My Mom just called with some good news. They think that maybe Grandma didn't have a blood infection after all. And, she may be coming home this afternoon!

So, if you could all say some prayers for her speedy recovery, and for my Mom to keep her sanity, that would be great!

Good thoughts, prayers and pixie dust to your Grandma for a speedy recovery.

And some serious pixie dust to your Mom so she can maintain her sanity! :)

Thanks! I thought he was gorgeous too!

Yep, our Mom threw the girls a dog party! I took a few pictures, but my battery went dead, so I don't have too many. It was a lot of fun!

And, yep she is a WONDERFUL Grandma! :lovestruc !!!

So where are the pics?? We wanna see! LOL

Aww that is great news...I hope she does get to come home today!:goodvibes

We moved into our new house 2 weeks ago. We are the first house on this new street. I went to the PO a month ago (~March 3 or 4) to make sure there was nothing I needed to do to have them "recognize" our street, they said we were all set.

March 21 - I submit a change of address to take effect March 31.

March 23 - Our mail just stops coming - nothing at the old address (where we were still living) and nothing at the new address.

March31 - Stop at PO - they claim that maybe we just haven't gotten any mail. WHAT???

April 3 - some mail (only one or two pieces each day and zero on some days) starts arriving at the new house but not much.

April 4 - stop at PO again and they still claim there is no problem on there end.

April 11 - DH calls PO this morning and again they claim there is no problem.
However, we know there is a problem because:
A. Our Netflix DVD's are getting returned to sender.
B. Lori123 sent me some Little Einsteins fabric (THANK YOU LORI!) and she emailed me today to say it was returned to sender.
C. We sent a letter to ourselves late last week and it has still not arrived.

DH calls PO again this afternoon after I heard from Lori - they now admit their error and that they were returning our mail to sender due to "street does not exist." WHAT??? I made then aware of the street over a month ago and we submitted a change of address form well in advance of the move. I am so mad. It is a good thing we get most of our bills electronically.

I had such a long multi-quote going that I became overwhelmed and gave up!

I have picture of the dog party, but it mostly consists of kids sitting on a couch. I didn't get pictures of the cute games and such my mom played with them.

But, I did get a picture of the shirt I just finished for my mom. Isn't she the cutest Mom in the world?

She has recently lost 20 pounds!!! Im so proud of her!!

This shirt gave me a few problems. It's the first thing I ever made for a grown-up (besides Corey's baby pants :rolleyes1 ). The sleeves were way too small, so I had to completely re-cut the armholes based on a shirt that had sleeves that fit her well. I also had to make new sleeves based on that shirt. Once I did that, it went together pretty well- darts and all.

Here is the doggy outfit I made for Arminda to wear to the dog party my mom through for her yesterday. My Dad picked this fabric up for me awhile back at a garage sale. He got a great big bag of fabric for a few dollars! I don't even think he knows how happy new fabric makes me! But, I was REALLY happy with it!! It's a Daisy Kingdom print. The spots on the dalmations look almost exactly like the material I used for the contrast (although I'm pretty sure that fabric is suppose to be cow!) Arminda also requested a headband, so I made her a little tie for her hair.

She was really happy with it, which made me really happy!

And here are some more general pictures of the party, although I didn't get any good ones.

The little girl sitting on the couch is neice Casey's, friend, the other three girls are Casey (my neice), Arminda, and my neice Kelly (Kelly and Armidna were born the same morning, so they call themseles "twin cousins").

And, the battery was pretty dead at this point! I do have a really good picture of my Mom in a pink Mickey shirt that Heather made her, but you will have to wait to see that until Heather posts it!

Okay-deep breath-life goes on-it'll be okay.

Yep it will be...thanks to most of the kind words I have recieved here on the DIS things are getting better for me. I have had to learn to be positive about my move...slowly mind you! Good luck on everything and the upcoming stress.

I had to go find our picture from last year!

 That thing is huge!!!! Pretty sure me and the DH can't eat that by ourselves!

