Here is a laugh for the day.

Months ago I bough about 50 spools of thread from voldermart . They were the tall thin ones. I loved all the colors but hated using them because the silver spindle thing on my sewing machine was to short for it. I had to stop ever few stitches and loosen the thread (Ok I am sure you know where this is going).

So last night I was using a spool and was thinking would it be great is this spindle was taller so the tall thread would fit right? So I pull up it and bamm!!!! It does go taller:rolleyes1 :headache:

I cant believe I went all of these months and didn't:scared: know it did that

Anybody who sews will tell you that they've all had momements like those and you just get in disbelief of yourself. LOL. I think the newer machines have them made to fold down because the old portable machines didn't and they'd get broken.
Thanks for the giggle!
Susan

I just have a few minutes, so I haven't caught up yet. But, I just wanted to show you guys what I was working on yesterday. I've had this fabric for a while and I love it so much that I wanted to make something really cute. I used CarlaC's new pattern and embellished it a bit. I just love it! I put a snap on the back of he little jewel flower on Hello Kitty's head, so I can snap it off for the wash.

Here's my pitiful attempt at artsy-fartsy photography:

My cutie-pie:-------------------------------Close-up of the dangly things. Tessa wanted a purse and a heart, and butterflies. So this is what I did:

I put the Mary Poppins dress under it to see how it would look. So, if you see any red bows, that's why!:

Now I'm off to my mom's to eat (core) pizza with Teresa and everyone!
I gained 1/2 pound this week

That's so cute, I love all the details and ruffles :)

Both of these are from New Look 6796. Very fast and easy!

This one can be for "everyday"

This one probably NOT for everyday, being mainly ivory and all. . . Maybe Easter? Not sure yet. It's kinda casual for Easter.

Back to the machine! Got another top to whip up! This next one will be an apron top with some super cute cat fabric. another for the "everyday" collection.
First of all- You make me have a giggle fit every time I see your Truffle Shuffle :lmao: Your "every day collection" and your "mostly ivory- not for everyday" is cute! I suddenly need monkey themed fabric!

WAIT! WW Core Pizza? I need the recipe. Oh, and your artsy-fartsy stuff is cute! Smart to put a snap on the flower.

Alright DD is home and here is the outfit that I made for her to wear to school. I hate that I am limited on what I can do for her for school but I think that this turned out pretty cute.

The socks are the ones that I made for her for Valentine's Day. She decided to wear them today.
What pattern is that, if you don't mind my askin. I want a simple a-line pattern.

Cute socks too!

It's a pattern that I made up myself. I traced the bodice peice of a dress pattern and just drew a straight line down the side to the length that I wanted. (hint: I used easel paper for the pattern tracings.)

I like it, what are the restrictions for school?

Lori
They have to wear uniforms. Khaki or navy pants, skirts, shorts, capris or jumpers. DD's school colors are red, navy blue and white shirts. They used to say just the polo style shirts but have started bending on that and are now allowing other types of shirts as long as they are a solid color with no pictures, writing or anything like that. That's about it. So it's kind of limited as to what I can do for DD for school. I don't want to push too far on the policy and I think that they are more lax because this is just elementary school. So basically I make something, send DD to school in it and then hold my breath hoping they don't call and tell me to bring a change of clothes. :rotfl:

LOVE these fabrics!

I bought some fabric today from Joanns, hoping to try something besides a pillowcase dress this weekend. We will see though! Will have to use the "practice" fabric first. Thanks for the constant encouragement and inspiration!

I think i have the hang of the pillowcase dresses so far :cool1:

Here is my question, i like the look of some of these that have added a strip of fabric at the bottom like these (got this from the photobucket page)
IMG_0921.jpg

How would i do this? I need very basic terms :rolleyes1 Thanks!!!!!

I just love these types of tops, I have a feeling Ella will have quite a few for spring and summer.

I just loved this fabric. I think the bright colors sucked me in.

We rented that Wonder Emporium movie tonight, so we're going to pop some popcorn and have a movie night! Hope everyone has a good night!

As I was cooking dinner I Dis'd and had a bunch of multi-quotes all ready to repsond to, then DH came home and we ate. DD4 developed a fever to go along with her non-stop coughing  so off to the Urgent Care we went. No wait...I love it. We were outta there pretty quick and then I brought her home and turned around and went out (in the pouring rain BTW) to get her scripts filled. I came home and DH had all the laundry and the dishes done!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 However, I lost all my quotes and now I am exhausted from my 12 hour non-stop day.

So what I was going to say was I love Tessa's new kitty dress with removable bling! Isn't it almost her BD??

Love your scraps to cuteness dress Steph!

Love that beautiful baby Hope! So precious~

And Castle - I have been meaning to say that everytime your siggy comes up my girls and I have to ride the monorail around a few loops yelling out what the stops are. :yay: What a great siggy! Where did you find it?

And to everyone I missed I love all the new stuff posted! I really must say I look forward to Dising with you all every night even if I don't have time to respond!

I know this has been asked a thousand times, but about how much are these custom dresses going for for those of you selling them on Ebay?

Stripwork Jumper Pattern owners. . .

I am having a dumb moment. . .

Anyhow, in deciding the length I want I am looking at the little legs (I'm doing size 1) I want it to be at the 16 1/2 or 17 1/2 - BUT there is another number to the left (8 or 9). . . so. . . are the strips 8 or 9 inches or 16.5/17.5??? Does the larger number (like 16.5) include the whole thing??? TIA!
