THANK YOU DEANN!!!!
Look at that beautiful girl!! I love her Mermaid outfit!! That skirt is too cute!! Gotta love the "Luke"!

Wow! You did a great job- especially for not sewing in years! I love it! Did you make the matching necklace?

Heather and teresa - Lydia looks so much like one of you! i don't know which one it is cuz I get confused.
LOL! Teresa is the one that is HOT...SSSSSSSSSSS!!!
A young guy told her that a few years ago and she's still basking in the compliment. I am too, I'm her sister after all- and people have told us we look alike.

I'd like to think it was me, but you probably mean Heather. ALL my kids look more like her than me!
Yep, and my kids look like their dad.

Love, love, LOVE the baptism pillow! Very creative and beautiful!

UMTerp
It took me a minute to realize that UMTerp was your username and not an abbreviation for something. LOL!

WOW You must have been reading my mind! After my last post, I went to weight myself! I only lost .5lbs:sad2: , but I keep telling myself that is better than nothing, so I have lost a total of 4 lbs in the past two weeks!   You and Heather are doing GREAT! I say YAY! for us and our weight loss: :dance3: ! EVERYONE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! BTW- I booked our trip to Jamaica!!!!!:yay: We are leaving May 26 and coming back the 30th! I CAN'T WAIT! Another motivation for my weight loss!
Hey, 1/2 pound is 2 sticks of butter!

Sorry you are not feeling well Heather!!:flower3: Hope you feel better soon! Have you seen a new doctor yet? You have probably posted all about this but I haven't been reading for a looooong time!
Aw,thanks  Yes, I saw the new hematologist and she was even more clueless than the last 2. There was a discussion about it on the last thread.

I'm sorry you are feeling icky today.

Congratulations on the 1.5 pounds!!!!
Brian was so sweet before I left for the WW meeting he said, "I bet you've lost 2 pounds this week!" :lovestruc
Thank you.
Brian is so sweet! You are looking pretty H-O-T...SSSSSSSS!!! (see above post)

Yeah on the weight loss!!! :cool1: :cool1: I should really get a new battery for our scale. It's been sitting with a dead battery for the last 6 months or so. I'm scared to step on it! :scared1: Sorry no pettiskirt pics yet. DH shared his lovely sick germs with me so I've been sick yesterday and today. I attempted to hand ruffle the tiers yesterday...yeah, no so much. I pulled the thread out twice and put it down until I feel better. The good news is that mom is bringing a ruffler foot with her when she comes down over spring break. Woohoo!!!! The kids are so excited to see her.
It must be hard not to see your mom more often! I'm glad she's coming down for Spring break!

I made this purse last week and finally got the picture off my camera last night. I used the free pattern the came with signing up for the You Can Sew This newsletter. It is so easy and whip-upable!! I did this in about 2 hours. I brought it to my friend who hosted our Girl's Weekend last weekend. I did sew on the button closure, but I had to take the picture before it was done. I bought a ton of fat quarters at the JoAnn's sale to make more of these for Mother's Day, teacher gifts, and my other friends who saw it and had to have one - LOL!

How pretty! One of these days I want to try making one of these. This one is great!

Yay! I'm in the club! I AGREE...diet cherry pepsi is tasty! woo hoo! I also like diet dr. pepper...that seriously doesn't taste diet at all!!! :cool1:

I cooked chicken in the crockpot in diet cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper (and some other ingredients). It was DEE-LICIOUS!!

So I haven't been on much this week I have been trying to tackle the mountain of laundry in the basement- :laundy:
And also because I am having a hard time dealing with the death of a girl I went to h.s. with. She got in a fight with her husband and committed suicide, she didn't die right away, they had her on life support for five days. Her funeral is this weekend and maybe there will be some answers then. I just don't understand it. Why someone would think that would be the best option. Maybe being a mom changes your perspective. I think it is very selfish, and I am angry she did this to her family, but I am also sad that she thought this would solve what ever was wrong. Sorry to bring down the mood here. I need to get back to happier things and figure out how to get past this with out understanding it. Thanks for listening.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend from HS. Suicide is such a hard thing to deal with. There is no good reason for it and it's impossible to understand. My step FIL commited suicide a few years after I married Henry. It was such a shock and we were just furious at him for doing that to Henry's mom. There were no answers, we never found out why he did it. We've all moved on. But, it's so sad when someone sees suicide as the only solution to their problems. I'll be praying for her family, and for you.

Okay, now that you put it like that, I SHOULD be happy with that 1/2 lb.:rotfl: Sorry to hear that she was clueless too! I hope that you can find a dr soon that can understand and help you with this!

I am sooo sorry to hear about this! I can understand! We had a friend do this in November. We got the call as we were driving to Disney!:sad2: It was soooo bad, he left behind two daughters and a pregnant wife!

When I was in 8th grade I messed up my Mom's sewing machine and she banned me forever from her machine. Years later I think she felt guilty and when I had my little girl she bought me a machine. I made one halloween costume, a sheep. But life got in the way and I never touched the machine. Well you ladies have inspired me so here is what I made.

Suicide is just so sad. I feel really bad for people who have lost all their hope. In 2006 we knew two people who tried to kill themselves. One was a neighbor and a life flight helicopter came to our neighborhood and took him to the hospital. He survived. Suicide seems to be happening more often. It is just so sad. The other guy left behind a wife and a toddler.

I finally got Parker's Strawberry Shortcake outfit finished. I am super pleased at how it turned out and she loooooooves it!!! She has worn it twice and has gotten tons of compliments on it which makes her excited and makes me feel proud. Anyways, here it is:

Thanks for the advice/ideas that I got from you ladies! I usually do my strips just plain rectagles but this time I did them in the wedges (I hope that is the right term) that Lisa does hers and I also replicated Lisa's button/loop idea. I haven't learned to do button-holes yet and I am definitely askeared to do them. I can say that I will be doing all of them that I can like this again -- super easy and super cute!!!! That Lisa is one smart cookie!!!!

And I also wanted to share some pics that were taken yesterday. Parker was in a Disney Fashion Show yesterday and she was the only princess that they featured -- she was Belle!

Hello all,
I have to admit...I have been a long-time lurker on this board. In fact, I believe I have been reading since the beginner of Thread 1. Well, I have decided to finally share some things that I made. (Actually, I JUST figured out how to post pics or I would have shared a long time ago).

But, before I do, I have a funny story to tell. Last year, my husband's parents, sister and fam and us, decided to do a Magical Gathering. I was so excited for the kids to go together (my daughter is an only child so I have a lot of Mommy guilt about her not having other kids to play with). SO...here we were planning this fabulous trip and decided I wanted to make my daughter a few customs. Well, I could not leave out my niece who is the same age as my daughter...and then I felt sorry for my nephew... HE might want in on the fun...and then I had to include my other niece (one at the time), so SHE wouldn't be left out. And then this board offered so many cute ideas, my list kept GROWING and GROWING and GROWING until I had made 28 outfits for one trip!!!!!!! :scared1: SICK! And then they need hairbows to match...you all know how this goes.

So I will try to share as many different days as I can, without overloading you all with them all. Here is day one...

(P.S. My daughter is the blonde, Chloe. She is an insane poser when she sees a camera. Please excuse her. My husband claims the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. But I have no idea what he means... ;)
