We got DD's school pictures back. I'm glad we went with the lemons! Not too bad for school pictures...

That yellow really looks good on her and the pictures turned out great.

It's funny how they become quite the model after we start sewing!!! Those are very cute. I have that HM fabric, but have absolutely no ideas for using it. If I don't hurry up, HM is going to be history!

Ok, this is my 3rd post in the last few minutes because I keep forgetting to post these. This is dd with her Marie outfit on. I love this one!!!! I have just enough fabric to make one more ;)

And... the "Emma"

Here are the Hannah Montana outfits I made the girls. I'm not too excited about them but the girls love them so that's good.

this guitar shirt is a total CAB and the edges need some more fraying:

and here she is wearing the shirt to school today (she did her own hair :sad2: )
th_IMG_0037.jpg

Lily's shirt is an iron-on from Joanns (the hearts are kinda fuzzy). She calls it her "rock shirt" and she really LOVES the purple sparkly ric rac! She just sits and plays with it.
th_IMG_0039.jpg

and just because I have created a posing maniac!

th_IMG_0041.jpg
I love the guitars. We are major HM fans in our household. Your DD's hair doesn't look bad.
So her goes nothing or hopefully something...this is my first time posting photos and I hope I did it right:rolleyes1

Since the machine is dead I did some stuff by hand, which will not be a lot!

This is a shirt I picked up from Goodwill for $2 ( I love a bargain!) and my DD8 came up with the idea to embelish the top and shorts.
th_IM000788.jpg

These are her hairbows. She is very proud of them!:goodvibes
th_IM000789.jpg

My DS6 is a HUGE LE fan...just some iron on for him...I'm doing his shirt later.
th_IM000786.jpg

th_IM000787.jpg

This is some fabric I picked up at Hobby Lobby (my new favorite place) and the front off of some overalls my late MIL gave to me while I was pregnant. She gave me a junior size, while I was prego!:confused3 I have not seen a junior size since:rolleyes1 ....so I saved them and knew I would do something with them some day. :woohoo: I am going to make a top for my DD.
th_IM000790.jpg

And here is the gang on easter...all store bought outfits.
th_IM000782.jpg
Very cute stuff today. I have a pattern to do a skirt like what your DD is wearing in the last pic. I didn't think to do it in light colors. I think I will try one in pastels.

Elisa, your work is so incredibly gorgeous.

*Can someone help me out? I'm trying to track down the Marie fabric that a couple of you used to make tops and jumpers for your dd's. I found a little bit on ebay but it's from Asia. Is that where you bought it? I'm worried about the safety of buying something from Asia with pp. I NEED that fabric. Or the one with Marie and suckers that I found. Or both. :lmao:

We've been at Great Wolf Lodge over the weekend and now I'm back and going to sit down and work on dd's Cinderella twirl skirt again.

Thanks!

I have some of the Marie fabric. yes, I ordered it from Asia. It's only a yard, but do you want to trade a yard of something for it? Pm me...:)

Very cute outfit! I really like the skirt - is that the double ruffle skirt pattern, without one of the ruffle?

Love the embelish top and shorts! What a great idea. Your children are adorable!

I guess I should post more photos of Ireland actually looking decent. She usually wears her hair curly to school, but when we're home on the weekend, I don't fuss with it. She gets the standard ponytail.
Here is another outfit that I finished lately. The front part, on the bodice, instead of doing a ruffle, I tried to copy Aurora's white part on her dress. I'm not sure if I like it or not..I love the jeans though, I made button holes in the denim and laced ribbon through.. I will definately be doing this again.
th_IrelandandLexieChristmas20071753.jpg

sorry to edit...but I wanted to add, that I made the little roses on the dress, and they go all the way around the dress.

Love this...well, I love all your customs, and wish I am just as talented!

I'm such a newbie I can't pm. :guilty:

If a couple of you have bought marie fabric and everything has gone ok, then I think I will buy the fabric I found. I just needed a little reassurance I guess. Never bought anything from another country before. :flower3:

thanks!

Very cute! Where did you get the Hannah Montana fabric? My DD was just invited to a HM party and wants a dress.

Does the skirt go with the shirt she was wearing for school? My DD10 would love that kind of shirt but I'm not so sure she would wear the skirt. I so love seeing your outfits for your older DD! How old is she (if I can ask)?

Thanks!

Me too! And you should see the house! DH is out of town so I'm not cooking or cleaning much :rotfl: Kiddos? I have kids? :scared1:

So cute! And I love Emma's bows!

Very cute outfit! I really like the skirt - is that the double ruffle skirt pattern, without one of the ruffle?

DD is a size 12 so I just made up a double layer skirt. I may have even just done one fabric width for the yoke and 2 fabric widths for each layer of skirt? I can't remember--that was way back 2 days ago. :rotfl:

Very cute! Where did you get the Hannah Montana fabric? My DD was just invited to a HM party and wants a dress.

I got it at WalMart

Does the skirt go with the shirt she was wearing for school? My DD10 would love that kind of shirt but I'm not so sure she would wear the skirt. I so love seeing your outfits for your older DD! How old is she (if I can ask)?

Yes, I made the shirt to go with the skirt. I would've made something less "foufy" but she demanded RUFFLES! :rotfl: She is 10 and still wants to dress like a princess :confused3 I'll enjoy it while it lasts I guess!

I LOVE the lemons! This is the lemon dress I made...it's Carla's pattern:

That is just the cutest picture of Saylor! I love her in lemons! :rotfl:

Okay gotta go get some work done so I can play tonight!

My wedding dress came from China. I don't have any problems ordering from other countries just give the item plenty of time to get to you.

We have had the same problem with my DD 2 1/2. Since January she has had 3 ear infections but up until this point had only had one. I also breastfed for a year. She has never complained about her ear hurting but she runs 103-105 fevers so we take her to the doctor. Of course we've run the course of 3 different antibiotics and one decongestant. I took her to the pediatrician about 2 weeks ago because two of the times she has spiked her fevers and ended up with the ear infections have been after hours and so we took her to a place called Acute Kids (a pediatric urgent care open from 5pm - 12am M-F and open all weekend) that is a life saver in these cases. I felt like since she hadn't seen her pediatrician the last two times she might need to take a look and see what she thought was going on. She did have fluid in her ears still but it was clear, so no infection. She also said that the fluid can last up to 2 months after the infection. We had had her on zyrtec but she switched her to Singulair (of course a week later they come out saying there is an elevated risk of suicide/depression for teenagers and adults! but since she is only two I think we ought to be okay:) ). The Singulair has helped clear up her constant runny nose so I have high hopes that this might be the end of it. We are going back to the doctor in two weeks to have her check on her ears again though. Also, she has always been a talker (complete sentences since 10 months) but has recently developed a stutter. It is driving her nuts. When she starts to stutter she covers her mouth and if she gets really frustrated she says, "I can't say it!" The pediatrician said that it is probably a developmental thing and to watch it for 6 months. It hasn't stopped her from talking at all I just feel bad that she is so frustrated. If it does seem to quiet her up I will seek out a referral to a speech therapist, but does anyone else know anything about this? Do you think it could be related to the repeated ear infections? They will check her hearing in two weeks to make sure but I just feel so bad for her!

Sounds a lot like what my Noah went through! Constant ear infections - only he never complained or got a fever so I had to watch for other signs. Sometimes I didn't know until he was ready to rupture (and did once). When we did the follow up checks he always had fluid left but no infection. After about a year of this I did sporadic checks at the ped for fluid - I was concerned how he was hearing if there was fluid always present. I then took him to an ENT and they did a good hearing check - turns out he had a 30% hearing loss and sustained it for 3 months to meet the "guielines" for tubes. Good news with this is that after the tubes his hearing was completely normal since we got rid of the fluid. When we left the hospital he kept telling us how loud everything was! Noah also started a stutter - later on, it was not related to the ear infections. We were also told it could be a normal thing he will grow out of - but we chose to be proactive and do some speech therapy instead of waiting to find out. He really enjoyed it. A lot of it was teaching us too - not to interrupt him, finish his sentences (we think he was trying to talk fast to get his words in - competing with us and his twin sister) and help slow him down.

BTW - I saw the cutest (and vaugely familiar) minnie sailor set on :wizard: today!! ;) ;) ;) (Search Dis Boutique)

With all this talk of cake... I just wanted to share a quick photo of the cake I made for DD's birthday last month.
th_cakeIMG_0214.jpg

Awesome job! Geez... I wish they had that kit when I had an influx of orders for castle cakes last summer. I used pringles cans and ice cream cones. What a pain!

Great outfits today ladies!!! :cool1:

Oh and I finally ordered Carla's Sweet Dresses and Tops from YCMT and I also ordered fabric. (had to pay $9 in S/H :sad2: ) I know the pattern only goes up to size 8 but I am hoping to make DD9 a top for her birthday with it......she is going into the double digits girls....
