I just got back from Hancock and got 2 different patchwork fabrics....a very cute pink/orange/yellow...and a anothe plaid/flowers...I can't wait to do something with them..And of course I had to get my patterns, McCalls and Butterick are 88 cents a piece....Of course if I had any idea how to get pictures on here I would show y'all my fabrics and patterns. I'll learn someday!;)

ok, I thought DMIL was losing her mind (sorry rara) when she told me my post was gone. I know it was before these and now it is not there. WIERD! Well here are the pics again.

I have that fabric (the patchwork one!) i LOVE it. I know I'm going to make shorts for my DD from it to go with a gymboree 4th of July shirt. I have enough that I could make a dress or something too. I haven't completely decided yet.

I went and got my Birthday sewing machine today:cool1:
DH had to hook up an old PC to my monitor since I use a Mac. So now I have two computers hooked up to my monitor. The Futura doesn't work with the Mac. There is a tutorial to help you get started so I think that will be helpful.

Here is a picture of my new machine

We also went and picked up DD's Flower Girl Dress for my Brother's wedding in August.

WOW that is great!!!! I got a New Serger this weekend. It is not nearly as exciting as an embrodery maching, but it is something I have been wanting. It is also a birthday present, three weeks early.

Here is my version of Creative Use of Storkbook Fabric:

I am making a matching one for DD's BF. I have the second skirt made, I just have to do another top.

Here is a picture of a Wendy costume I made for me... Just used a 2 inch (or so?) ribbon for the waistband and the pattern was a bridesmaid pattern or something (zipper up the back). You could easily use a peasant dress for the same effect...

The other costumes are store bought Disney... this was in my "pre-sewing" sewing days. I only made mine because I HAD to! :rotfl:

That is too cute. I bought two panels of that same book about a month ago and I still haven't decided what to do with it. I was thinking about doing a halter sundress with it using CarlaC's pattern of course. Jenna likes those and they are super easy.

That is the cutest picture. Your dress turned out great.

Photo sites

As I posted a little bit ago, we have been working on getting a site like Flickr, Zooomr, or the like set up for our pictures. This way, each person would upload their own pictures, this would eliminate any problems of people's pictures being put there that did not want them, and it would save Heather and I TONS of work!!

I have accounts set up at each right now, I'm just trying to figure out which one looks like it will work best for us. Does anyone have any thoughts regarding them?

Since I use photobucket for everything, I've found flickr a bit difficult to navigate. I haven't even heard of the others. The only question I have is, will it be a private site that requires invitation to view? Or will it be a public site?

Shannon, your siggy is SO COOL!!! I am in awe of your technical skillz!:rotfl: (and your sewing ones too!)

I thought about the sundress too, but the skirt ended up being too much fabric. I used 4 of the 2 page stuck together panels for the skirt. My DD is a small size 4 so it was just too bulky to attach straight to the top. Just a warning, I had to line it with white broadcloth b/c you could see through the skirt. I am a newbie so if I'm telling you something you already know I'm sorry! I just hate making mistakes and having to pull it apart which I did here. My whole outfit came from one panel.

I know I loved that too. I want one like it.

I appreciate any advice. I cut all of the pages apart on a Nemo one that I was working on. I'm hoping that it will reduce some of the bulk.

AW! Thanks! That's so sweet of you! It was really easy. I'm happy to help anyone if you want to make one for yourself. Just hollar!

Very Cute!

I just looked at your siggy, and I didn't know that there were groups on Photobucket! Ok, that is definetely another one I'll be looking at! Thanks Shannon! As far as the private and public, I don't know, I'm still trying to figure everything out.

Just to update everyone, I will be leaving for my trip very early in the morning, so my mom and dad just left with my girls!:sad1: :sad2: :guilty: I have been bawling my eyes out for the last few minutes and I can't seem to stop! I was really doing well until my 4yo old brought me this little blue heart and said " Here mommy, you can take this on your trip to remember me!":sad1: So here I sit, crying like a baby!
Awwwww be strong Mom!!! Hugs for you  Have a wonderful vacation!

Oh Great!!!! I was just going to get settled into my sewing room and now there are storms everywhere! There is a TORNADO warning 1 county away!!! So i guess i will take my laptop to the basement and see what happens!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
So are you ok now? Its 9:30 pm....please be safe and take shelter! Tornados scare me to death. Every storm I always look out the window and worry....silly of me....I know....but they really scare the heck out of me!

For those willing to spend a pretty penny- I have bought from this ebay seller before and her work is really nice (mine were cotton)
she has other princess dresses too

I love the dresses too! I think I really love the fabric. That blue fabric looks like peau de soi (spelling??). I absolutely love that stuff! And the sleeve/peplum material is so rich. That MP outfit looks so real! What talent!

OMG!!! The hail is crazy!!! 4 tornadoes spotted around us!!!:scared1: :scared1:
Take cover my dear and let us know if you are safe! :scared:

Yikes! So, I'm trying to play catch-up here! Lots of things posted here. . .

So, as I was skimming I saw someone posted a vintage minnie! Sorry I didn't quote you - I had to lose the quotes because I had entirely too many!

Anyway, in light of recent things, I'd like to share my vintage minnie - I had originally held it back from posting here and I did put it on :wizard: a while back. But I'm hoping that people don't stop sharing their wonderful creations, so I know I'm going to continue sharing mine. I may put it up on :wizard: again sometime, but for now, it's hanging nicely in Ella's closet.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun making this one:

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday night - I'm headed to work :sad1: Hey, at least it's holiday pay, right? That's what I'm telling myself anyway. That and I have 9 days off after tonight! Famous last words. . . .
Thanks for sharing your very creative solution.....what's that saying...neccessity is the mother of invention??!! Great job! :cutie:

Very Cute!

Revrob I love your siggy "click on the pic" pictures...all of your designs are soo nice! Great job!

Here's one for you guys. Can anyone tell me what Jenna is drinking in this picture?? :lmao: I know I'm a mean momma, but it made a funny picture.

That is too cute - I agree it makes a funny picture. . .

I have closed the Disboutique Photobucket account. According to the site it will be gone within 48 hours.

It's done it's over, moving on.

:( Hope we can find a new way to do something like it

WOW - talk about memory making!! That is AWESOME

I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!!!

Ok ladies, thanks to Revrob, I think we've come up with an idea for the photos. I made a Photobucket group for us. It is set to private now, only people that come to this thread will be able to see it. You will have to add your own pictures, please do not add pictures that are not yours or that are of other peoples children, without their permission.

Ok, here is the link:

I think I mighthave to post a password too, let me check on that...

It's asking me for a password.

It's asking me for a password.

Ok, that's what I thought, sorry, I was going to change my post, then IE shut down on me!

The password is disboards

I think that is the link to only view the album though. I will try to get the link to join too.

Oh cool! I see that Jham has uploaded something to the group Photobucket account! Could some more people try it out?

I put an image in there to test it. I just logged on w/my personal photobucket username.

ETA I also figured out how to transfer photos directly from my photobucket to the group one. Yay me!

When it asked for description I typed in the patterns I used. That way if anyone clicks on it, they can see! I've been working on my Big Give outfit! It is almost done, but my kids are keeping me from finishing it. I can't believe they want to be fed and played with? :confused3
