much appreciated... that they find out what is wrong, that he gets his bearings back, that he's not in pain. I'm not picky. I just don't want him to suffer. and now I have to stop before I start crying and wake Scott up. Good night all. Happy Sunday!

Aww, I will say a prayer for him!!!

Tessa had a bit of "stranger anxiety" during the wedding. Here's what her face looked like throughout the ceremony. She kept holding her arms out to me. So, I finally just waved for her to come and sit on my lap, where she proceeded to cry. The poor thing. But, first I snapped a picture of her face because I'm mean.

Here's my little flower boy. He felt it was his job to go and pick up all of the flower petals and put them back in the basket after the wedding. He likes things to be in order!
5-24-08flowerboy.jpg

Aww they all looked adorable. Sorry to see Tessa looking so sad. Sawyer is just a little handsome fella!!! So cute, all of them!

Hmmm I have had a similar experience too... luckily it wasnt the walls though....

Jenna as Minnie Mouse.
S2010191.jpg

And this on is Jenna dancing with Prince Charming. Cinderella told him to go pick Jenna to dance. She was smiling ear to ear. I hate that the pic came out so dark. I had some major tears in my eyes when he grabbed her by the hand.
S2010178.jpg

Awwww - thanks guys! I had this idea in my head forever, looking for some sort of blue minnie dot fabric - I never found any, so I did things the hard way, LOL, I appliqued all of those dots. Yes, I am insane! :rotfl2:

OK, now I'm really going to work!

I did the same thing when I went out of town in the beginning of May. Once I left and was busy I didn't cry but I did miss them a lot. I hope you have a good trip.

I decided to make a princess outfit for Giuliana to wear in case her princess dress gets too hot. I just cut 8 princess squares and sewed them together and onto a sparkly pink strip. It is only 72" at the bottom, but I was using a remnant of lace and only had a few inches more than that. The lace is pink, blue, and yellow 1/2" cotton.

It really doesn't hang funny--that is just the way I pinned the skirt to the top for the picture! It makes the crown seem ****-eyed, too. The shirt was $3 and the crown only $2--so the whole outfit was around $8 (I already had the pink material, elastic, and lace

That is so pretty and it looks comfortable too.

He is so cute!! Poor little guy. Hey, how about that Bowling shirt pattern? I loved the She loves Me Knot purse!
I have closed the Disboutique Photobucket account. According to the site it will be gone within 48 hours.

It's done it's over, moving on.
:grouphug:

HS and TJ, the girls look beautiful for the wedding! Sawyer also looks adorable! Weird about the MOTG.:confused3

Carla! I just have to give you a shout out and tell you how much I love you for your patterns  I was in desperation a bit ago trying to figure out how to throw together a costume for Andrew for colonial day for school. (Colonial day is a HUGE event at the boys school, EVERYONE dresses up in colonial garb including teachers and volunteers.) Anyway, I put my thinking cap on, and using your Peasant pattern and Pants pattern and a couple yards of muslin and broadcloth I whipped up a very authentic costume. Pics to follow. I'm telling ya, those patterns are da bomb! :worship:

Glorib, that is a great outfit! Did you applique dots, or did you find fabric like that?

NM, WOW! that is a lot of work!

I went and got my Birthday sewing machine today:cool1:
DH had to hook up an old PC to my monitor since I use a Mac. So now I have two computers hooked up to my monitor. The Futura doesn't work with the Mac. There is a tutorial to help you get started so I think that will be helpful.

Here is a picture of my new machine

We also went and picked up DD's Flower Girl Dress for my Brother's wedding in August.

Thanks for the Zip loc bag tip for travelling I think that will work well. Lets hope that I don't spend too much time ironing them once I get to the US lol. I might actually do that with my own clothes lol - might save them from shampoo explosions and what not :)

Everything is gorgeous ladies (but what's new - You are all inspiring :worship: oh and Tom - you are beyond amazing...I keep thinking I'll get more done if I could persuade DH to sew or knit with me :rolleyes1 )

I emailed Sams Petticoats lady a couple of weeks ago about sending to NZ but I haven't heard back :( I really really want a petticoat. I'll contact the people doing the nylon chiffon again and find out what postage will be as I lost my email. How many yards of fabric do I need for each one?? I want to make the girls pirate outfits as we have decided to do the halloween thing when we go (Halloween isn't something that is celebrated in NZ so thought it could be fun for us all to dress up :) )

I ordered tricot chiffon from Theatre House. I wanted to order from MurielleRoy, but I think the site is down. Anyway, it came right away. In about 2 days. (I know your in NZ). I ordered 4 yards for a 3 layer pettiskirt for Kirsta. And additional colors for the ruffles. Kirsta is 7 years old. Hope this gives you a basic idea.

My problem is my ruffer bit the dust. I went and bought a new one yesterday. From the only dealer in the area to carry them. It's just a generic and it doesn't fit my machine. So I guess I'll have to order one from Ebay.

Thanks for that - I better get onto ordering as I'm a slow sewer at the best of times lol.

I might order enough to make 2 each for the girls - a black one for their pirate outfit and then another colour for each of them. I plan on making them with an adjustable waist so hopefully they will both be able to wear the different coloured ones.
OOOOHHH and I have a ruffler foot coming - YAY - hopefully that will make things easier :)

oooh and I forgot I did some sewing - I made the debut purse from YCMT for a swap with a group of friends (I always manage to get more completed if I'm sewing for someone else). I love this pattern and want to make me a couple (but I never get around to sewing myself anything lol)

Has anybody done any Wendy (from Peter Pan) outfits? My DD insists that's who she is going to be for halloween this year - yes she's already planning halloween - and I figured while MIL still has her sewing maching out I may as well hit her with this one. I could at least find her a pattern.
