This board is addicting..............

Once upon a time I was content occassionally making Halloween costumes for my dds. Then we planned this trip to DW and I thought about making them the princess dresses (Belle and Snow White). Then I saw the cute Mickely ears shirts and had to do those. Now I am making them another outfit for Disney. I got the top almost done for older dd yesterday, just have to do the hem and capri pants. Oh, it has buttons. I've never done buttons before :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 (and I lost my instruction manual for my machine!):headache: .

Emily

You might be able to download a pdf version of the manual from the company website. I've had to do that before when I was borrowing a friend's machine.

Well I ended up at my grammies again today as the romper was more difficult then I had thought it would be, plus she has that really cool janome machine that sews the buttons on for you:rolleyes1 She had a hard time with the instructions too so I 'm glad it wasn't just me! The part that was giving us fits was the front wear the buttons are the rest was pretty easy and straight forward. Although my grammy commented a few times "why does it say to do it that way, That's not the way I do it." So I'm glad I asked for help and since I was already there and made use of the serger and got some more done on the "other" projects that have been started on but not yet finished.
So here is sophia in her brand new seersucker romper:

Sorry the color is bad I took the picture with my phone
And here is the back:

And when we got home I took another picture- And she would not "pose" unless she could hold the phone since I had previously used the phone to take the picture:rolleyes:

And yes that is her "art work" on the wall behind her :headache:
I think the apron dress and pants will be done tomorrow- dh & ds & dh's dad are going to the sportsman show so I will have some time to sew while dd is napping!! :woohoo:
Well I better start reading- see what eveyones been upto today :surfweb:

And Teresa- Thanks again for the bookmarks- I used them a ton in the last couple days!!

That is adorable!

Hey everyone!! Has there been any new Pirate & Princess or Epcot designs recently that I have missed? We have a very last minute trip planned in 2 weeks and I need to come up with something for my 8yo. Debating to have her wear the same thing or just wear what she wore in August.

I pm'd ya

I sewed something this week, I didn't just goof around and post totally off-topic pictures!

Here's Sawyer's Buzz Lightyear shirt. He actually likes it! He kept pointing to the Buzz's on it and smiling and hugging the shirt. I don't think he's ever watched Toy Story, but he likes Buzz, apparently.

Here he is "modeling" it. It's nearly impossibe to get a picture of him when he's not up and running, so this is the best I could do! He just finished making a mess of his sister's room and he thinks he's pretty funny.

I think I have the perfect girlfriend for your little boy!! They have a lot in common, don't you think!

This is what I was working on last night. I made this for Jenna to wear on Monday for picture day. She told me that she had to have something that would be prettier than everyone. Well I don't know about that, but this is what I came up with. The little bow on the strap is for her hair.

Anyone know when Stephres is going to be back? I miss her! I need my cute Megan picture fix.

Aw, I missed all you guys too! We got back yesterday and I have been reading to catch up. I had to see what ya'll were up to while we were gone. And we had to watch American Idol before someone spoiled us and we found out who got kicked off. Now I can't decide what to do first:

1) Load the pictures of Megan and Jacob (I took tons!) and start a trip report.
2) Go to youtube and find that SN episode. I know I have seen it because I used to watch it every week.
3) Catch up the laundry/grocery shopping

Hmm, I guess while the pictures are loading I can snoop around youtube after I throw some clothes in the washer. Be back in a bit!

This is what I have been up to all week. I wanted post the pics with Jenna wearing them, but she likes to go to my grandparents house for the weekend. It's the only time she gets to see her cousins. So bear with the white wall in the background.
S2010131.jpg

I found this set of sheets at Wal-Mart and thought they were definitely screaming to become clothes so this is the pillowcase. I also want to make myself a pair of capris out of this.
S2010130.jpg

This is one of the two nightgowns that Jenna convinced me to make for her. The other one is the opposite of this one.
S2010129.jpg

This dress may look familiar. I took one that I had made her and took it apart to make it into a halter dress. This one is not as heavy as it was before and Jenna likes it better and has decided that she wants to wear it to WDW. She didn't want to wear it the other way.
S2010128.jpg

Her Cinderella outfit. It is really cute on her.
S2010127.jpg

Just a capri set.
S2010126.jpg

The other half of the Giselle pillowcase.
S2010132.jpg

And a scallopini skirt made onto a pair of shorts.
Sorry so many pictures.

I like them all. But I LOVE the Cinderella one. Great Job.

YES, this board is very addicting! I woke up this am,and got my coffee, and plopped myself infront of the computer to catch up from last night!

I was asking my DH...do you think if I made Emma another MM Tutu when she turns 5 for our trip....will she wear it, or have outgrown that stage??? What do you ladies think?

I'd do it! My girls will wear much more fun/frilly stuff at DW than they will in real life. Well, Riley anyway. Drew will wear fairy wings to the grocery store!

My dd will be turning 5 in August, and she would definitely wear a MM Tutu! So I say go for it.

Hey Guys. I just need to vent...I've had just a horrible stressful day. Nothing terrible happened just small things that built up. I think Violette is starting her terrible 2's early because she was just a little meanie today. She had little tantrums all day and when I picked her up to bring her in the room for a nap, she clawed my face really hard. I was so mad and upset that I just put her in the crib and shut the door and let her scream. She takes out all her agression on me and it's really upsetting. DH is deployed to Iraq right now and my sick (mentally, physically)mom lives with me. My house is a wreck! And when I say wreck, I mean it. I don't have any clean dishes, there are toys, paper, junk, and laundry everywhere. I just feel so overwhelmed and don't know where to start. It's just not one room, it's the whole house. I wish I could afford to have someone help me organize. My organizational skills are slim to none. DH is the neater one. I just love coming on this board. Everyone is so nice and helpful and it brightens my day to come here. So, I'm sorry I've blabbered out. Just had to let it out.

Go to Flylady.com You will find lots of help there. She has been there/ done that and sells the shirt :lmao: Seriously, she has a plan that will help you take control through just "babysteps" that are not overwhelming. You start with shining your sink (not doing the dishes) and honestly it really does make a difference.

Awesome site. I am going to try this. I think it might actually help me get things together around here.

Ok I just got back from getting lunch and there was a little bit of excitement on the way back. I was happily speeding down the main road (it's actually a highway) and all of a sudden I see blue flashy lights in front of me and then I see some behind me. There are all of a sudden like five or six total blue flashy light cars coming up from behind me. I stopped at the red light and then the policeman that was ahead of me gets in the right-hand turning lane and starts pointing for all of the cars ahead of me to get out of the way, then he pointed at me to do the same. Well it turns out that the truck that was behind the car behind me is who they wanted. They surrounded him and went running at him with guns drawn.