I go by our old house when we visit my parents (they live in the next town form our old home) and there is always mail in the mailbox!!!:headache: Drives me nuts! (We were part of a relo and the company bought our house so it is still on the market, I'm not going thru other peolple's stuff!) I even had loan papers sitting in the mailbox a month after our move! I kinda blame the mortgage company for that one. Good luck gettin it all straight!:thumbsup2

I beat you by 2 minutes!! Arminda's picture isn't showing up. But, I bet you're fixing that as I type this.

Oh, thank you for this message. I probably should call the bank and the lawyer to make sure there is nothing we should have received from them in the past 3 weeks since we closed on the new house.

Last night I was trying to sew a Tinkerbell dress and I changed the stitch to one of the decorative stitches and the wheel that you turn to change the stitch type broke and now the wheel just turns freely. :headache: I told DH what happened and he said, "Well maybe you should just get another one. I don't think the one you have is made for all of the sewing you have been doing." So today I get to go look for a new sewing machine. I am so happy. I think he is ok with me getting a new machine, because the one I have has started squeaking real bad. I have oiled every part that I have been able to get to and it just won't stop.

Yay for you getting a new machine! Congratulations! My machine is so basic I don't have any decorative stitches so I can't wait to see what you get.

We just booked TODAY!!! with Carnival. It's a 5 night out of Tampa. We can't wait. It's at the end of the summer, so I actually have a chance to get tan before I go. I've only sailed Disney, but I purchased a Carnival cruise several times as gifts for people and they've loved it! :)

Cool! We have only been on one cruise and it was a Disney cruise. We thought it was pretty expensive and DH was bored so we have been thinking about one of the ones that leaves out of Tampa. Wave at us as you board the ship!

Love the doll clothes, I love them all. That bubble dress is so cute and the pocket detailing is perfect. Sorry about the poop!

Ugh...Totally off topic. but bad news.
My DH and I have been planning to sell the house, so we can move to a different home with a level yard, and maybe some better closet space. The home we have is great, but we also have been hit with various things that have forced us to do more work than we thought on it. And selling it would wipe out our debt and give us money for a deposit on a new home- and thats assuming we sell it for "cheap" if we get a decent price, it would be great. I figured we would move just a town away- the next few towns over dip pretty far south and would really help my Dh with his 1hr 15m commute. Making it 45min- which would make him happy. And it would still be close to the church we love. I have struggled for years in this area to find friends. We used to live deep in Fairfield County, when we moved the the northern part of the county and I found this church, life has just started to become great. I have even had a few "teas" and had girls over to the house with their kids for the morning- and im finally making progress on making friends. Well a week ago DH comes home and says his company is going to be looking to relocate- about 45m up the shoreline to the Milford-Bridgeport area. So thats fine, we can still look at the towns Im interested in.
Last night DH comes home and says "bad news" his boss is seriously considering an office in Stamford- 45minutes FURTHER from our house. Dh would need to live at least 45 min away from where we are- or more. This would make it very difficult to keep up any relationships, I just dont get it. Seems everytime I barely start to make friends I have to move.
Yet I feel miserable for DH- until we sell the house, he will have a 1hr 45m commute. I know, I used to drive it when I was in the corporate world. Sometimes with bad traffic it took me more than 2hrs to get home at night.

Im trying to convince myself there are pros to this. I looked on realtor.com and there appear to be some nice looking homes below our budget. with access to water. Im just so tired of being lonely. And here I am thinking of having another baby and Ill end up in the same situation I was with the first pregnancy- no one around to help. Not that I have a huge support system here- but I suspect the girls Im getting to know now might offer to pop in with a meal or watch DD so I can nap.

Okay-deep breath-life goes on-it'll be okay.

I'm so sorry. We are here for you.

My Discover card found a darling little Coach bag it had been wanting. Discover card has such LOVELY taste in bags!!!:flower3:

Sounds great! I was thinking about getting, what are the called, wristlets? To cram money and my cell phone in at the soccer games.

That is crappy! I hope they get it fixed soon. It is lucky you do all your bills electronically, otherwise they would be costing you a ton of money in late fees!

Ok, I did something productive today. I went to a trendy second-hand shop and found this cute shirt in size xl. I imagine some large teenager got it for Easter and couldn't wait to get rid of it:

IMG_0419.jpg

I used the tut of craftster, sort of. I actually cut it apart and then used the pattern pieces from CarlaC's jumper dress/a-line dress. To be honest, it was harder than just using fabric and following her instructions. Megan grabbed it as soon as she got home though so I think she likes it:

IMG_0421.jpg

It's so big! I used size 6 but I wanted her to be able to wear it a lot. It was my first time doing the ruffled elastic straps, and I love them!

IMG_0422.jpg

This is for Karebear, who seems to be having "the Megan" withdrawals :rotfl2: :

Off to the soccer field, wristlet-less, all my money and cell phone crammed in my overpriced jeans pocket, have a good night all!

Aw, your mom is a cutie! I love that shirt, even though it gave you problems. The darts make it fit great.

Aw, the doggie outfit is great! The little girls are so cute sitting together next to the bigger girls. Sounds like a great party.

Ok, I'm really leaving now, no more posting until I get back, LOL!

1.)Grandma should be coming home today, from what I hear. And, apparently, Granmda's nurse informed my Mom that she wouldn't be able to do anything for herself. Poor poor Mommy...
2.)Yes, my Mom is awfully cute!!! I'm so proud of her weight loss too!
3.)Thanks, I fixed my picture so you can actually see the outfit better now!
4.)Ok, sure, no problem! :thumbsup2

Is your dad on the DISboards???? Love the doggie party dress and how cute your mom is!!!!!

Stephres- CUTE!!!!! I have a Micey Mouse camp shirt I'm going to doe that to!

All this talk of Free dining has me jealous! On one hand, I so want to go back this fall but on the other hand, I don't want to deal with the Free Dining crowds. Maybe I can convince DD to go early December - less crowds, less heat.:upsidedow

I've been during different times of the year, except Xmas, and I've found even with the free dining, this is the best time. It's not always hot. But it's not like July! Which I refuse to go. The only trouble, and it wasn't bad last year, was getting the ADR's you want.

1.)Is your dad on the DISboards????
2.) Love the doggie party dress and how cute your mom is!!!!!

Stephres- CUTE!!!!! I have a Micey Mouse camp shirt I'm going to doe that to!

1.)Only his feet!
2.)Thanks!

There's my little Sue! :lovestruc She looks so pretty! I loved that dog outfit, it was absolutely adorable!

:rotfl2: about the XL teen getting rid of his easter shirt.

I love this dress! I've been wanting to try that with a button-up shirt, but haven't got a shirt to use yet. This is so cute and unique!!! Megan looks even CUTER than usual in these pictures!

Sounds great! I was thinking about getting, what are the called, wristlets? To cram money and my cell phone in at the soccer games.

I LOVE Coach wristlets!! My engagement ring was presented to me inside one!!! He wanted to clinch the deal by waving a coach bag in front of me!

SUPER darling dress!!! My goodness...how I wish I could see a shirt in a shop somewhere and think to myself..."I think I'll turn this shirt into a competely adorable dress today..." Wow! That is called TALENT!!

yeah...Megan looks like she could get out of trouble pretty easily...too cute for words!!!

OMG..That thing is huge!! I remember watching something on tv about Disney Resorts, and they showed the "Kitchen Sink" but it looked much bigger in your picture!! No way dh and I will be able to finish that. My dd loves ice cream, but only vanilla and ds has dairy allergy.

I must have missed your original post, but glad to hear that your grandma is doing well and ay be coming home. Will say a prayer for a speedy recovery for your grandma.

So sorry you are getting no mail. We went through the same thing when we moved into our home almost 5 years ago. It is very frustrating to deal with the post office. Hope it gets resolved soon and you start getting mail.

Your mom looks great, so does the shirt!!! I have never made anything for an adult yet, and afraid to try.

What a cute outfit!

That looks great, and how resourceful of you to turn a shirt into a dress.

2.)Thank you!
