Sadly, no...I was a bit messageboard illiterate until jham lured me over here...embarrassing as that is to say out loud...:rotfl:

I think I saw the movie 15 or 17 times in the theater...it was a HUGE escape for my girlfriend and I...we were both having major issues in our marriages at the time (go figure...we both ended up getting divorced!) and it was nice to get away for 3 or 4 hours! In all honesty though, I've always been a HUGE Titanic history buff, and I was super reluctant to go see the movie because I was afraid it would be butchered and made all Hollywood, ya know? James Cameron did a phenomenal job and was so historically accurate while intertwining the Jack and Rose love story...
Oh wow...here I go again! :sad2:

One super cool thing I was able to do while living in Florida was going to the ginormous Titanic exhibition dealie after one of our trips to WDW!!!! Not sure if it's still there or not but it was AMAZING! They had all kinds of actual artifacts from the ship, rooms decorated just like the ship (even the staircase!) and actual actors walking around that you could ask questions and talk to...it was soooooo COOL!!!!

:scared1:
Oooh! I want to see that exhibit! I'm not sure if we'll get a chance to this trip, but if I have an extra day and I'm not absolutely exhausted, I might try it.

I saw the majority of my Titanics all alone! I saw it once with Henry, once with Teresa, once with my best friend and the other 8 times by myself!

Yes I did but Please dont ask me to go find it. LOL. Thanks. I even found some later at a walmart know I have more of the fabric. LOL. When Ill use I dont know.

Thanks For The Fabric,
Also Thanks For Remembering Me,

Melanie
Of course I'm going to ask you to find it! That goes with the territory!

I just wanted you to know that I literally LOL, when I saw that. :lmao: From now on I will be referring to you when I say it.
:rotfl: I'm glad you appreciated it!

Which Rose doll do you have? I have one too! It's the black and red dress she wears when she almost jumps....I also have a Captain Smith doll---I got it at Target during all the Titanic Craze..wish I would've gotten the rest of the crew! DANG!
My Rose is still in the box, but prominently displayed with the rest of my Titanic memorabilia...sooo proud!:woohoo:

SOOO sad about my dress! I made the blue and pink one she wears for the end of the movie...it was purty, I must say! Seli was 4 at the time and I made her a little red & black one...SO cute! I won some award for a Halloween costume contest, had the wig and everything! good times!
The blue and pink one that's all flowy and pretty while she's running through the engine room? *sigh* I'm asking for pictures, too. I have that same doll, too. However, mine is in a box in the basement somewhere, still unpacked from our last 3 moves.

I guess I should post more photos of Ireland actually looking decent. She usually wears her hair curly to school, but when we're home on the weekend, I don't fuss with it. She gets the standard ponytail.
Here is another outfit that I finished lately. The front part, on the bodice, instead of doing a ruffle, I tried to copy Aurora's white part on her dress. I'm not sure if I like it or not..I love the jeans though, I made button holes in the denim and laced ribbon through.. I will definately be doing this again.

sorry to edit...but I wanted to add, that I made the little roses on the dress, and they go all the way around the dress.
I LOVE this one! What a great idea to put the little pointy thing on the top instead of a ruffle- very clever! BTW, Ireland and Lexie always looks beautiful, not just decent!

With all this talk of cake... I just wanted to share a quick photo of the cake I made for DD's birthday last month.
th_cakeIMG_0214.jpg

That is so pretty! I love it!

that pattern is the EASIEST pattern I have ever done. . . once you have the pieces cut out it takes no time to put together. . . the instructions are very clear. Once you make one it will be a breeze. I promise, I have only been sewing for about a month. . .

Thanks for the encouragement!

Which one from YCMT are you using? The Portrait Peasant Dress/Top pattern is my absolute favorite, but the Dainty Designs is not very user friendly.

I'm using the Portrait Peasant Dress/Top pattern. Glad to hear you both like it. I might start it today! (Still a bit nervous - SLEEVES!)

You will do just fine! These are super-easy sleeves! No gathering or anything like that involved. The directions are really clear. Just do what they say and VOILA- a shirt (or dress as the case may be)!

I bought the Dainty Designs one- I didnt know there were multiple patterns.
I have not taken this on yet- and dont know if I will. DD is only about 31-32" tall- and that looks like a lot of dress for such a little person.....
I just read it for the first time (I think I bought it last week) forgive me if Im slow....but where is the pattern itself?

