Wow, that's the longest post I've ever written. Sorry to take up 1/2 of your day reading that! :)
Don't you apologize for that! I loved reading it!!! I love these name stories!!!

And, just because I know you guys were all dying to know, I am named after a singer my Mom liked. I'm thinking it was Teresa Brewer?

I'm going to jump in with a name story. A little background. My son is Kyle Eric. We picked Kyle simply because my mom is from Scotland, and there are bodies of water there called Kyle's. Eric is a Viking name...viking, water. I liked it together. My kids are 14 years apart. My daughter was a complete surprise as we were told we couldn't have any more without "intervention." I was 11 weeks pg before I knew it. I thought I had a really bad flu...

Here is where the story comes in:

I had a dream when I was first pregnant (before i even knew!) that I had a baby girl. In my dream I was yelling to my son that he had to feed the baby or she would starve. He told me I was being silly. I said "You have to feed Kristina or she will starve." Fast forward about 3 weeks or so. I find out I am pregnant. When we later found out she was a girl, I just knew I had to name her Kristina. We spelled it with a K because my son and husband both have K names :) Her middle name(s) are Isabelle Alice. Isabelle is my grandmother and Alice is DH's grandmother. Both were still living when we found out I was pg. Sadly, Alice passed on before she got to see Kristy, but my grandma is going to be 88 in July.

I've done this expo before and LOVED it. The last two years it's been held here on a weekend we've been too busy for me to attend. I'm hoping that I can go this year.

I'm hoping this year to be able to save enough money to buy one of the Vyking machines they use in the class after the expo is over, they sell them after each expo. I really want to take the serger 101 class.

I'm named after Crystal Gail and my middle name is after my aunt. Her name is Marylin Annette. My mom just added an L to it to get Lannette. Crystal Lannette. My dad wanted to name me Crystal Estelle. I'm kind of glad that my mom won that argument. I think that Lannette is sort of unique.

I saw Crystal Gail at the fair when I was little! I thought she was SO beautiful! But, I didn't get the song, why would someone want to turn their brown eyes blue??? :confused3 :lmao:

My dad loved that song. That's why my name is Crystal. The song came out the same year I was born. He had brown eyes and I have blue. I always thought that was a neat coincidence.

hahaha I think I had the same questions when I was really little too! I remember always wanting my hair long like hers. So when I was about 4 or 5 I had hair down to about my knees and LITTLE did I know when I growing it that hair as beautiful as Hers would take such work and HURT so badly when brushing for such a little girl. hahaha It was hacked off when I went into Kindergarten! It was really pretty though. Long golden blond hair with long ringlets of curls.

I was named after my Cousin Kelly, and my mom's best friend Charlotte. My dad wanted to name me Casey if I was a boy SO I was called K.C. from birth. UNTIL I met my dh who HATED HATED HATED my name.. So he called me Kelly when nobody else did and always gave me the Kelly intro with his family and it just stuck. haha Now, even my family calls me Kelly some times which is totally strange to hear.

I want to play the name game! I have always not been very happy with my name. My first name is Shannon (thank you mommy!), but my dad wanted my name to be Margaret. Well, that is my middle name & thank goodness, because I would have been Maggie :scared1: . I would not want that when the Simpsons came out. Not to mention, my name is VERY LONG! I never could fit my name on anything.:lmao:

So, when we had our 1st son, I wanted his name to be Jacob, just because I have always liked the name. We found out later my great-great grandfathers name was Jacob. My husband wanted a jr, but it wouldn't be jr, it would be the second, because my husband is a jr. His father had really bad credit, & of course we had to deal with that alot when we got married. :headache:
We finally decided on Jacob Alan, my husband's first name becoming our son's middle name.

Then, came our second son. We both agreed on Zachary James. Zachary just a name we both liked & James being my dad's name. Just kinda went together well.

We got pregnant again, with another boy. Now what are we going to choose! He wanted Payton, & I thought it sounded girly. I wanted Caleb, but he refused. Finally I convinced him that we need to keep with our theme, & we decided on Noah as a first name, & Patrick as a middle name. No real linkage there, just needed something that sounded good.

And again, pregnant! :lovestruc Anyways, this time......a girl! We have been saving this name for a LONG time! Savannah Emily, and again, no real reason other than we loved the name.

So, there is my name story!;)

Okay I am sooo far behind and will never catch up! I just wanted to say thanks for all of your nice comments about the skirt! I just finished a dress for Sydni, but I will not have a model this weekend so I will have to wait to post pics! I saw some very cute things, but I can't remember them all!

LOVE the hello Kitty Heather, really cute! I love the monkey top glorib, it looks really cute as does the other! Love the "doda" outfit on Norah! (that is how my 15mo pronounces Dora!:rotfl: ) I also saw a cute little Navy blue aline outfit, sorry I don't remember who that belongs too but it is cute! There were definitely others, I just don't remember, but lets face it, everyone on here is soooo talented I have never seen anything that doesn't look good!

STEPH- it is funny that you say that about pronouncing Sydni's name, because my niece calls her Syni!!!!:rotfl: It is hilarious!

Ireland is the proud new owner of (even more) Webkinz. Today she earned a trip to Justice to pick out some new gymnastic sweats and a few webkinz. I only planned on letting her get 2 but one she liked was buy one get one free, so she actually picked one out for her sister, who wasn't with us. Since she was so nice I let her get another one. So now we have a Leopard (who is yet to be named, Cinderella the poodle, Princess the Unicorn, Cassie the Collie, MeowMeow the white cat, Bruno the beagle, Eli the elephant, Reindeer the Reindeer (real original on that name) and a few others, who I can't think of at this moment, I seem to remember a frog, black dog, and something else...The house is getting full!!!!!;)

I think i have the hang of the pillowcase dresses so far :cool1:

Here is my question, i like the look of some of these that have added a strip of fabric at the bottom like these (got this from the photobucket page)
How would i do this? I need very basic terms :rolleyes1 Thanks!!!!!

You just sew it to the bottom. It is a straight piece, not ruffled, etc. You would put the 2 right sides of fabric together and add the piece. I suggest using a strip about 5 inches wide. The ric rac was sewn on-top of seam where the two meet.
Good Luck!
Susan

Castle Creations:
We have Popcorn the white curly haired doggie, Chocolate the brown lab, and Waffles the lion. Funny my kids named their webbies after food ;)

I LOVE Justice!!!!! Norah's a little young still (almost 4) or is she? She loves Libby Loo to death.....I can't get her out of Libbys.

I know this has been asked a thousand times, but about how much are these custom dresses going for for those of you selling them on Ebay?

I've seen them sale for as little as $50 to as high as $100's. I did some for a local school teacher who provided all supplies and my "labor" for the dress and pants and the embroidery/applique was about $125 per set then she had the other expenses of fabric, notions, etc.
Susan

I hope I understood your questions correctly. You just decide how wide you want the contrasting fabric to be, then add on a bit for seam allowance and hem, then cut the strip to the width of the bottom of the dress and sew it on.
Are you using a real pillowcase or making one? If you are making it out of fabric, I would sew the strip on before you do the seams.

ETA: If you don't want to make the dress longer, make sure you subtract the strip width from your original dress length. (keeping in mind your seam allowance)

I should have added to what I put along the lines of Teresa. Also if you are going to sew ric rac or ribbon over that seam where the two fabrics meet do it before you sew the center back seam or side seams of the dress.

I've been lurking for ever on this board and the other 2. I get a lot of inspiration from you all.
I am looking forward to reaching enough post that I can actually put a picture here! Here's a dress I did for a local school teacher for fall break.

I like the curls. Put the curls back. I thought that you were going to say that you had Georgia's hair straightened. :rotfl:

OH NO!!! I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your fabric department. :sad2:
I didn't realize that Georgia was wearing a wig until I read it! I was wondering what you did to straighten her hair like that! :rotfl2:
