I was going to say that someone has to finish them before we can give you a preview. But, she beat me to it! :rotfl2:

I also wanted to comment that I'm 5'4" and my husband is 6'3" and he was 4lbs 11 oz when he was born and his mom smoked while she was pregnant in '74. I though that was an interesting coincidence.

I finished all the ice cream outfits a few days ago, so we should have the girls try those on tomorrow. Why didn't we take pictures when they all tried on the pink Mickey shirts? :headache:

Don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day...besides, we both know I've been training to become a cage fighter....:rotfl2:

How cute! I love the ties on the shoulders! Your kids are so adorable!

YAY!! I didn't know you finished them! Yes, we'll definitely take a picture of the girls together tomorrow.

I think I forgot to mention (in my glucose orange soda fog from last week) that I stopped at the sewing machine store (it's not a fabric store, just a machine place) on the way home from my doctor's visit and bought a ruffler (I was having a rough day, I needed retail therapy!). I have absolutely no idea how to use this thing!

Oops- I was so excited that we and our husbands are the same height, possibly born the same year, who's mothers had the same bad habit during pregnancy, resulting in babies weighing almost the same amount- that I forgot to comment on your new ruffler. Have you downloaded the free "Unruffling the ruffler" ebook on youcanmakethis.com? CarclaC wrote it, so it's really easy to understand. Every ruffler and every machine seems to be a little different. So, you'll have to fiddle with the settings on it until you get the ruffles the way you want them. But, the ebook will tell you how to do that.

Ok, all - I'm Dising at work - shhhh! But I absoultely COULD NOT WAIT to tell Teresa that I'm fully in love with the Marie dress! It is stunningly gorgeous and so is Lydia!

Ok, I guess I should go do some work or something . . . I'll catch up more in the am!

I made sophia a new dress today!! It is reversible! And I haven't finished the bottom yet. There was a diaper mishap while she was "trying it on" and it now needs to be washed before it can be finished :sad2:

ok back to catch up on a few pages....

She is so cute. Love the dress and that fabric!

...but I had to share. Jenna got a paper home from school today that says she has all A's!!! I'm so proud of her. She was behind when she first started at this school and now she is on the A Honor Roll. :cool1:

Way to go Jenna! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Oh, and I don't know if I let anyone know but I did get my test results back yesterday and I don't have gestational diabetes nor am I anemic! Yeah! Now if they could just figure out why my babies are so big!!! Please! Personally, I blame my husband. My sister and I were nice little babies (like 6 lb. 5 oz.). Normal sized in my opinion. My husband and his brother and sister were all small but my MIL has over a pack a day habit that she didn't bother to get rid of while pregnant (in her defense, my DH and his brother were born in '74 and '76 - I'm sure they knew it wasn't healthy but probably not to the extent they do now - it doesn't explain why with my DH's sister who was born in '83 she didn't stop then). Everyone on his side of the family is large even though they started out around 5 - 6 lb. My DH is 6'3, his brother around 6', and sister also around 6'. I blame him every time I get a chance! It is certainly not my fault (at a whopping 5'4") that I have such big babies!

My first baby I had gestational diabetes. They didn't figure it out till I was 8 months prego. That dd was 10 LBs and 12 oz! My second dd I didn't have gestational diabetes and she was ONLY 9 lbs and 2 oz....a tiny baby in comparision.

My mom smoked when she was pregnant with me (that was back in 74 too) and I was still 7lbs 6 oz! She smoked with all her kids and I was the smallest. I am still the shortest!

Your children are just tooo cute! LOVE the new dress!

This is why I haven't gotten one yet - I mean how do I know how long to make my ruffle fabric?? OR when I do one of Carla's patterns - how do I know what to set it at to attach say the skirt to the bodice??

On YCMT the free page has a "ruffler unruffled" free ebook that is supposed to explain the ruffler foot better :) I haven't personally downloaded it yet :)

I found Napoleon Dynamite chapstick last week at books a million and bought it for my friend. hee.

tinkabella - have you tried rechargeable batteries for your camera? They're pretty cheap and worth it in my opinion.

OK, I'm done hogging the board now.

I love that crab fabric. And blue & brown...tdf. Oh, I really liked the library outfits too, I'm not sure where that quote went. :confused3 cute stuff!

Okay Tadamom/Amy, this one's for you:

th_IMG_0124-1.jpg

And here's a closeup of the applique. I cheated and used fabric marker for the eyes. And I swear the gathering is not uneven on that orange polka dot square in front of the orange fish. That photo is driving me crazy! (I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to making my ruffles even, but I am not perfect by any means! Just mental.)

th_IMG_0128-1.jpg

I LOVE this skirt! Both my girls had blue terry dresses with goldfish on them when they were infants. They're just so sute! (the goldfish, the girl, your skirt)

I stopped at the sewing machine store (it's not a fabric store, just a machine place) on the way home from my doctor's visit and bought a ruffler (I was having a rough day, I needed retail therapy!). I have absolutely no idea how to use this thing! I read the directions but I need a specific formula thingy (I am one of those sick people who enjoy math and need the "rules" of it) and it doesn't give one! Do I just use trial and error to figure out how to set it? I think what I want is to be able to ruffle a 44 inch piece of fabric to 22 inches. Are all rufflers the same and has anyone figured out how to set it so it ruffles to that extent?

I think rufflers have minor variations plus it seems to me that different fabric will ruffle a little differently - mostly due to the thickness of the fabric. When I got mine, I took a length of fabric and put my ruffler settings on the shallowest "pleat", set it to pleat every stitch and made my stitch length to the longest my machine will do. I measured the fabric strip before and after ruffling. I usually still need to pull the bobbin thread a bit as I pin the ruffle to the other fabric but it's usually just a small amount so I can get seams to line up.

I finished Lydia's Marie outfit this morning! I think it really turned out well! Lydia loves it too. She loves Marie.

And a great big Thank You!!! to Glorib, for sending us the Marie fabric!!! :grouphug:

I made this with less than half a yard of the Marie fabric!

I used Carla's Simply Sweet jumper top, and the ruffles from the peasant dress pattern. Thanks Carla!

I  it! The outfit & the fabric. This is NOT helping my resolve to not buy more fabric right now. ;)