I just wanted to prove that I actually have been sewing...I made this with Carla's pattern..**Thanks Carla**

The two up close pictures of the Disney Logo and the ships wheel are the appliques on the pants. This set was fun to make...now if only I knew someone going on a cruise...:rolleyes1
gosh how I wish it was me..:sad1:

WOW! :worship: What a gorgeous dress! And Ireland looks so grown up. Glad to see you around again.

And you're looking for someone going on a cruise? RIGHT HERE!!!! We're planning one for August 09. Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! :rotfl2:

I don't have that pattern, but the YCMT patterns aren't your typical pattern you buy. Look towards the back of the ebook you bought. There should be pieces back there for you to use, unless the Dainty Designs one is different. I'm probably no help.

That pattern is so easy. I love it so much. It is the one that I use to make Jenna's night gowns. I have also used it to make an underdress. Like previously said "no gathering". It's just a straight peice and the pattern is so easy to understand. I have even made several gowns and dresses for Jenna's doll.

For those who want to get there DD an AG doll but don't want to pay that much for a doll that will be set aside. Target has a doll that is the same size, has a bunch of accessories, and she kind of looks like the AG doll. She is a Generations doll. Jenna got one from DH's grandmother for Christmas and she loves the doll.

No curlers...no her hair isn't naturally curly either, it's sort of wavy but straight in spots..very weird hair...When her hair is damp, I use socks like hair curlers and roll the hair around the width of the sock and then tie the ends together and it holds it in, then in the morning I take them out, and wa-lah..instant curls without damaging her hair. She used to do pageants, and I had to roll it all the time. ICK..it fried her hair...I will see if I can find some funny pageant pictures..

As a former "pageant" girl I know what you mean about hair being fried. My grandmother finally discovered curlers that didn't damage my hair but produced the springy curls so desired at pageants! Thank goodness b/c I was fixin to go BALD! My oh my how we were fluffed and sparkled within an inch of our little lives! I loved it. I really did...stocks were purchased for me with my winnings!:rotfl2: I'm glad about it now though b/c if something bad ever happened, I'd have a wee cushion to fall back on today! I will NOT be posting any pictures from MY pageants days! :lmao:

This is a first...I'm actually quoting myself....(isn't that illegal in 48 states :confused3 :rotfl: )
anywho, I found a quick photo, of what I had to do to her every weekend...:sad2:
zoompinksweater.jpg

No pageant flames please...we don't do them anymore, and it's paid for her college, unless she plans on Yale, so we are now finished. :)

I'm not surprised in the least that Ireland made that kind of money. She's gorgeous and EXACTLY what judges love. She's just an undeniably beautiful child. That seems to be a trend here on the Dis! All y'all have these amazingly beautiful children! Did y'all do Pro-Am in your pageants? I'm never sure if that was just the Southern pageants circuits that did that or not. I have to laugh every time I remember how hard I practiced my "faces"...:lmao:

Oh my goodness...I may have to CASE your cake!!! My step daughter's birthday is next week and she would be in heaven over that cake!!! (Okay well I'll take a picture to the bakery and see if THEY can case it...I'm not completely delusional!;) )

Really, the sleeves are super simple! After the first time I made it, I didn't even need the instructions anymore. I just use the patter to cut my pieces and do the rest on my own. You'll love it, I'm sure of it!

Elisa, what is Carla's pattern? I love this outfit!!!

There has been lots of talk on the peasant dresses lately! I think most of us use CarlaC's Portrait peasant dress because it is super easy and very versatile. I know a few of us tried the dainty designs peasant top. That one was not as user friendly - I won't go back to using that one! I don't know if anyone has tried DaintyD's peasant dress. I do like the look of that one. Let us know if you like it.

Here' are a few things I've made with CarlaC's pattern...

don't be scared of the sleeves on a peasant top--they are not like "regular" sleeves because you don't have to fit them around an armhole. they are way easy since the top of the sleeve joins the neckline and you put a casing around the whole thing. I love this pattern!

Wow! I love it. All those ruffles...my head hurts just thinking about that. I like the white part on the top.

I don't remember if I told you or not, but I love the nautical one too. It's just gorgeous!

I just read it for the first time (I think I bought it last week) forgive me if Im slow....but where is the pattern itself?

I've used the dainty designs one about three times without any problems! I even cut it a little longer because everyone had said it didn;t fit right, but I wound up cutting it back off! I will say however I use this pattern for my 1yo and she is small for her age which might be why it fits her!

Sounds like my hair (and both of my girls' hair). It's pretty irritating, actually. Mine only curls if I don't want it to & never anything remotely evenly. :headache:
